Split speed: the preliminary cause of the An-148 crash is named

MOSCOW, February 13 (Itar-Tass) - RIA Novosti. The Interstate Aviation Committee completed the interpretation of the data of the parametric An-148 recorder, which crashed in the Moscow region, and named one of the possible causes of the plane crash.

According to the IAC, problems arose about two and a half minutes after takeoff at an altitude of about 1300 meters and a speed of 465-470 kilometers per hour. At this point, there were discrepancies in the speed readings on the pilot's indicator and the backup instrument. The pilots had to disable the autopilot, but it was not possible to cope with the freelance situation on their own.

In the IAC noted that the malfunction could result in icing of the sensors of the full pressure receivers, which measure the speed of the aircraft. Heating receivers was turned off.

Decoding of the recorder

The specialists of IAC worked on deciphering the parametric recorder all night. Because of the damage, specialists had to completely disassemble the protected memory modules, dismantling the storage media.

They managed to get the presented data due to the fact that 16 flights of An-148, including the last one, were kept on the black box.

"After installing the parametric recorder data carrier in the technological ground device and restoring the information and power connections (trains), all the information of the on-board parametric recorder was successfully copied," the IAC noted.

Also preparation for copying of the information of an audio recorder continues. After deciphering the black box, IAC specialists can obtain new data.

Examination of engines

In addition to the black boxes, two An-148 engines were sent for examination, RIA Novosti reported to the press service of the Emergencies Ministry.

"Two engines were lifted from the crater formed when the plane crashed, two fragments of the aircraft were sent to the Gromov LII in Zhukovsky for the examination of the IAC," the press service of the Emergencies Ministry quotes Sergei Poletikin, head of the Moscow region department.

An-148 "Saratov Airlines", flying from Moscow to Orsk, crashed on Sunday a few minutes after take-off from Domodedovo. On board there were 65 passengers and six crew members. All of them died.

The search and rescue operation ended on the night of Sunday to Monday. Investigators and experts will work on the spot for a few more days. The wreckage of An-148 flew over an area of more than 30 hectares.

The airline said that before the flight the plane was tested and was in good repair. At the same time, the carrier temporarily suspended the operation of all six AN-148s and promised to cooperate with the investigation. Employees of the СК conducted searches in the office of "Saratov Airlines", withdrawing data on the collapse.

It is also reported that on 11 February An-148 performed several flights: Penza-Moscow, Moscow-Saratov, Saratov-Moscow and then, with a new crew, flew from Domodedovo to Orsk. The flight crew changed in accordance with the flight plan.

In the fleet of the air carrier, the aircraft crashed in February 2017.
In January of this year, it passed the S-check form, which checked, including the engine, airframe, wings, the airworthiness of the aircraft was confirmed.
