Best Scene torrents site?

knowing about "topsites" doesn't really help you any. its not like they are webpages or something you can find. They are just ftp servers. Really nothing magical or mystical about "the scene". Just a bunch of guys idling on irc that happen to be on ftp sites were release groups first upload their releases. They announce the pre (move the dir into the public releases dir on the ftp server), the bot for that site announces it, and within a few seconds, its already being pushed to many other ftp sites as people race to gain upload credit, mostly for rank among other racers for the week, or all time on that site, rather than actually needing any credit. They used to actually have "magazines" and such, that ranked the sites, the top trades for the month ect. It was all just an ego trip, who could be the best ect.

Was a trader back in the mid 90's, eventually part of a release group that did small app cracks, so at least, this is how it was back then, guess its been awhile. Feel old now :P

trader, as in, all you do is move stuff from one ftp site to another (multiple others, really). Thats it. When I did it, many used FXP, the really good ones had shell boxes though, similar to seedboxes I guess, you download it to one spot (your shellbox), then ftp it back to multiple sites at the same time. You try and get into the top10 on as many sites as you can, your rank = points, weighted based on how good the site is ect.

At least, this is how it used to be. That was quite a long time ago now!

Well I would just want to know what are best access to a scene topsite so does any one know of any?

assuming things havent changed much since i was involved bawlz deep if you ask you will not be getting anything.

i know when i first got access i had to contribute something fairly big.

if you have a server with huge storage then that may do it. if you have the balls and skill to cam and actually do it well there is your access.

now you have to find the people that actually know where to go.

now as i said, i dont know how much things have changed but im betting recruiting is still done on IRC not on a forum.

if you are serious about it good luck. just know it is far easier to get kicked out that it ever was to get in
