Understood, but the value for me was that it was one place to find all the scene (usually high quality) releases.  Unless you have an alternative for finding old scene releases you can recommend, i wouldn't mind getting back on (if i ever get someone on their irc channel to respond to me)

Usenet is one of the best places for old scene releases. If you have a provider with good retention.

Many providers offer unlimited  7-14 days trial with good retention >3000 or even >4000day. So you can download everything from the past 10 years

Yes uTorrent has a paid version! The Pro and the worst thing about it is that has ...yearly subscriptions ! 😞

Forgot about that one, free version with ads and pro without ads, that's the only difference right? But is anyone still using uTorrent after they did that jerk move? Don't think I've seen utorrent in the peer list of the torrents i have downloaded lately.

I think this is the best anti-piracy ad ever created:

Great episode, poor guy never got to watch his bootleg dvd 😄

On topic, In situation where someone is making money from selling counterfeits or illegal copies it is justifiable to go after the perpetrators. In that case it can be taken as stealing.

Whereas torrents are just sharing. Someone buys a copy and shares it with his online buddies. Maybe not completely moral and fair, but that the ways today's economy is, not everyone has the money to buy every movie, music, book he wants.
