Changing the operating system on a dedicated server?

I've just got a dedi with Windows Server 2008 on it and with Deluge installed it's crashing repeatedly. The hardware is not a great spec (it's a 2G Kimsufi) but I'm surprised to find that it can't run Deluge - not even a single 4GB torrent. :(

I'm waiting on a reply to my support ticket now re: changing the OS. Is that even possible?

I currently have a Kimsufi 2G running deluge. My OS is Ubuntu 10.4 and its running flawlessly.... Linux FTW on Dedi's.. I'm sure OVH can change the OS for you...

Thanks for the OS tip ultshare, it's been a long time since I sat in front of a Linux distro, I wouldn't know which to choose. I briefly handled a live Ubuntu dvd but I was on it less than an hour so didn't really get a good go on it. Fingers crossed that my re-seller will oblige in the OS change because it's a dead duck atm. :( Deluge crashes after downloading less than 5mb of the torrent - I've tried three from different trackers. I uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled Deluge... no joy. Roll on Ubuntu!
