I just found a Logitech M505 lasor and it has a function that allows you to use the wheel to go back and forward on web pages. No more back buttons or using the back arrow in the toolbar. Great Device.

2 types: for general use smallest ones aka mini-mouse etc. They don't strain the muscles in the palm and top parts of fingers. With a normal big mouse after persistent long use the hand is actually damaged with RSI. This was my personal experience too. 2nd type is 'flat mouse' which gives extra precision in graphics apps and is standard in high-end SFX, design, CAD, architecture, etc. Both types are very cheap on ebay except for a very high precision flat mouse.

For using a mouse over long periods a 'wrist rest' is esential. Then the arm & hand feel as though they are not working. Google-images for DIY versions where a small soft toy or sock filled with soft materials are used. The good ones sold have small balls in them that massage the wrist and are even beter.

my mouse is hairless

;)

Razer Lachesis

I've had it for about three or four years and I've yet to be disappointed.

Granted it was rather expensive, about $70, it is by far the most precise and useful mouse I've used.

Nine programmable buttons, 4000dpi, multiple profiles... and its sexy as hell.
