Nintendo Switch Mini Might Be Coming Out This Year

Nintendo Switch Mini is something that we have been hearing about and it is also something that people want. It turns out that the device could be coming out before you expected. In a recent forecast Wall Street analyst Atul Goyal talked about how Nintendo Switch sales are going to drop and if Nintendo needs to keep on selling hardware then it might release the Nintendo Switch Mini. The following is what Goyal had to say in this regard:

Market expectations for Switch, as reflected in stock price, have turned from robust growth to no-growth in a matter of three months. Short-term market is right about Nintendo (for a change) and perhaps it doesn’t grow in hardware sales.

Nintendo Switch Mini will not be an upgrade over what we currently have but we expect it to be a bit cheaper. While the Nintendo Switch costs around $300, depending on where you live, you might not get this price. Other than that, keeping in mind that you can get an Xbox One or PS4 in that price, the cost of a Nintendo Switch does seem pretty high.

The Nintendo Switch Mini is expected to cost around 200, which is much lower and much more affordable but you won’t be getting joycons that will be removable. Instead, you will get the traditional handheld experience. While some people might not like this, it is not much of a tradeoff keeping in mind the smaller price tag.

While it is possible that Nintendo Switch Mini will be compatible with the dock but keeping in mind the price point of the handheld, it is unlikely that the dock will be included out of the box. The Nintendo Switch Mini will have a smaller form factor and hence the name, the device will come with a 4-inch display. These are speculations at this point in time so take this with a grain of salt. 4-inches is pretty small and this is something that concerns me. I get that a smaller panel will reduce cost but we get a bigger display on modern phones these days.

I know that there are plenty of people that want to get a Nintendo Switch, but are unable to get one due to the price. The Nintendo Switch Mini could be a solution to that problem and it could also replace the Nintendo 3DS.
