An Aquaman cosplayer absolutely nails Jason Momoa's look from the movie, including his full costume and tattoos. After a brief cameo in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Arthur Curry (Momoa) made his full DCEU debut in 2017's team-up Justice League. Though that film bombed at the box office, Aquaman's first solo outing the following year fared much better, exceeding expectations by grossing over a billion dollars worldwide. Momoa's sea-dwelling superhero also appeared in Zack Snyder's Justice League earlier this year.

Now, much of the Aquaman cast, including director James Wan, are returning for a sequel officially titled Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Arthur's love interest and Atlantis ally, Princess Mera (Amber Heard), his half-brother Orm Marius/Ocean Master (Patrick Wilson), and his father Tom Curry (Temuera Morrison) are all confirmed to return, along with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as David Kane/Black Manta and Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus. Games of Thrones' Euron Greyjoy actor, Pilou Asbaek, has also joined the cast in a mystery role. As with every blockbuster, plot details are under wraps, but the film's titular Lost Kingdom will likely play a significant role, as Aquaman struggles to unite them with the other six kingdoms.

While fans wait for updates regarding the sequel, model Billy Dunston has some amazing Aquaman cosplay to help hold them over. The photos were taken by professional photographer, Lance Allen Reis, and shared to the Instagram account kickassdesigns, which show Dunston absolutely nailing Momoa's Aquaman look from the golden costume, tribal tattoos, and Trident of Neptune. Check out the photos below:

The cosplayer does slightly resemble Jason Momoa, but most of the magic here comes from the faithful recreation of the golden armor and aquatic tattoos. It probably took a lot of time, attention to detail, and love for the craft of cosplaying to pull this off. Perhaps this cosplayer and photographer will collaborate again very soon to produce some more stunning results. If not, Momoa's version will be seen in Aquaman 2 coming in December of next year.

This Aquaman cosplay is also an example of how Momoa's portrayal has become the default image of the character in so many fans' minds. For the longest time, the character of Aquaman was not taken seriously by audiences and the mere mention of his name was considered a joke. By casting an actor like Momoa, the DCEU seemed to do the impossible of turning Aquaman into a rough and tough outlaw. With other Justice League actors like Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck on their way out of the DCEU, it looks like Momoa's Aquaman is sticking around for the foreseeable future.
