V/H/S 4 Gets October Release Date

The fourth installment of the V/H/S horror anthology franchise, V/H/S/94, will debut this October on Shudder. Each iteration of the series starts with people finding old VHS tapes, which they then watch. Each tape acts as a horrifying short film written and directed by different creators, and V/H/S/94 looks to continue the trend while also serving as a reboot. The first film followed a group of burglars, the second featured private investigators, and the third film followed a man obsessed with fame. Now, V/H/S/94 is said to follow a S.W.A.T. team investigating a VHS tape that leads them to the discovery of an evil cult.

According to Bloody Disgusting, V/H/S/94 will debut on Shudder on October 6, 2021, and will feature an eclectic group of talented creators. David Bruckner, who directed the first film's "Amateur Night" segment, is on board as an executive producer. Simon Barrett, who previously worked on the first two films, and is best known for writing You're Next, The Guest, and Blair Witch, will be writing and helming part of the film. Timo Tjahjanto, who also has previous ties to the franchise and is best known for The Night Comes For Us and Headshot, will also be writing and directing a segment.

Along with established talent, V/H/S/94 looks to add up-and-coming genre filmmakers. Chloe Okuno will be taking on a segment after the success of her short film Slut. Jennifer Reeder is also on board, and while her resume is a bit longer, she's mainly known for her feature film Knives and Skin. Finally, Ryan Prows rounds out the behind-the-scenes talent of writers and directors, and he's best known for 2017's Lowlife. While the nature of each individual segment is still unknown, V/H/S/94 looks to bring together a talented group that is sure to deliver the scares when the film releases in October.
