Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan is filled with plenty of little details referencing Super Mario IP for fans to discover. While a few of the bigger Easter eggs have become common knowledge due to a litany of articles and videos, a seemingly unknown Rosalina cameo has now been discovered.

After a series of setbacks and delays, Universal Studios Japan's Super Nintendo World opened to the public in March earlier this year. The immersive theme park area has been lauded by casual and diehard fans alike, although Super Nintendo World was forced to temporarily shut down due to the ongooing coronavirus pandemic. The shutdown reportedly lasted about a month, although the rise in delta variant cases poises another threat.

Super Nintendo World primarily features the core cast from the world of Super Mario. Characters like the titular Mario, Yoshi, Peach, Toad, and Bowser all have a strong presence with plenty of imagery throughout attractions, food, merchandise, and more. However, visitors have discovered Princess Rosalina in a rather obscure place in the park. Super Nintendo World features several augmented reality telescopes, which can be seen in the video below. The telescopes reveal many things within the park, but the most unique is when zooming in on a "star," fans will see Rosalina flying around the Comet Observatory from Super Mario Galaxy, her debut appearance.

The video goes on to reveal a few more hidden details about Super Nintendo World, including a big indicator that the secretive Donkey Kong expansion may already be underway. Dataminers have already revealed several image assets from the IP, as well as a leaked scale model of the new park section and photos revealing a familiar jungle skyline. Despite the virtual radio silence from Nintendo, the video points out that a large Donkey Kong-themed gate is at the back of Super Nintendo World with looming construction cranes, cementing that the expansion may be coming sooner than later.

Rosalina's Super Nintendo World cameo isn't the only unexpected place for the fan-favorite character to show up. A couple of months ago, the highly anticipated sequel title Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope revealed its first gameplay trailer. While players expected new elements and a new setting, one of the biggest revelations came with the reveal of Rabbid Rosalina. Many fans are theorizing this could be a herald for a Super Mario Galaxy 3, though there isn't any substantial evidence to bolster the idea.

The Rosalina cameo in Universal Studios Japan's Super Nintendo World is a creative Easter egg, and goes to show the amount of thought and detail that went in to creating the immersive land. Stateside Nintendo fans won't get a chance to experience the theme park until at least 2022, but Super Nintendo World merchandise has already begun appearing at Universal Studios Hollywood.
