Pokemon Unite Players Are Hoping for a Balance Patch Alongside Blastoise

Recommended Posts

Pokemon Unite fans will finally have their day of celebration, as Blastoise enters the game on September 1. Fans have suspected a balance patch to come alongside Blastoise for a multitude of reasons. Pokemon Unite will likely see some lapsed fans return after it finally adds Blastoise, and many of these fans may add to the demand for balance patches.

Pokemon Unite has gone through several patches since its release, and players have had mixed feelings about the effectiveness of those changes. Many fans have a list of changes Pokemon Unite needs to make, but the hype for Blastoise may far overshadow any changes the developers eventually choose. With Blastoise being among the most requested Pokemon to be added to the game since launch, it's no wonder the community may overlook a balance patch at the same time.

However, fans are predicting a balance patch because when Blissey was added the update included a balance patch as well, which may be replicated with the Blastoise update. Alternatively, some fans argue this consistency has not held up, as Gardevoir was released without an attached game patch. Regardless of whether there's an update or not, if the addition of Blastoise shakes up the meta as much as many Blissey builds currently have, players will have something new to worry about.

With so many popular Pokemon still yet to be added, the addition of Blastoise may settle the community's hype and refocus the players to the core of the game. If a successful balance patch is indeed released alongside the Pokemon, though, the game may see its player count rise in the coming weeks. For many current players, there are a lot of complaints with the ranked system and matchmaking that have yet to be resolved through any updates.

The Pokemon Unite team most likely will want to fix many current issues with the game before the Pokemon Unite mobile release. Now that the mobile registration has hit over two and a half million registrations, the game promises additional tickets to incoming players and a free Pikachu unite license. Hopefully, the addition of some much-needed changes to the game will allow the mobile release to retain a large percentage of the new players it currently promises.

Pokemon Unite is available now on Nintendo Switch. It releases on September 22 for mobile devices.
