Question concerning the ratio.

When you want to subscribe to some private tracker, they ask you for a snapshot of your ratio.

I was wondering what would be the best ratio on a private tracker.

At first I thought that having the highest possible ratio should be best.

After second thought, I changed my mind thinking the best ratio should be between 1.05 and 1.5. That way, you contribute by seeding and by permitting other to seed as well.(It is so hard to compete with the seedbox. )

Am I completely crazy by writing that? :blink:

Do you think that keeping a ratio between 1.05 and 1.5 should suffice to counter the leechers that comes to the site , download all they can and never come back again?

Do you think private tracker are too strict, requesting to keep a ratio higher than 0.9 at all time?

If you can seed everything that you can download, then 1.05 will be fine. If you to download an older torrent, with less leechers, then you'll need some buffer.

i think that above 1 lets say ratio of 5 means that u also upload new stuff to the site.. if u only download stuff and that seed them its depend on your upload speed.. caouse as time pass more and more seeders added and no one will download from u so i think great ratio is about 1.5
