They're all bound for mu mu land

The KLF have announced bizarre plans to build a pyramid with the ashes of 34,592 dead people.

The Liverpool duo are constructing what they have dubbed a “People’s Pyramid” built from bricks fired with the ashes of dead people during a special event in Liverpool on November 23 called ‘The Toxteth Day Of The Dead’.

According to their official website, each brick of the pyramid will be created through “MuMufication”, which is “the process whereby 23 grams of an individual’s ashes are fired in a brick (a Brick of Mu) and for this brick to become one of the 34,592 bricks of the People’s Pyramid”.

Band members Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty will also be hosting a reception in Toxteth Town Hall.

Local residents will receive free admission to the town hall, however all other other visitors will only be admitted by presenting a supermarket shopping trolley.

Anyone interested in obtaining MuMufication, which is in tribute to their 1991 hit ‘Justified And Ancient’, can visit the L-13 Light Industrial Workshop website to secure a place in the People’s Pyramid for £99.

Since reuniting in 2017, the electronic pop duo have released a book and staged a festival.

The KLF split in 1992 after four acclaimed albums – the same year that they they fired machine gun blanks into the audience and dumped a dead sheep at the aftershow party at the BRIT Awards before deleting their entire back catalogue.

Drummond and Cauty went on to form The K Foundation, who in 1994 set fire to £1million, which was then made into the film Watch the K Foundation Burn a Million Quid.
