Jurgen Klopp insists he will not quit as manager of Borussia Dortmund after a 2-1 defeat to Werder Bremen left his side second-bottom of the Bundesliga.

Bremen were bottom of the division prior the game at Weserstadion but moved above their opponents after racing into a two-goal lead through teenage striker Davie Selke and midfielder Fins Bartel.

Germany defender Mats Hummels gave Dortmund hope with a diving header but they could yet finish the year bottom of the league.

Klopp told German TV: "I am totally responsible and I am not just going to throw in the towel and follow everything from a distance.

"I can promise that we're going to put right what we've done wrong and we're going to be angry hunters.

"It's going to be far harder to beat us in the second half of the season."

Dortmund, who won their Champions League group, have secured just one victory in their last six Bundesliga games and sit second-bottom with only 15 points in 17 games.

Hummels: "We're all trying to work out what's behind it all," said defender Mats Hummels. "We've managed pretty well at home in recent weeks, but not at all away.

"It's pretty astonishing that we are so pathetic."
