Seedboxing - how to make uploads register under Localhost IP??

Hi all,

This is a question which I'm sure if answered by someone knowledgeable will help a lot of users out who are new to Seedboxing.

So, when I register for an account with any trackers, it knows that I am uploading to it because of my IP, correct? They have registered my IP, and thus, know that I'm the one uploading and seeding files.

But once I setup my seedbox, that IP address is DIFFERENT than my current local IP address. So, say I upload a file from my local hard drive that I downloaded off a tracker to my seedbox. How would the tracker know to give my account credit here on my local machine, if it's not coming from that same IP address?? Does it mean that one must download all those torrents again, this time, directly to the seedbox? Thanks for your help. - Hustle

P.S. On a 6 megabits a second DSL line, it is TOTALLY unfeasible to upload torrents from the local machine to your seedbox! Uploads are happening at 60 kbp/s!!

What you will need to do hustledontstop is notify the admins of your seedbox IP and hostname to ensure they have it on file.

At this point it does not matter where you are seeding from as long as the .torrent file you have opned in your client is one that you DL'd from your tracker. (Most trackers only allow seeding from one IP address at a time) What this means is that if you had uploaded your files to your seedbox, and opened your .torrent file all you need to do is indicate the location of your already downloaded files and indicate that you will not be downloading any more.

Hope this makes sense.
