PUBG Corporation may have been working hard on new content and features for the PC version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, but it hasn't meant that the Xbox One version has been left in the dust. In fact, the studio announced that Xbox gamers will be able to play the new Miramar map soon.

Eurogamer is reporting that the Miramar map is coming soon to the Xbox One. However, the Miramar map will be limited to a test server for now. The test map server will be available starting April 24th at 12:00 am Pacific Standard Time.

The limited test server will allow Xbox gamers to get in an early look at Miramar before it officially launches. You'll be able to grab the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds test server from the Xbox Store but the map won't go live until April 25th. The testing will be available up through April 29th, giving gamers some time to mess around with the new desert map during testing.

The Miramar testing on Xbox One may at times go down during maintenance for fixes or slight modifications. PUBG Corporation will also be scanning surveying the data to make adjustments during the testing phase.

While the map may have been available for PC for a while, it's just now coming to the Xbox One... well, technically it's not entirely coming to the Xbox One yet but it is coming soon.

Originally Miramar made its debut back in December of 2017 when PUBG Corporation released it on PC. The map is decidedly different from the previous map given that the 8x8km sandbox is mostly composed of empty desert areas.

The Wild West-themed map sports a couple of small towns where players can hide out and use the structures to either snipe others or ambush unsuspecting players.

The map was in development for six to eight months on PC, and it'll take around five to six months before it makes the leap to the Xbox One in full.

Unlike other games out there, the maps in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds are designed to house 100 players, and so optimizing the map for playability is unlike other games. Most games are designed around 8-vs-8 maps, which is a common setup for most first-person shooters like Call of Duty. DICE, however, goes a bit larger with 64-players in the Battlefield maps, so creating new maps take a lot more time than the Call of Duty content. And given that there are about 36 more players in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds maps, they require even more optimization and fine-tuning.

A lot of PC gamers have complained about poor performance, and given that the Xbox One has a more controlled hardware environment, PUBG Corporation has to work extra hard to make sure that the game at least maintains 30 frames per second during gameplay.

Xbox gamers had to deal with some serious optimization issues during the initial launch of Player Unknown's Battlegrounds when it first entered into the preview program.

I imagine that the smaller map may take less time to port over to the Xbox One.
