R0bert Pattinson's Bruce Wayne is full of rage in 2022's The Batman. The upcoming film was originally set to be Ben Affleck's solo DCEU debut, with the actor slated to write and direct as well. When Affleck dropped out as Batman, Matt Reeves was brought onboard as director and repurposed the film to tell a story set earlier in Batman's crime fighting career. The Batman takes inspiration from comics like Year One, The Long Halloween, and Ego, indicating a more intense and psychological take on the Caped Crusader.

In addition to Pattinson, The Batman will feature an ensemble cast taking on some of DC's most iconic characters. Zoë Kravitz will play Selina Kyle, also known as Catwoman, while Jeffrey Wright will take on the role of Commissioner Jim Gordon. Colin Farrell is playing Penguin alongside Paul Dano as the villain Riddler. Barry Keoghan, Peter Sarsgaard, and John Turturo also star. Finally, Andy Serkis will play Bruce Wayne's butler and confidante Alfred and his character was finally teased in the footage for The Batman from CinemaCon.

Also revealed at CinemaCon was a behind-the-scenes featurette teasing the upcoming film. In the sizzle reel, Pattinson discusses the film, saying it is "radically different" from other portrayals of Batman. He also goes on to discuss Bruce Wayne's rage in the film, saying that he's "working [it] out" and that "all the fights seem very personal."

Bruce Wayne's rage was already on full display in The Batman's first trailer - towards the end of the clip, Pattinson can be seen relentlessly beating up a bad guy, throwing punch after punch even after he falls over. The rest of the bad guys in the scene look on in shock as he continues. Still, the extent of Bruce Wayne's rage is unknown and so, too, is its source. Of course, there are a couple of things that it likely stems from.

One of the landmark features of Bruce Wayne as a character is the tragic murder of his mother and father during his childhood. Gotham's corruption and crime also spurs the Caped Crusader to don the cowl and try to save his city from rampant violence. It may go much deeper than that, though, in the new film. The Batman's first trailer also teased connections between the Wayne family and the corruption in Gotham and as Bruce Wayne continues his crime fighting career, new details could emerge that could incite even more rage from the iconic DC hero.
