I don't know how many of you are expecting it, but definitely more than a few. Share your opinions and reviews here, and if anyone watches it in 48fps please share your experience!

I may be skating on thin ice here, but I did not find the LOTR series all that stimulating. I saw the Hobbit trailer in 3D when I went to watch The Life of Pi. I don't think 3D brings much value addition to The Hobbit. So the whole sentiment as far as I am concerned about the movie is rather negative which is rather inexplicable considering I am big fan of the books!

I'm really not a fan of 3D at all, so to see it used in any movie makes me uneasy about the end result. But, since The Hobbit will be projected at 48 fps, then it might actually make good use of 3D. Still, I'll watch it first in 2D at 24 fps, so that my first viewing is not hindered by any technical shenanigans. Is your negative sentiment regarding the movie all about 3D or are there any story aspects/additions that worry you?

I really hope that the movie won't be as long as the later LoTR movies. I'm an avid fan of J.R.R.Tolkien's books and hope the movie will do the book justice.

On an avg. it's a good movie but first half an hour story move like turtle. :)

I saw this movie in regular 3D.

It won´t be, in fact it's the shortest of all four Jackson movies.

I heard that's the film's main problem, that it takes forever for them lo leave The Shire... Well, I'll find out on Sunday.

How did you see the movie? Regular 2D, regular 3D, Imax, 48fps, etc etc?

Finally watched it, what an amazing experience. I enjoyed every second, however the movie is not without flaws.

The pacing is off, what a terrible waste of Christopher Lee (both as an actor and a terrible characterization of Saruman), shoddy CGI at times and the dwarf company is mainly window dressing. The only stand out being, of course, Thorin.

Overall I really enjoyed it, and can't wait to see part 2, BUT it's definitely not up to par with any of the previous Middle.Earth set films.

the problem with 48fps is that all the scenes were not shoot with 1/100 shutter so it does'nt show the real interest of 48fps in think

?? I don't understand, every second (every scene) has twice the amount of frames than normal. The shutter has nothing to do with this.

Of course is not the same thing. But if you want to have a better mouvment definition yous must have better picturesdefinition without bluring.

Oh I get it, but I don't think a feature can maintain continuity with that shutter speed. Especially when you film outdoors and when nearly half of your movie is made up of cgi.

However you can't deny that the blur is minimal precisely because of the higher frame rate.

Finally saw it in 48 fps, what a great experience. The image is more vivid than ever, you can see EVERY single detail, and it's the first feature in 3D that actually feels like you're watching a window to another world.

It's no LOtR. Practically nothing happens to advance the plot since they're making 3 movies.
