All Elite Wrestling may have just had its biggest weekend of the pro wrestling company's short lifespan. The All Out Pay-Per-View is believed to be the biggest non-WWE PPV event in 20 years, buoyed by the involvement of ex-WWE wrestlers Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson. The excitement surrounding AEW and All Out has led video game fans to ask for more regarding AEW's upcoming wrestling game, and AEW has delivered. A new trailer featuring unreleased footage featuring Jungle Boy has now been released.

Those following the development of the AEW video game know that very little has been information shared about the game. It's still mid-development, with a tentative release window of 2022 planned. What has been shown is a look at the AEW video game's basic gameplay with a single character model for Darby Allin, in which he does a few of his signature moves. The latest gameplay clip now features young star Jungle Boy, as well.

The clip shows Jungle Boy performing a variety of his most familiar wrestling moves against Darby Allin. Those moves include a springboard armdrag, a springboard swinging DDT, and a combination leading into his latest addition to his arsenal, the Snare Trap hold. They even throw in a nasty-looking lariat that leaves Darby's head spinning. In addition to his moveset, Jungle Boy also does a taunt in which he slaps his chest and then raises his hand to rest above his eyes, shading them as he looks out at the crowd.

What the short trailer is intended to do is show that the development of the AEW video game is moving along and that AEW's stars are being added to its roster one by one. So far, only Darby Allin and Jungle Boy have been confirmed, though Jericho, Kenny Omega, and Shida were all teased in an earlier iteration of the game.

Obviously, the animations for wrestlers' individual moves themselves do depict gameplay, but just a small part of it. AEW has yet to share a full match from its video game. Systems for strikes, locking up with an opponent, and more complex mechanics like health and being stunned are likely still in development. As such, it's hard to tell if AEW and developer Yuke's are delivering the classic pro wrestling game experience that was promised.

At this point, it may not even matter if AEW and Yuke's deliver a classic experience as promised or if they make a more modern pro wrestling game. AEW is becoming more and more popular seemingly every week, and with WWE's recent 2K games disappointing, and its upcoming release frequently delayed, pro wrestling fans really just want a game to play. AEW has yet another big opportunity before it.

The AEW video game is currently in development.
