I find this thread very interesting since I've been an IE user for many years and I've been pondering switching over to Firefox. Is it really worth it? Given all the new bugs in IE8, it's really starting to frustrate me.

Speed is not everything.

I think that both Chrome and Opera are faster, but my favorite browser is definitely Firefox.

I am currently using 3.0.14 as 3.5 is not stable enough for my taste on Linux Mint.

Seriously, for me Firefox is my prefered browser, but IE8 is faster. Addons slow firefox down alot, but the sacrifce of a second or so is worth it.

Linkification is one addon that I like, along with adblockpro, imagebot & Flashgot/DownThemAll

Opera and Chrome were fast last time I used them, but lacked features.

Edit: I think the poll Q. should be 'Which browser do you think is faster'.

Guarantee that if you do switch to Firefox and realize its functionality, you will only use IE8 when you have an issue with firefox, which is not that often and usually related to addons or the Cache needs clearing.

It's definately Google Chrome. Firefox is fast too but if you've installed some add-on it's getting slower and slower. so for me Google, although there's lot to improve about GC
