After receiving fan feedback, Bungie has confirmed it is working on a fix for an issue regarding Destiny 2's Firing Line perk. Players are currently experiencing an unintentionally decreased precision bonus and Bungie expects to have it fixed in an upcoming update.

Destiny 2 fans are no strangers to big nerfs in the game, but this Firing Line bug isn't associated with any of the recently decreased values associated with it. Firing Line is useful for team play in Destiny 2 due to its precision bonus for being near two or more allies. Destiny 2 fans who play in groups were quick to notice recent changes to the perk and have looked to Bungie for answers.

Reddit user Dragonian Sun recently implored Bungie to clarify the issues that Destiny 2 players are experiencing with Firing Line's weapon damage increase. Although some Destiny 2 fans might not have noticed the recent nerfs to the weapon perk, others have questioned if the perk is worth using due to the drop in quality. According to some number crunching, the precision damage bonus from Firing Line has dropped to 20% from just over 30% from before.

Bungie was quick to respond to Dragonian Sun, stating that the recent Firing Line changes were unintentional and that the team is working on the issue already. Although the Bungie employee known as Cozmo23 on Reddit stated that this issue is a bug, some fans have suggested it was a mistake in damage adjustments affecting the precision of Firing Line. Regardless, a fix will be made for the perk in an update, though Bungie hasn't confirmed a date for the fix.

Known Destiny 2 YouTuber Ehroar has also discussed the recent changes to Firing Line and what players can expect when it's fixed. Since the perk's dip in quality, Destiny 2 fans like Ehroar have opted to use perks such as Vorpal Weapon in Firing Line's place for now, in anticipation of an upcoming fix. Explosive Light is another perk in Destiny 2 that has a similar effect to Firing Line.

While Vorpal Weapon is another Destiny 2 perk that will increase weapon damage, there's less emphasis on precision. Vorpal Weapon will increase damage against bosses, Guardians with an active Super, and vehicles. Explosive Light on the other hand will increase the blast radius of a projectile, increasing the precision as a result.

Firing Line was previously a reliable perk for snipers in particular, but the recent changes have made it less viable. Bungie's fix for the perk may be a while, but the descriptive text for it hasn't been changed to reflect the issues players are experiencing. Some Destiny 2 fans may still be willing to use the Firing Line perk despite the changes, but in some cases, it will be to their detriment.

Destiny 2 is available right now for Google Stadia, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
