Porn searches Meghan Markle skyrocket

News that Britain‘s Prince Harry was going to marry his girlfriend Meghan Markle in May 2018 should have sparked imaginations of an expensive, colorful royal wedding. There should have been anxiety over what designer white g0wns and grand cathedrals they would choose to befit the great occasion. Surprisingly, porn lovers, true to form, had other ideas minus the gowns. Their minds turned straight to porn with searches containing the two magical names; Meghan Markle shooting up a jaw-dropping 2,208%. It appears people are really desperate to catch a glimpse of a naked soon to be a princess.

Searches triggered by engagement announcement

Royal sex is not an entirely new concept in the porn industry. It has existed in many porn websites, but only in parody form. Even then, a majority of these royal porn searches have been about parody characters such as Princess Peach and Princess Leia. However, after news broke out that the two lovebirds were engaged and we’re going to marry next year, the porn world went berserk. Searches from across Europe skyrocketed. Leading with the search was the United States (where Meghan is from) whose searches shot up 2,273%. Britain followed with 2,242%, perhaps surprisingly, Spain (2,193 percent), Germany (2,167 percent), and Belgium (2,011 percent).

It is highly unlikely that people aged 18-24 would search for Meghan Markle. They are clearly not among the 35-year-old actress’ fan base.   In fact, they are 65% less likely to conduct such a search. Older people, on the other hand, had a higher chance of having searched with those over 60 years 249% as likely.  Perhaps more understandably, men (by 51%) were more likely to search compared to women. This goes on to show just how sexually starved some souls really are but that’s a story for another day.

Raunchy scenes

Sadly for the millions who were hoping to find some hardcore porn action featuring the soon to be princess was, and will be, disappointed. Markle has never appeared in any adult movies. However, it’s not all doom and gloom for the thirsty souls because Markle has previously featured in popular US series ‘Suits’ and featured in some pretty raunchy scenes. Porn websites, led by PornHub have been looking to cash in on the rising interest and have been tagging those scenes with pornographic labels which are making it easier for ‘fans’ to locate them.

According to PornHub, porn searches for celebrities inevitably increase the moment the celebrities hit the headlines whether for good or bad reasons. Markle was no exception, especially considering the amount of buzz that the engagement announcement has generated.

Similar uptick in searches last year

This is actually not the first time that Meghan Markle has hit the headlines. In November 2018, there was a similar surge in searches with millions of people requesting for her sex scenes. This was followed by the news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were dating. Back then, searches for her sex scenes increased by a massive 1,430%. Viewers from Ireland, UK, Canada, New Zealand and Australia led with the most searches. She had taken to social media to tease her fans by sharing an image of a cup of tea in a cup and saucer, next to an elephant-shaped teapot on her Instagram page. She later told a Canadian newspaper that she was the luckiest girl in the world. This is presumably because Prince Harry had been single ever since he broke up with his longtime girlfriend Cressida Bonas a couple of years ago. Any girl would be happy to be enjoying some royal sex, don’t you think?

Acting career now behind her

Meghan (whose real name is actually Rachael) has already shelved her acting career. Previously, she has been really active on social media with her posts revolving around the life she was living. Snaps from holiday pictures with her girls would fill her Instagram page, but as a soon to be a member of the royal family, she will be expected to uphold the dignity and reservations that her newly found position demands of her. No more raunchy scenes and no more scantily dressed snaps of her holidays in Ibiza. She is expected to tie the knot with the prince on May 2018 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

However, she is not expected to take the name ‘Princess Meghan’ having not been born in the royal family. With Prince Harry likely to become a Duke, Meghan will become a Duchess just like Prince William and Kate Middleton before them when they wed in 2011.

Acting/ British royalty connection

This will not be the first time a member of the British royal family is hooking up with someone from the acting profession. Susan George, a British actress who was also involved in several raunchy movies, famously dated the Prince of Wales. Also, Prince Andrew also dated another actor known to have featured in naked scenes, Koo Stark. It seems like the British royalty has a thing for the raunchy.
