Safer Internet Day 2023.

Today is Safer Internet Day, and we would like to provide you with some advice on the security of your user accounts. We also want to reward our most security-conscious users!

Our short advice is as follows:

1) If you haven't done so yet, consider using two-step authentication (2FA)! With its help, you can keep your account more secure, as you can keep unauthorized persons away even if they have already obtained your password.

2) If you are already using the options provided by 2FA, please check whether you have saved your backup codes, because if you do not have them, you will be permanently locked out of your account in the event of an unexpected failure of your phone! Backup codes can be viewed in the Settings > Security menu.

3) It is important that you use an up-to-date and properly functioning e-mail address on the site, otherwise you risk losing your account! You can check your registered e-mail address in the Settings menu and, if necessary, change it there.
Our e-mails are often not received by the following service providers, which is why we do not consider them reliable: @freemail.hu, @citromail.hu, @VIPmail.hu, @indamail.hu, @gmail.hu, @digikabel.hu.

4) Protect your user account with a unique password that you have not used on other sites. Otherwise, your nCore account may also be compromised due to data leaks from other sites. Passwords must be at least 8 characters long and avoid using meaningful words! Do not write down the password anywhere, if necessary, use a password management application and a strong master password!

5) If you haven't done so yet, consider using the HTTPS tracker. This results in a secure, encrypted connection between the torrent client and nCore's tracker.

6) It is also worth considering using a VPN service. The use of a VPN hides the distributed data from the Internet service provider and other unauthorized persons.
