How do Giveaway accounts work?

Hello, 

 

I am Curious. I am curious about how giveaway accounts work? Maybe it is a noob or a silly question to many, but I genuinely do not know the answer to my question. 

So, I saw a lot of generous members giving away Premium VPN, and Online Streaming accounts which work great unlike the accounts we find outside this site on some random blogs. 

So my question is, all these premium accounts must be of someone, right? Someone must have bought them and must be using them right now from some xyz location, right? So, if someone else is using them, then how exactly did we get their account, and why is the account not banned when used by multiple people from different locations.  I am really curious, and there is also a good chance that I may have got the entire concept wrong here, in which case please do let me know how exactly these things work.

Some sites don't check IPs, and some people use insecure passwords which are leaked.

Other people paid for a service (e.g. 1 year subscription), and rarely use it so could post their details somewhere. 

Eitherway, I've often found the passwords get changed not long after posting, be that by whoever snatched the account, or the account owner noticing
