The first TV spot has arrived for Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, in which we get a new look at Caesar’s army of apes.

“You know the scary thing about them?” asks the trailer’s voiceover. “They don’t need power… lights, heat, nothing. That’s their advantage.”

There’s also the fact that they’re now riding on horseback, which is more than a little intimidating. Pesky apes!

The new film will pick up ten years after the events of the first film, with Caesar’s band of super-evolved apes finding themselves threatened by a group of human survivors of the virus that has decimated the population.

Directed by Matt Reeves and co-starring Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke and Gary Oldman, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes will open in the UK on 17 July 2014.
