Pokémon GO Announces Two-Day Eevee Community Day For August

AR mobile game Pokémon GO announced a two-day Eevee Community Day for August. The weekend-long event will feature the various Eevee-lutions, as well as many other Eevee-related bonuses and events, as is par the course for Community Day in Pokémon GO.

This Community Day appears it will run either alongside the Dialga and Palkia Pokémon GO event, which was just announced yesterday. That event will be broken up into parts, with part one beginning July 23 and running through August 3. Part two will subsequently begin August 6 and run through the 17th. This means that not only will trainers be able to catch two-thirds of the creation trio, but they will also have a chance to catch all of the Eevee-lutions and teach them exclusive moves.

Earlier today, Pokémon GO posted a new blog detailing the upcoming two-day celebration of Eevee. Beginning on Friday, August 13, and ending on Monday, August 16, 2021, evolving Eevee into any of its next forms will grant it an exclusive move. Vaporeon gets the move Scald, Jolteon gets Zap Cannon, Flareon learns Superpower, Espeon will have Shadow Ball, Umbreon gets Psychic, Leafeon receives Bullet Seed, Glaceon learns Water Pulse, and Sylveon will have Psyshock. The announcement also notes that any Eevee caught or hatched during the above timeframe will already know the move Last Resort. There will also be special timed research that will reward trainers with both a mossy and glacial lure module, which are necessary to unlock Leafeon and Glaceon respectively.

There is also an exclusive research story, "What You Choose to Be," that trainers can access for $1 USD Saturday and Sunday of the event. Eevee will appear more frequently during this time and the odds of encountering a shiny will be boosted. And of course, there are the typical, universal Community Day boosts including eggs requiring a quarter of their usual hatch distance, incense lasting three hours, and lure modules lasting three hours as well.

Online, fan response to the announcement is largely mixed, as Eevee has previously had its own Community Day. However, trainers who missed that first Eevee Community Day appear thrilled to have another chance at it, as Eevee is one of the more popular Pokémon. Additionally, some of the special moves that the Eevee-loutions can learn provide some PvP usability, namely Flareon and Umbreon's.

A repeat Community Day may not be something every trainer wanted, but for them, there are still the Ultra Unlock events starring Dialga and Palkia. The latest Pokémon GO fest was ridiculously successful, showing that as COVID-19 pandemic restrictions are lifted (in some parts of the world), Pokémon GO trainers are ready to get back to exploring and catching their favorite pokémon.
