Method 1: Turn Off  ‘Smooth Scrolling’  In Google Chrome

Here are the steps to turn off the Smooth Scrolling in Google Chrome.

Step 1: Launch the Google Chrome Browser and open a new tab.

Step 2: In the address bar of the new tab on the top, type “Chrome://flags”.

Step 3: A list of Chrome Flags will be displayed. Scroll down and locate a flag labelled as Smooth Scrolling.

Step 4: Next, select the drop-down next to it and choose the Disabled option.

Step 5: Click on the Relaunch option.

This method can resolve Google Chrome Flickering on Windows 10. Check if your issue has been resolved, else move forward to the next step.

Method 2: Disable ‘Use Hardware Acceleration When Available

The next step also involves changing another of Google Chrome’s settings and involves turning off the hardware acceleration. Here are the steps listed to resolve this issue:

Step 1: Open Google Chrome browser and click on the three dots on the dot right corner to view a drop-down of options.

Step 2: Click on Settings and a new settings tab will open.

Step 3: On the left panel of the Settings tab, click on Advanced to reveal further options and then choose System.

Step 4: Once you have successfully clicked on the System, you will see certain options change on the left side of the screen.

Step 5: Toggle the slider button next to “Use Hardware Acceleration When Available” toward the left to turn it off.

Step 6: Exit Chrome and relaunch it to check if the Google Chrome flickering in Windows 10 issue has been resolved.

Method 3: Fix Background And Colors

This option involves a change of settings in your Windows 10 PC and below are the steps listed to accomplish just that.

Step 1: Press Windows + I to open the Settings window.

Step 2: Click on the Personalization option and select Background in the new window that opens on the left panel.
Step 3:  Next, click on the dropdown under Background and select Solid Color.

Step 4: This will ensure a solid and stable background stays on your desktop and consume fewer resources as well. Now, check again if you are still facing Google Chrome Flickering on Windows 10.

Method 4: Update Graphics Drivers

The final method to get rid of Google Chrome Flickering on Windows 10 issue is to update your drivers. Drivers are small programs that communicate between the Hardware and Software. There are two ways to update the drivers: Automatic and Manual.

Manual Method. This method involves using the Microsoft’s in-built tool known as the Device Manager that can be initiated to run a scan for the drivers and update them depending on the availability of updated drivers on the Microsoft Servers. This method requires certain technical skills and consumes considerable time and effort. Here are the steps to update drivers using Device Managers:

Step 1: Press Windows + R to open the Run window and type “devmgmt.msc” in the search tab.

Step 2: Click on OK and wait until the Device Manager window opens.

Step 3: Click on Display Adapters and then make a right-click on your graphics card listed underneath it.

Step 4: From the contextual menu, click on Update drivers and follow the on-screen options.

The Device Manager will automatically search for the best driver available and install it on your computer.

Automatic method. The second method involves using a third-party tool or a driver updater software like Smart Driver Care. Personally, I have been using this application for a couple of years and it has enhanced the performance of my system. With updated drivers, the system runs smoothly and faster than before as the hardware and software can establish uninterrupted communication between them. Smart Driver Care finds outdated, missing, and corrupted drivers and replaces them with newer, updated, and most compatible ones from the internet. Here are the steps to use Smart Driver Care:
