  11. Team OS News Warning - Accounts Compromise Hello Everyone, Sorry to inform you that few users were spreading virus through uploads and few of our users account got compromised due to that, so we would like you to kindly read this thread completely to protect your account and follow some steps to ensure security of your account. With Piracy comes a risk of security aswell due to cracks and patches, but most of them are just false positive but some people also use cracks and patches to hack into others system and get access to their information and it's really hard to find difference between false positive and the real virus software as both are detected as viruses by antivirus. In the coming week we are going to increase the security of our forum and also implement and change some rules and put some restrictions in place to ensure that this kind of activity could not take place again, also share some security tips to be followed by users while using those cracks and patches to ensure their safety. So sit back and wait for those changes. In the meanwhile lets discuss what has actually happened and what you need to do to. So firstly one of our users account got hacked by someone and he changed his email id and password and after that he started uploading content from his account in TeamOS and in some of his files he also started adding viruses, as the number of files uploaded daily are large in number so it becomes hard for our staff members to track down each and every file being uploaded and thus some of files aren't checked for viruses. So as per our records and old proofs we have found this account was being used for spreading virus: ***** We have deleted all his threads and also recovered the account for main author, in the meanwhile we request to all our users, whether someone has downloaded from him or not, Please scan your PC for any Virus or Suspicious activity and take the necessary actions if something has happened. As for compromised accounts we have recovered some of the compromised accounts, as of now we don't have actual data on none of compromised users, however we believe its a small number, so far we have only found 4-5 accounts being compromised and we have successfully recovered those accounts. We are going to work this whole week on security and improvement of policies and rules we have here and lots of changes are coming soon to ensure the security of our users. Currently we have disabled the option to change the email address for security purpose. Now let's talk about how you can secure your account on TeamOS: Firstly visit the security section of your profile: account/security, there if possible change your password, and also enable the two step verification , so that only you could access your account. In Login Sessions, Forget any device which you don't recognize to logout your account on those devices. We highly recommend changing password if your account has a login in unauthorized device. You can check your all Active Login Sessions in Security Section of your account. Enable Two Step Verification and Change Password https://lookimg.com/images/2020/06/17/PA3JuJ.png Forget any Unauthorized Device https://lookimg.com/images/2020/06/17/PA3aDD.png Spreading virus through software cracks and patches is a common issues and many people keep spreading them through one source or another to get access to users system, so it becomes a responsibility of users also to ensure that whatever they install in their system are safe and secure for their system, so in the coming week we will try to mention all the possible ways one can avoid getting virus and getting hacked through these cracks and patches. As we are still looking for the accounts which have been compromised , if you or someone you know whose account has been compromised please contact us and we will do our level best to safeguard their account. You can either comment regarding it in this thread or through a pm to a staff and we will handle the rest part. We are really sorry for having these loopholes through which these users spreading viruses, we are going to our best to ensure that this doesn't happen in future so we are going to work this next week completely on the security part and ensure the safety of users' account. Thank you Regards Staff

  13. WTO: Saudi Arabia Failed to Help Tackle the BeoutQ Piracy Problem The World Trade Organization has found that Saudi Arabia failed to live up to its obligations under the TRIPS agreement. In a dispute that centers around the pirate broadcaster beoutQ, the WTO sides with Qatar which suggested that a large piracy conspiracy may have taken place within its neighboring country. Pay-TV provider BeoutQ is a thorn in the side of many rightsholders. It launched in 2017 and since then, various parties have tried to stop its infringing activities. The complaints mainly come from broadcasters such as beIN and sports organizations including FIFA, Premier League, NBA, NFL, and even the International Olympic Committee. As a result, it has been labeled a “notorious market” by the US Trade Representative. BeoutQ is widely regarded to be a Saudi Arabian operation but despite complaints from the highest political echelons, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is not eager to take action. This resulted in a complaint at the World Trade Organization (WTO), filed by Qatar, its neighboring country. Qatar has a stake in the matter since BeoutQ simulcasts programming from the Qatari broadcaster beIN Sports. According to the complaint, Saudi Arabia isn’t living up to its obligations under the WTO’s TRIPS agreement. According to Qatar, the country failed to cooperate in efforts to shut down the infringing activity, through criminal investigations and other means. WTO’s findings A WTO panel reviewed the dispute and yesterday released a report in which it clearly sides with Qatar. The report concludes that BeoutQ is a piracy service and Saudi Arabia failed to live up to its TRIPS obligations. The panel highlights that BeoutQ does indeed provide illegal access to beIN channels. In addition, its set-top boxes come pre-loaded with IPTV and various apps that link to other pirated content. This includes the Showbox app, which can be used to access thousands of pirated movies and TV-shows. “The Show Box application, which has come to be known as the ‘Netflix of piracy’, provides free access to more than 4,700 movies, 700 TV-shows and 35,000 TV-show episodes via streaming or direct download to the STB,” the report reads. beoutQ Unlike some apps and services, the ‘pirate’ broadcaster isn’t run by a few hobbyists. The panel’s report points out that the service was promoted on Twitter by prominent Saudi nationals including the counsel for the Saudi Royal Courts, the general manager of the Al Riyadh Newspaper, as well as the Al Riyadh newspaper itself. According to beIN, these tweets may point to a “conspiracy” to pirate beIN’s content that occurred within “the territorial jurisdiction of Saudi Arabia.” https://torrentfreak.com/images/tweets-bein.jpg The WTO report doesn’t confirm any conspiracy but notes that the tweets make it clear that these people were aware of a new pirate service, just before BeoutQ launched. “All of the tweets above foreshadow that a substitute for beIN’s operations would enter the Saudi market, and some of the tweets support the establishment of a pirate channel, beoutQ, to circumvent beIN’s exclusive licences from third-party right holders.” Ultimately, the WTO’s task wasn’t to rule on who’s responsible for the infringing activity. Instead, it was required to evaluate whether Saudi Arabia had lived up to its obligations under the TRIPS agreement, which requires countries to help solve intellectual property disputes. Saudi Arabia Failed to Live Up to its Obligations According to the WTO panel, Saudi Arabia failed to do so in this case. “Saudi Arabia has taken measures that, directly or indirectly, have had the result of preventing beIN from obtaining Saudi legal counsel to enforce its IP rights through civil enforcement procedures before Saudi courts and tribunals,” the WTO’s conclusion reads. “Qatar has established that Saudi Arabia has not provided for criminal procedures and penalties to be applied to beoutQ despite the evidence establishing prima facie that beoutQ is operated by individuals or entities under the jurisdiction of Saudi Arabia.” Based on the above, the WTO urges Saudi Arabia to up its game in order to fully comply with all obligations under the TRIPS Agreement. Meanwhile, however, beoutQ broadcasts continue undeterred. Source: Torrentfreak.com
  14. XbytesV2 News Google Translation: Donations - Invitation Good morning everyone, During the donation periods, to thank them for the commitment and help, those users who make donations greater than 20 will be entitled to an invitation, in this way those users who cannot share what is necessary but however if they collaborate and help the tracker, can access an invitation. For this, after making the donation, they will have to send a PM to a member of the staf and as soon as we verify it, the invitation will be given. This measure has retroactive effect for the current period, so if someone has donated more than 20 and wants the invitation, they will only have to notify us. Also to say that this measure is something temporary, the idea is to automate the system so that depending on the donation you are assigned a number of points and you can decide how you want to redeem them, but this will be in the future. Greetings

  19. International Coalition Brings Down Piracy Ring International Coalition Brings Down Piracy Ring Boasting 40,000 Video Channels and VOD content, and 2 Million Subscribers Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL), the Spanish Football League (LaLiga), NAGRA and Nordic Content Protection thank the Spanish National Police, and law enforcement agencies throughout Europe, for crackdown on international illegal IPTV streaming network NAGRA and Nordic Content Protection today announced the shutdown of an illegal IPTV streaming network based in Spain that served more than two million paying subscribers worldwide. The shutdown is the result of criminal complaints and assistance of DFL, LaLiga, NAGRA and Nordic Content Protection to the Spanish police. The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) was also involved on behalf of the content industry. The coordinated international law enforcement operation was led by the Spanish National Police with the support of Europol, the law enforcement agency of the European Union, and Eurojust, the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation. The pirate network was offering more than 40,000 video channels and video-on-demand content, offering a wide range of channels, sports events, films, documentaries, and series, as well as 50 pirate servers located in various countries in Europe. All were shut down as part of the anti-piracy operation. The piracy network was based in Spain but operated worldwide – in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States generating profits in excess of 15 million euros and causing much higher damages to the content industry. Its IPTV service was offered to resellers allowing them to create their own brand and illegal service as a franchise. Arrests were made in several European countries including Spain, Denmark, Germany, Italy, and Sweden. Individuals were charged with crimes against intellectual property, communications fraud, money laundering and criminal organization. “We are grateful to the Spanish National Police and all involved in this operation for working together to protect and defend content owner rights,” said Melcior Soler, Audiovisual Director at LaLiga. “Piracy is a global problem and it’s critical for the industry as whole to come together to fight it, share knowledge and leverage key partnerships and anti-piracy technologies to preserve high-quality content for our fans – whether it’s in sports or other types of entertainment. Together we can make a difference and alter the piracy landscape.” “The DFL welcomes this transnational anti-piracy operation that comes at the same time major European championships resume their activities. Tackling large pirate operations at the source is a key component in the fight against large-scale content theft,” said Dr. Holger Blask, Director Audiovisual Rights at DFL. “We are glad the industry is more and more united against piracy, in this case both the sports and the content industries joined efforts to make it happen”. “We applaud the Spanish National Police for leading this anti-piracy effort to a successful outcome,” said Pascal Métral, VP Legal Affairs and Head of Anti-Piracy Investigations, Intelligence and Litigation at NAGRA. “These results could not have been achieved without close collaboration between all stakeholders – content owners, governmental entities and anti-piracy companies – and is a clear demonstration of how such efforts can have a real impact on stopping the spread of commercial piracy. We are honored to support the effort through our investigations and intelligence teams and to represent the interests of the sports and content industry to ensure their rights are protected.” “Nordic Content Protection congratulates the Spanish National Police and other national law enforcement agencies throughout Europe that conducted this very successful operation. With assets and money worth six million Euros confiscated from the pirates, it’s a strong signal to other pirate organizations that organized IP crime eventually does not pay off,” said Anders Braf, CEO at Nordic Content Protection. This latest success further illustrates the importance of a close partnership between content owners, operators, technology providers, policy makers and governments, to make real strides in the battle against piracy and to protect all media and entertainment industry stakeholders’ legitimate business.
  20. Nintendo issues cease-and-desist for Switch modchip installation service “All I’m doing is putting the solder on,” says installer, who doesn’t sell the chips. Last month, Nintendo went to court in an effort to stop retailers from selling an upcoming line of internal Switch mod chips, which the company says enable and encourage piracy. Now, Nintendo is expanding its efforts by sending a cease-and-desist letter to one company that merely offers to install mod chips obtained elsewhere. Connecticut-based Logistics Consulting LLC has offered a "Nintendo Switch SX CORE SX LITE Mod Chip Service" on its website for a few weeks, according to founder Ben Van Rheen. As noted on the site, the $60 offering is "NOT for the purchase of the Nintendo Switch SX CORE or SX LITE mod. We don’t make the mod or sell the mod, just the installation service." That offering has now been suspended, according to the page, as Logistics is "currently in talks with Nintendo and their lawyers from New York." “Nintendo will not tolerate such baldly unlawful conduct” In a cease-and-desist letter sent on Nintendo's behalf, dated June 12 and obtained by Ars Technica, Jenner & Block lawyer Alison Stein argues that Logistics' installation service violates the anti-circumvention and anti-trafficking clauses of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. "Through the mod service you are offering, you literally break open a customer's Nintendo Switch, and then solder the SX Core and SX Lite into the console," Stein writes. "By offering to the public an installation service for the modchips, you are offering a service that is primarily designed to circumvent Nintendo's measures and thus violating the DMCA." Logistics' page previously linked to outside vendors that were willing to sell Team Xecutor's SX mod chips, which allow for the installation of custom, piracy-enabling Switch firmware from an SD card. But those links were removed when those outside vendors "cancelled and refunded pre-orders presumably by Nintendo intervention," according to Logistics' page. Nintendo's lawyers cite those links and their removal as evidence that Logistics was "well aware of the unlawful nature of your entire operation." "You are aware that my client has brought a lawsuit against certain resellers of these modchips and aware that certain resellers have canceled orders for the modchips and refunded their customers, and yet you are continuing to provide a service to install those very same modchips in Nintendo Switch consoles," the letter continues. "Nintendo will not tolerate such baldly unlawful conduct." Asked for comment, Jenner & Block directed Ars Technica back to Nintendo. "Nintendo consistently protects the creative works of game developers and publishers who expend significant time and effort to create fun experiences," Nintendo of America said in a statement provided to Ars Technica. "Nintendo is passionate about protecting those creative ideas and will vigorously enforce its intellectual property rights to allow the continued delivery of unique and original entertainment experiences to our consumers." “All I’m doing is putting the solder on” Van Rheen, who said he has been repairing electronics as a hobby since he was 12, started Logistics in 2010 as a two-person computer repair business run by him and his wife. Modding services for systems ranging from the PS1 to the GameCube only make up 5 to 10 percent of the company's business, he told Ars. About 20 people had pre-ordered Logistics' Switch modchip installation service in the two weeks it had been available, Van Rheen said. None of those installations have actually been performed, Van Rheen said, pending actual delivery of the chips by others. While buyers are able to install the SX modchip line themselves, Van Rheen said his service is for people who might not have the experience or tools necessary for that fairly involved process. "If you're just starting out soldering, I wouldn't recommend it because it's so small," he told Ars. "I don't think it's hard, but for someone who's never done it before... there are like 20 pins you have to line up [and solder]." After receiving the cease-and-desist letter and talking to Nintendo's legal representation, Van Rheen said he's still seeking more information about the legality of his service. "[The lawyer] wouldn't get into what law I broke, she kept referring back to the letter," Van Rheen told Ars. "I said, 'I read the letter, I see your point, but how is this breaking the law?' [They said,] 'You're circumventing the copyright,' and I'm like, 'All I'm doing is putting the solder on, how is that breaking the copyright?'" Though Van Rheen said he understands the SX chip's potential for enabling pirated games, his main interest in the device is the ability to let players export save data to an external SD card. "My argument for this device's existence is that it lets you export your saved games, whereas the regular Nintendo Switch does not," he told Ars. "You have to subscribe to Nintendo's service [for cloud saves] or you're done." "Being able to obtain your personal data off the device, I think it's [an exception] that's nullified [in the DMCA]," he added. "I'm not a lawyer, I'm just following logic-based arguments." As far as piracy is concerned, "It's not like the thing comes with all the games on it," he said. "You have to load the games on an SD card. It's not like I'm selling them a pre-loaded SD card with all the Nintendo Switch games on it. That's over that line. This just has the capability to play pirated games. You could buy a knife—it has the capability to kill someone, or you could just use it to chop up onions." “Nintendo is in the right...” Legal theories about knives aside, Van Rheen and other modchip installers are probably on the wrong side of the law on this matter. "The DMCA is a bit of an odd animal that gets tweaked and adjusted over time," said Mark Methenitis, a Dallas attorney and former author of the Law of the Game blog. "But even with some of the 2015 rule changes, what we're looking at here is still pretty cut and dried, and in this case, Nintendo is in the right..." Avoiding direct sale of the chips themselves isn't relevant here, Methenitis said, because of the anti-trafficking provisions in the DMCA. "Anti-circumvention basically says that you can't circumvent a technological measure designed to protect a copyrighted work, and anti-trafficking says you can't offer those anti-circumvention technologies to others," Methenitis said. "These chips are designed for circumvention, and the service to install them would be 'trafficking in' that anti-circumvention technology." "I wouldn't expect Nintendo to back down on this," he added. "They've got a pretty strong incentive to attack every part of the supply chain for these kinds of chips, and an installer is just part of that chain. They've also got a pretty long history of going after this kind of thing." "If [Nintendo is] persistent enough, obviously I have to take it down," Van Rheen said of his plans going forward. "But I'm still failing to see what law is being broken. I can see if you were selling the device with games..."
