Paul Burrell voted off I’m a Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!

ROYAL butler Paul Burrell has been sent packing from the South African jungle, but not before a final boxing lesson with Danny Green.

The former aid to the late Princess Diana was tonight voted off Channel Ten reality show I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! and stopped for a quick spar with Green before leaving the camp.

“A world champion boxer, an Olympian, and the royal butler, you wouldn’t put us together,”

“We just hit it off. He taught me to swim and he taught me to box, so look out.”

Burrell, who came out a year ago and is married to a man, added that the pair were drawn to each other by their “natural family attitudes” who “like similar things”.

Burrell was an intruder to the series, sent in just over two weeks after the rest of the celebrity contestants with fellow Brit, reality star Vicky Pattinson.

Burrell previously competed on the British version of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! which is filmed on the Gold Coast in Australia.

“This is the jungle on testosterone. This is the jungle on speed,” he said.

“This is a marathon and all trials are so much more difficult and harder. It really is an exhausting five weeks for those guys. I am starving, I am going home half the man I was when I came in.”

He continued: “I loved every single minute of it. I loved the people and I loved everything you threw me in to. You made me confront my fears. I’m not bad for an old bloke.”

Burrell, who has competed on several reality shows around the world and has made a living for more than two decades off his royal connection to Princess Diana, said his outlook on life had changed thanks to the experience.

“I came into the jungle as the royal butler and I am leaving as Paul Burrell,” he said, picking Pattinson to win the series.

“I am an ordinary guy. My 60th year starts a new chapter. It is the same book but it is a different chapter.”

Before going into the jungle, the 59-year-old told News Corp he still has contacts within the royal family.

“I can get a message quicker to the Queen than I can to my agent,” he said, adding: “I am not going to tell you dirty little secrets, that is not my style. I am still loyal and true and Princess Diana’s colours are nailed to my mast for the rest of my life. I am going to remind the younger generation of that incredible, unique inspirational human being. There is a lot more to say about Princess Diana and the Queen, respectful things.”
