Bungie released Destiny 2 in 2017, but the company continues to add new content to the game including new weapons, raids, Strikes, and Crucible maps. One player recently noticed a fun detail about the Chrysura Melo when firing it specifically in Devil's Lair.

The Devil's Lair is a Strike in Destiny 2 located in Old Russia and it's part of the Nothing Left but the Fall quest. Reddit user Soracaz recently noted that the new Chrysura Melo auto rifle produces an interesting effect in the Devil's Lair. Firing the rifle in the boss room specifically, Soracaz noticed that the gun fires in line with the orchestral music for the intense final battle of the Nightfall version of the Strike.

The Chrysura Melo rifle fires bullets at 360 rounds-per-minute, while the Devil's Lair boss theme plays at a slower 120 beats-per-minute. Math and music experts can quickly tell how compatible these numbers are for each other, but Destiny 2 fans may not necessarily know what this might sound like without hearing it. Firing the Chrysura Melo rifle in line with the Devil's Lair music will produce perfect triplets, adding to the already excellent score.

Much of the music in Destiny 2 is already immersive, putting you in the boots of a Guardian traveling from one planet to the next. Boss battles in Strikes and Raids are notably complimented by intense music to match the intense gameplay and the Devil's Lair music is no different. The standard Devil's Lair Strike has a symphonic sound to it, while the Nightfall Strike offers a rock version that's even more in line with this immersive detail.

While the Chrysura Melo rifle gives Destiny 2 fans a fun way to interact with not just the open environment but the music itself, Bungie may not have intended for the sound to match the Devil's Lair boss theme so well. Because of the weapon's even RPM, it may fit other Destiny 2 tracks just as serendipitously. Some Destiny 2 fans who were alerted to this detail by Soracaz and are equipped with this Destiny 2 auto rifle have already returned to Earth to confirm it for themselves.

Weapons are subject to nerfs, so the RPM of the Chrysura Melo auto rifle may be reduced in the future, making now the ideal time for the musically inclined to check out this detail in Devil's Lair. The addition of the triplets produced by the Chrysura Melo rifle gives the Devil's Lair music an even more heightened and memorable sound. No Bungie developers have discussed this Strike detail or whether or not it was intentional prior to the recent addition of the Chrysura Melo Rifle.

Destiny 2 is available right now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
