  1. Liam Payne and his girlfriend Cheryl revealed an intimate bedroom secret to 2018 Brit Awards host Jack Whitehall at the ceremony in London on Wednesday (21Feb18). The couple were united at the ceremony amid reports suggesting their romance is on the rocks, and during one exchange with comedian Jack they had the O2 Arena audience blushing. Sitting down next to Liam and Cheryl and chatting to them live, the cheeky funnyman asked the pair, who became parents to baby Bear last year (17) to wave to their "little one", before revealing he meant Payne's One Direction bandmate Niall Horan. Jack then changed the subject to the Strip That Down singer's planned Brit Awards For You duet with Rita Ora - from the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack - and him if he and his girlfriend had a "safe word" when fooling around in the bedroom. Liam smiled and looked at Cheryl, saying, "She knows", and the Call My Name singer didn't miss a beat, responding, "Don't stop!" The couple have been caught up in the tabloids of late with suggestions their relationship is on the rocks and it is rumoured they took the opportunity to showcase their love in public in a big way at the Brits. "Cheryl was determined to show the world that their relationship is worth fighting for," a source tells UK newspaper The Mirror. Dua Lipa and Stormzy were the big winners at the 2018 Brit Awards, taking home two top prizes apiece.
  2. Liam Gallagher led a Brit Awards tribute to the victims of the terror attack at Manchester Arena last year (17). Liam, who was introduced by fellow Mancunian Gary Barlow, sang Oasis anthem Live Forever onstage at London's O2 Arena on Wednesday (21Feb18) in remembrance of the 22 people who lost their lives in the bomb attack at the end of an Ariana Grande gig. In his introduction Gary said, "In a tribute to the people who we so sadly lost that day, but who always live on forever in our hearts, mind and memories, please welcome onstage Liam Gallagher." The pair also performed at the One Love Manchester charity concert Ariana and her manager Scooter Braun organised two weeks after the bomb attack to raise funds for the victims' families. Former Oasis rocker Liam reportedly stepped in to perform at the Brits at the last minute after an ill Ariana pulled out. Ahead of the ceremony a show insider told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper that her cancellation had initially thrown plans for a tribute into "chaos", adding Liam was the "perfect choice" to step in. The Wall of Glass singer, who lost the Best British Male Solo Artist award to rapper Stormzy, was initially not expected to perform as he had earlier slammed Brit Awards bosses on social media for not allowing him to appear at the bash. Liam, who infamously swore while collecting a prize in 2010, accused those organising the bash of being "too scared" to give him a slot.
  3. Pop star Nick Jonas and his family have been brought closer than ever before after his father fought and won his battle with cancer. Kevin Jonas, Sr. was diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer in March, 2017 and subsequently underwent surgery and six months of chemotherapy treatment. Nick and his brothers Joe, Kevin, and Frankie all rushed to their parents' home in North Carolina to lend them their support during the trying time, and the Jealous hitmaker admits the health scare really rocked their lives, although it ultimately strengthened their family bond. "When I found out about my dad's diagnosis, it was a balance of hope and real concern and fear," he tells People magazine. "I pray that no one else ever has to go through that." "A situation like this makes you wake up and appreciate the ones around you," adds Joe, while father-of-two Kevin Jr. says, "Just spending time together can be the best coping mechanism." Kevin Sr., who previously served as the Jonas Brothers' manager, smiles, "The boys showed me constantly - through texts, phone calls, visits - how much they love me." He is now in remission, and plans to use his own experience to raise awareness about the importance of regular colonoscopy screenings as a spokesperson for research and support organisation Fight CRC (Colorectal Cancer). "I want to have more romance with my wife of 32 years, see my kids get married and watch my grandkids grow up," he shares. Kevin Sr. will have plenty to look forward to in 2018 - his second son, Joe Jonas, is engaged to marry Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, with the couple thought to be planning a winter (18) wedding.
  4. Dua Lipa and Stormzy were the big winners at the 2018 Brit Awards in London on Wednesday (21Feb18), landing two awards apiece. The New Rules singer picked up the Best British Female Solo Artist honour, while she also walked away with the British Breakthrough Act award, while the rapper beat out Ed Sheeran for the British Male Solo Artist prize, and then scored the British Album of the Year for Gang Signs & Prayer. After accepting the Best Female award, Dua Lipa delivered a strong feminist speech, telling the crowd, "I want to thank every single female that has been on this stage before me and has given girls like me a place to be inspired by and (someone to) look up to and allow us to dream. "Here's to more women on these stages, winning these awards and taking over the world." Her bold message was in keeping with one of the themes the night, as many stars arrived at the ceremony wearing white roses in solidarity with victims of sexual harassment and abuse. Dua then brought her younger brother and sister up onstage to share her joy at winning her second prize. Despite missing out in the major categories, Ed Sheeran was honoured with the Global Success Award by Elton John, who praised him in a video message, and Ronnie Wood, who presented him with his trophy at the O2 Arena. Meanwhile, Rag'N'Bone man took home his third Brit Awards honour in two years after his smash hit Human was named Best British Single, while the male, female and group prizes reserved for international acts went to Kendrick Lamar, Lorde and Foo Fighters, respectively. The most poignant moment of the night came when Liam Gallagher performed Oasis anthem Live Forever in tribute to the 22 people who lost their lives in a terror attack at Ariana Grande's concert in Manchester, England last year (17). Justin Timberlake opened the ceremony by performing two tracks from his new album Man of the Woods, while other stars who took to the stage for sets included Lamar, Sheeran, Sam Smith, the Foo Fighters, and Rita Ora and Liam Payne, who teamed up for their For You duet from the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack. The full list of 2018 Brit Awards winners is: British Male Solo Artist: Stormzy British Female Solo Artist: Dua Lipa British Group: Gorillaz British Breakthrough Act: Dua Lipa Critics' Choice Jorja Smith British Single: Rag'N'Bone Man, Human MasterCard British Album of the Year: Stormzy, Gang Signs & Prayer British Producer of the Year: Steve Mac Global Success Award Ed Sheeran British Artist Video of the Year Harry Styles, Sign of the Times International Male Solo Artist: Kendrick Lamar International Female Solo Artist: Lorde International Group: Foo Fighters Global Success Award Ed Sheeran
  5. Rihanna has publicly thanked R&B veteran Toni Braxton for making her 30th birthday party one to remember with a special performance on Tuesday night (20Feb18). The Work hitmaker celebrated reaching the age milestone by stepping out for dinner at New York City's The Grill, followed by a private bash at the Pool Restaurant, where guests included Rihanna's mum, Monica, and socialite Paris Hilton and her actor fiance Chris Zylka. According to the New York Post's Page Six, the singer's boyfriend, Saudi Arabian billionaire Hassan Jameel, was also present for the event, as was Leonardo DiCaprio, who the birthday girl has remained friends with after previously being linked to one of his pals. Un-Break My Heart star Braxton, who was dressed in a skin-tight black gown with cut outs showing off the sides of her breasts, performed a six-song set for the party, and on Wednesday (21Feb18), Rihanna shared a snap of herself joining Toni onstage. "finally met my fav!," she captioned the photo, in which Toni's head is turned towards a beaming Rihanna, who holds up a glass of bubbly and a microphone. "thank you for making my night so special! I'll never forgive you for looking this good at my party tho (sic)". Alongside another picture from the party, showing Rihanna in her short purple and black Saint Laurent dress, she wrote, "sturdiest night of all !!! surrounded by the people I love the most !!! 30 is already my favorite era." Rihanna's mentor and label boss, JAY-Z, is not thought to have been in attendance, but guests enjoyed 30 magnums of his Armand de Brignac champagne as they danced the night away.
  6. Chris Cornell's widow has called out the rocker's doctor for prescribing him a drug deemed unsuitable for recovering addicts to treat a shoulder injury a year before his death. The Soundgarden frontman, 52, had been sober since 2003, but his wife, Vicky Cornell, reveals he suffered a relapse in 2016 - and she believes that ultimately led to his suicide in May, 2017. "Approximately a year before he died, he was prescribed a Benzodiazepine (anti-anxiety medication) to help him sleep," she told TV show Good Morning America. "He had torn his shoulder. He complained that the pain in his shoulder would wake him up." Vicky didn't realise the impact the drug would have on Chris until it was too late. "In retrospect, I learned it's not supposed to be given to anybody in recovery," she shared. "If you have to give it, they have to be closely monitored and it should not be given for more than two to three weeks, so he relapsed. "In a seven-day period, he took 20-something pills and in a nine-day period, 33." Just two months before taking his own life, Chris actually reached out to an unidentified colleague, seeking help via email, writing, "Would love to talk, had relapse." Vicky admits "there were signs" he was in serious trouble, and she's trying not to blame herself for failing to spot them sooner and getting him the treatment he needed. "He had really delayed speech, he was forgetful. There were moments where I thought there was some confusion," she recalled. His problems became really apparent as he took to the stage for what would become his final concert in Detroit, Michigan, when he was "off-pitch" and "walked offstage" midway through the set. Hours later, the musician hanged himself in his hotel room, and although coroners insisted the seven different types of drugs found in his system did not contribute to his death, Vicky remains convinced otherwise. "He wanted to be there for his family, for his children," she said. "He loved his life. He would never have ever left this world. I don't think that he could make any decisions because of the level of impairment." Now Vicky is using her husband's tragedy to raise awareness about addiction as a disease and combat the stigma associated with the illness to help save others facing similar struggles. "It (addiction) is in all of our houses. It's in rich, poor, it has no racial boundaries... it does not discriminate," she declared. "I think that if there were less stigma around it, more people would speak up. "There's just so much labelling that comes with it (addiction), and my husband was the furthest thing from a rock star junkie. He just wasn't. He was the best husband, the greatest father. I lost my soul mate and the love of my life."
  7. Miley Cyrus has faced criticism online after befriending Olympic gold medallist Shaun White, despite the snowboarder and rocker facing allegations of sexual misconduct. The Wrecking Ball hitmaker took to Instagram on Tuesday (20Feb18) to share a photo of herself hanging out with the sportsman, a week after he took home gold in the men's halfpipe at the Winter Olympics in South Korea. In the snap, Miley pulled a face as she wore his latest medal around her neck, holding up his dog, Leroy, in one hand, and a prayer candle featuring an image of Shaun in the other. "Chillin' with an American legend... and I mean @leroythegoodboy," she joked. "Kidding @shaunwhite, you are the s**t! So bada**! Proud of you!" Fans were quick to share their congratulatory messages for Shaun online, but some people were left unimpressed by Miley's snap with the snowboarder, who recently apologised for dismissing claims of sexual harassment made against him as "gossip" in a TV interview after his big win at the Olympics. "I love you @mileycyrus but Shaun is an alleged abuser who hasn't dealt with the accusations tastefully, calling them gossip. Stay aware," posted one follower, while a second Instagram user asked, "Why everyone ignored the abuse allegations against Shaun White (sic)". "Disappointed you're associating with him, especially as a feminist," read another comment. "still love you doe (sic)." The misconduct allegations originally hit headlines in a 2016 lawsuit filed against Shaun by his former Bad Things drummer Lena Zawaideh. They settled the case last summer (17), but when the sports ace was quizzed about the accusations shortly after his halfpipe victory, he brushed them off by telling reporters, "I'm here to talk about the Olympics, not gossip and stuff." White, 31, subsequently expressed his regret at his "poor choice of words", insisting he is a changed man. Miley has yet to respond to the backlash online, but she has previously voiced her backing of the Time's Up and #MeToo anti-harassment movements, even holding a white rose on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards last month (Jan18) to show her support to victims of sexual misconduct.
  8. Singer Dua Lipa showed her support for the victims of sexual harassment and abuse on the Brit Awards red carpet by carrying a white rose. Nominees and guests showed up at Wednesday's (21Feb18) ceremony in London wearing wearing white rose pins to show solidarity for the Time's Up movement launched in the wake of the entertainment industry’s sexual assault crisis, but the 22-year-old decided a pin wasn't enough. One of the first stars to arrive, Dua showed up in a ruffled pink dress, clutching a white rose. The New Rules star had five nominations going into the big night. Singers Rita Ora and Ellie Goulding also arrived holding white roses and Ora even posed kissing hers. Brits bosses wrote to the heads of every U.K. record label, inviting their artists to wear a pin "as a symbol of solidarity" after stars attending the Grammy Awards in New York last month (Jan18) adopted the white rose as a token of unity with victims of abuse. The Time's Up movement kicked off on New Year's Day (01Jan18), with many celebrities pledging to support the cause, created to help fund victims' legal battles against their abusers and harassers. Nominees and guests at the Golden Globes in January and the BAFTA Awards in London on Sunday (18Feb18) opted to wear black on the red carpet to show their support. U.S.-based record company executives Meg Harkins and Karen Rait came up with the white rose idea for the Grammys after learning show bosses had no plans to officially show their support for the Time's Up movement. Kelly Clarkson, Camila Cabello, Pink, Lana Del Rey, Elton John, Lady Gaga, Cardi B, and Miley Cyrus were among the stars who wore a rose or a similar white flower.
  9. Cab driver Agustin Hilario has been found guilty of stealing John Legend's luggage. The 64-year-old was identified on camera after lifting the award-winning singer's Louis Vuitton bag, which contained his prized $30,000 (£21,496) Cartier cufflinks, from an unattended cart at New York's JFK Airport in March, 2017. He claimed originally that he took the bag accidentally, but surveillance footage analysed by Port Authority Police showed him wheeling the cart to a less obvious area before grabbing the bag and fleeing. Following his arrest, and the eventual return of the luggage, Hilario told police: "I know I should not have taken it. I made a mistake. There could have been a bomb in there.” After a week-long trial, which saw Legend testify against him, Hilario was found guilty of criminal possession of stolen property and now faces up to seven years in prison when he's sentenced on 12 March (18). The jury came to their decision after "weighing all the evidence and hearing the testimony of the victim, John Legend", Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown said. Legend had testified earlier this month, and told the court that the diamond-studded cufflinks, which were in the shape of a panther - his high school mascot - were an anniversary gift from his model wife Chrissy Teigen. "It was a very special gift that my wife spent a lot of time looking for and was proud to give them to me,” he had said during his testimony. “It meant a lot to her, and it meant a lot to me that she went through that to gift them to me." In the bag, which itself was worth $3,000 (£2,149), was another $500 (£358) of clothing and a pair of sunglasses worth $500 (£358) - all of which were later returned to Legend.
  10. Ariana Grande has reportedly pulled out of a surprise BRIT Awards tribute to the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing. According to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, 24-year-old Ariana, whose concert in the English city was targeted by a suicide bomber in May, was set to lead an emotional performance at Wednesday's (21Feb18) ceremony, but her team notified organisers she could not take part the day before the event. An insider told the publication that her last-minute drop out plunged plans for a tribute into chaos, but that Manchester-born Oasis rocker Liam Gallagher had agreed to step in. "It was utter chaos when the call came in that Ariana couldn't do it," the source said. "Liam has saved the day by stepping in at the last minute. It's a perfect choice. It's going to be the moment of the evening." Representatives for the BRIT Awards, which will be held at London's O2 Arena, declined to comment. The tribute to the 22 people who lost their lives and the more than 500 who were injured in the terror attack is reportedly set to be the centrepiece of the awards bash. "It will be the biggest talking point of the night," an insider told them. "The whole industry wants to come together to pay their respects to the victims. The effects of that terrible night resonated far and wide in the music industry and it's only right everyone comes together to pay their respects." Less than a month after the tragic attack on her gig, Ariana returned to the city for a huge charity concert to raise funds for the victims and their families. The One Love Manchester concert at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground featured performances from acts including Liam, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Chris Martin and Miley Cyrus. The concert and other charitable efforts raised more than $13 million (£10 million) for a victims' fund.
  11. Reclusive soul icon Sade is returning to the spotlight with an original song for director Ava DuVernay's fantasy film A Wrinkle in Time. The Smooth Operator star hasn't released any fresh material since sharing a cover of Thin Lizzy's Still in Love With You for her 2011 compilation album, The Ultimate Collection, but on Tuesday (20Feb18), DuVernay revealed she had managed to persuade Sade to return to the studio for her new Disney project. "I never thought she'd say yes, but asked anyway," Ava wrote on Twitter. "She was kind + giving. A goddess. We began a journey together that I'll never forget. Proud to announce that Sade has created an original song for WRINKLE IN TIME. It's entitled 'Flower of the Universe'. And it's a dream come true." Pop star Sia has also contributed a new tune to the album. It was written especially for lead character Meg Murray, played onscreen by rising actress Storm Reid. "Happy to share that WRINKLE IN TIME's soundtrack also includes original music by none other than Sia," Ava continued. "I remember being blown away by her SPEAKING VOICE ON THE PHONE. So when she shared the song she wrote for Meg, I was spellbound. It's called 'Magic'. And it is. Thank you, @Sia." The film will also boast songs from Beyonce's protegees Chloe x Halle, Kehlani, and Demi Lovato and DJ Khaled, whose I Believe collaboration has been added to the soundtrack line-up. After Demi expressed her excitement at the news, Ava responded by tweeting: "My hope was to gather dynamic women artists to craft a majestic soundtrack for Meg's journey. Demi, thank you for 'I BELIEVE.' With our brother, @djkhaled, you made magic." A Wrinkle in Time, the big screen adaptation of Madeleine L'Engle's popular children's book, will star Reese Witherspoon, Oprah Winfrey, and Mindy Kaling, and feature a score by Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi. The highly-anticipated movie and accompanying soundtrack will be released in early March (18).
  12. Kendrick Lamar and SZA are being sued by an artist who claims her artwork has been used in the video for their Black Panther song All the Stars without her permission. British-Liberian artist Lina Iris Viktor alleges that the video tries to recreate the "unique look and feel" of her fine art pieces, entitled Constellations I, Constellations II and Constellations III, while also using "specific copyrightable elements" such as "stylised motifs of mythical animals, gilded geometric forms on a black background, and distinctively textured areas and patterns". Viktor also claims that the decision to feature her pieces in the video came after she was contacted by representatives for Black Panther twice. According to the lawsuit, movie bosses got in touch in 2016 and in January (18), to ask her to either lend her work to the film or create something new for it. However, Viktor said no - which means their decision to use the pieces in the All the Stars video is "both an egregious violation of federal law and an affront to the artist, her livelihood, her legacy and to artists everywhere". Viktor also pointed out the irony of the case in her suit - that Black Panther promotes the themes of black and female empowerment, yet she's a black, African woman and had her wishes ignored. "Why would they do this? It’s an ethical issue, because what the whole film purports is that it’s about black empowerment, African excellence — that’s the whole concept of the story. And at the same time they’re stealing from African artists," she said during a telephone interview with The New York Times. She is suing for damages, and has requested the judge grant an injunction which would prevent Lamar and SZA from using her artwork to promote the movie soundtrack. The suit comes after Viktor's lawyer Christopher Robinson sent a letter to Lamar's mentor and record label head, Top Dawg Entertainment's Anthony Tiffith, on Saturday, alerting him to the copyright violation and stating that Viktor was "willing to discuss a resolution of all her claims, consisting at a minimum of a public apology for the unauthorised use and a license fee". A new statement issued to Pitchfork by Viktor's legal team read: "We tried to resolve this without litigation. Now that we are in Court, we are confident that Ms. Viktor will prevail."
  13. Victoria Beckham has opened up about the surprise Spice Girls reunion, revealing the former bandmates' get together was all about protecting their legacy. Posh Spice shot down reports of a late summer tour and new music at New York Fashion Week earlier this month (Feb18), days after meeting up with Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, Melanie Brown, and Melanie Chisholm, insisting there was no plan to hit the road. She reiterated that at a London Fashion Week event on Tuesday (20Feb18), stating, "There is nothing tangible. It was great seeing the girls. Everybody got very excited, but there is no tour, there is no recording." Expanding on the shock get together at Geri's home, which was organised by the girl group's former manager Simon Fuller, Beckham tells WWD.com, "I think, for us, it’s about protecting the legacy, and asking how we continue the girl power message. How do we continue that, and pass it on to future generations? "We’re just looking at how we pass that message, as opposed to us going on tour or recording or doing a TV show. It’s not about that. It’s about us looking at the legacy and protecting it. And we all feel the same about that." Beckham and Chisholm refused to hit the road with their bandmates for a 20th anniversary tour last year (17), prompting their three bandmates to form a new trio, called GEM. Plans for a tour and other events to mark the 20th anniversary of the girl group's first hit fell apart when Horner announced she was pregnant. The last time the Spice Girls performed together was at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012.
  14. Rihanna has used her 30th birthday to pay a special tribute to her mother for raising the pop superstar to be the woman she is today. The Diamonds hitmaker marked the age milestone on Tuesday (20Feb18) and she has taken to Instagram to share her love and gratitude for her beloved mum, Monica. Rihanna posted two images of herself on the social media site, one of her as a baby, and a second shot from her recent Fenty Beauty promo campaign. "10958 days ago @monica_fenty became a mother for the first time to her only daughter!," the singer rejoiced. "Today is just as much your birthday as it is mine! I love you mom! Thank you for carrying me, birthing me, raising me, supporting me, teaching me, and loving me unconditionally! The woman I am today is because of everything that you are! "I thank God for perfectly hand picking you to be my mother when He sent my spirit to you! You are the greatest! Thank you!" The sweet message emerged hours after the birthday girl prepared to bid farewell to her 20s, posing for a photo online wearing an oversized T-shirt bearing the phrase, "I hate Rihanna", across her chest, as well as the words, "Don't Trust Anyone Under 30." She captioned the Instagram Story post, "Last day to make a bad decision and blame it on my 20’s (sic)." A number of celebrity pals have since offered up their birthday wishes to Rihanna via social media, with messages from Bruno Mars, her Wild Thoughts collaborator Bryson Tiller, comedienne Ellen DeGeneres, and singer Fantasia Barrino, among others. Her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown also shared a public note for the Bajan beauty, uploading a throwback picture of Rihanna as a kid and captioning it, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY @badgalriri." The pair infamously split in 2009 after Brown assaulted her during an argument on the eve of the Grammy Awards. They briefly rekindled their romance in 2013, before parting ways for good. Rihanna is now dating Saudi Arabian billionaire Hassan Jameel, who she was first linked to in June (17).

After previously being legal for personal use, in 2014 the Netherlands banned downloading of copyrighted content. In 2013, 41% of people engaged in the practice but according to a new study, just 24% admitted to having downloaded pirate media within the previous 12 months. While that sounds like good news, unauthorized streaming is absent from the stats. After many years of downloading content with impunity, 2014 brought a culture shock to the Dutch. Citizens were previously allowed to obtain content for their own use due to a levy on blank media that compensated rightsholders. However, the European Court of Justice found that system to be illegal and the government quickly moved to ban downloading from unauthorized sources. In the four years that have passed since the ban, the downloading landscape has undergone change. That’s according to a study published by the Consumer Insights panel at Telecompaper which found that while 41% of respondents downloaded movies, TV shows, music and games from unauthorized sources in 2013, the figure had plunged to 27% at the end of 2016. There was a further drop to 24% by the end of 2017. Of the people who continue to download illegally, men are overrepresented, the study found. While 27% of men obtained media for free during the last year to October 2017, only 21% of women did likewise. While as many as 150 million people still use P2P technologies such as BitTorrent worldwide, there is a general decline in usage and this is reflected in the report. In 2013, 18% of Dutch respondents used torrent-like systems to download, a figure that had fallen to 8% in 2016 and 6% last year. Again, male participants were overrepresented, outnumbering women by two to one. However, people appear to be visiting P2P networks less. “The study showed that people who reported using P2P to download content, have done so on average 37 times a year [to October 2017]. In January of 2017 it was significantly higher, 61 times,” the study notes. P2P usage in November 2015 was rated at 98 instances per year. Perhaps surprisingly, one of the oldest methods of downloading content has maintained its userbase in more recent years. Usenet, otherwise known as the newsgroups, accounted for 9% of downloaders in 2013 but after falling to around 6% of downloaders in 2016, that figure remained unchanged in 2017. Almost five times more men used newsgroups than women. At the same time as showing a steady trend in terms of users, instances of newsgroup downloading are reportedly up in the latest count. In November 2015, people used the system an average of 98 times per year but in January 2017 that had fallen to 66 times. The latest figures find an average use of 68 times per year. Drilling down into more obscure systems, 2% of respondents told Telecompaper that they’d used an FTP server during the past year, a method that was entirely dominated by men. While the Dutch downloading ban in 2013 may have played some part in changing perceptions, the increased availability of legal offers cannot be ignored. Films and TV shows are now widely available on services such as Netflix and Amazon, while music is strongly represented via Spotify, Apple, Deezer and similar platforms. Indeed, 12% of respondents said they are now downloading less illegally because it’s easier to obtain paid content, that’s versus 11% at the start of 2017 and just 3% in 2013. Interestingly, 14% of respondents this time around said their illegal downloads are down because they have more restrictions on their time. Another interesting reason given for downloading less is that pirate content is becoming harder to find. In 2013, just 4% cited this as a cause for reduction yet in 2017, this had jumped to 8% of respondents, with blocked sites proving a stumbling block for some users. On the other hand, 3% of respondents said that since content had become easier to find, they are now downloading more. However, that figure is down from 13% in November 2013 and 6% in January 2017. But with legal streaming certainly making its mark in the Netherlands, the illegal streaming phenomenon isn’t directly addressed in the report. It is likely that a considerable number of citizens are now using this method to obtain their content fix in a way that’s not as easily trackable as torrent-like systems. Furthermore, given the plans of local film distribution Dutch FilmWorks to chase and demand cash settlements from BitTorrent users, it’s likely that traffic to streaming sites will only increase in the months to come, at least for those looking to consume TV shows and movies.
  24. Psyonix has yet to cease to amaze the gaming audience with the way the company updates and keeps new content rolling into Rocket League, the multiplayer action-sports title for PC and home consoles. The latest update will bring additional Batmobiles to the game, along with some more content based on DC heroes. The news comes courtesy of a post made over on the official Rocket League website, where the company announced the new DC Super Heroes DLC for the game. This includes the Tumbler from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy and the 1989 Batmobile from Tim Burton's Batman. Both vehicles look absolutely awesome, and the intro trailer that introduces both of them to the arenas of Rocket League are put together perfectly. We see both vehicles driving through recreated segments from the 1989 Batman movie and the concrete jungle of Gotham featured in Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins. This makes complete sense, given that gamers had been begging Psyonix for the Tumbler, since it seemed to perfectly fit in with the rough and tumble, aerial gameplay of Rocket League. WB Games and Psyonix announced that the two companies are collaborating once more, but there's more than just two of Batman's most famous vehicles appearing in Rocket League, there's also a collection of other DC-themed content and skins making an appearance, including an Aquaman decal and player banner for Breakout, a Batman decal and player banner for the Paladin, a Cyborg decal and player banner for the Roadhog, a Flash speed force boost and wheels along with a decal for the Venom, a Green Arrow decal and b anner for the Hotshot, a Green Lantern decal and player banner for the Merc, and wheels and decals themed around Wonder Woman for the X-Devil. Additionally there's a DC player banner that players can wave around to show their support for the comic brand. The DC Super Heroes DLC pack will become available for gamers starting March 5th for $3.99 across the PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. You will need a full copy of Rocket League to make use of the DLC pack. Keep note that some of these items are re-releases. Psyonix notes that three of the DLC items in particular were previously available as part of the Collector's Edition, which came out earlier this year. The items include the Flash wheels and player banner, along with the DC Comics player banner. Of course if you still wanted to get your hands on the other skin packs and banners themed after other popular heroes and characters from the DC roster, such as Wonder Woman and Superman, you'll probably want to keep your eye on the upcoming DLC pack that will go live next month. It's amazing how long Rocket League has been able to stay fresh and current so many years after it came out, but a lot of people really love the game's core gameplay mechanics and the pick-and-play controls that have allowed Psyonix to move millions upon millions of copies of the action-sports title.
