  5. Following the success of Kingsman: The Secret Service last year, 20th Century Fox understandably ordered a sequel, which has since been titled Kingsman: The Golden Circle. As production looms closer, more casting announcements have been coming out, and tonight brings news of another actor who’s been brought aboard, though it’s not some we necessarily would have predicted: Channing Tatum. Tatum made the news official on his Twitter account, proclaiming that he’s about to "get up in that Golden Circle." The sentence underneath the sunglasses in the picture reads, "My momma always told me the British gave us Southerners our good manners." It’s hard to tell from this tweet whether Tatum will have a major role in Kingsman: The Golden Circle or simply make a minor appearance, but either way, moviegoers can look forward to him getting involved in Mark Millar’s world of spies, intrigue and exaggerated action. Following the explosive events of Kingsman: The Secret Service, Kingsman: The Golden Circle will follow our beloved protagonist, Gary "Eggsy" Unwin, and his ally Merlin as they join forces with the United States’ Kingsman counterpart, Statesman, after Kingsman is destroyed by the movie’s main antagonist. If we had to guess, Channing Tatum is probably playing one of the top Statesman agents, and he has been assigned to work with Eggsy and Merlin on their new mission. If he’s as Southern as we’re led to believe in the tweet, he should make an amusing contrast to Eggsy and Merlin’s British demeanors. That said, the spy game is a dangerous and manipulative one, so we should prepare ourselves for the possibility that Tatum’s character may have sinister intentions. Having become a household name in the past couple years, Channing Tatum’s most recent movies include the Jump Street series, the Magic Mike series, Foxcatcher and The Hateful Eight. He most recently appeared as Burt Gurney in Hail, Caesar and is set to play Remy LeBeau, a.k.a. Gambit, in the same-named X-Men spinoff, though that recently got moved out of its original October 2016 release date. Well, if the latter doesn’t end up working out, at least Kingsman: The Golden Circle will count towards participating in a comic book movie adaptation. Tatum is just the latest actor who’s been added to Kingsman: The Golden Circle’s ever-growing cast. The past week alone has seen Game of Thrones’ Pedro Pascal and Sir Elton John in crucial roles. Julianne Moore and Halle Berry have also reportedly joined as the movie’s villain and the head of the CIA, respectively. Besides Taron Egerton as Eggsy, other returning folks include Mark Strong as Merlin and Sophie Cookson as Roxy Morton, while Colin Firth’s character, Harry Hart, and and Edward Holcroft’s character, Charlie Hesketh, are potentially coming back as well despite them being seemingly killed in the last movie. With Matthew Vaughn back in the director’s chair, Kingsman: The Golden Circle hits theaters on June 16, 2017
  6. The role of young Han Solo for Disney's untitled Star Wars story anthology is one that's been hotly competed, with the field going from a massive list of candidates to a manageable short-list in seemingly record time. Now, we've received information that one name above all others is in a commanding lead to play the younger incarnation of the infamously roguish smuggler. If you're an Alden Ehrenreich fan, then today's your lucky day, as he's the man at the top of the heap! A source close to the untitled spin-off's production gave Deadline the leg up, stating that Ehrenreich was so impressive that he jumped to the head of a list that included such candidates as Transformers: Age Of Extinction's Jack Reynor, Kingsman: The Secret Service's Taron Egerton, and Brooklyn's Emory Cohen. Naturally, while this item is a rumor from the usual "sources close to the production," it doesn't seem like too much of a stretch for this to be true. Which is good, considering how it's hard not to get excited about Alden Ehrenreich's possible participation in the Phil Lord / Chris Miller directed spin-off. While Ehrenreich has had roles in such moderate visibility films as Beautiful Creatures and Blue Jasmine, his greatest claim to fame has been the role of Hobie Doyle in this year's Coen Brothers offering Hail, Caesar! Alden Ehrenreich's portrayal of the lovable, but slightly dim cowboy earned him some of the raves that the screwball comedy had logged in its theatrical release. In fact, if you remember the pre-release materials that were released earlier this year, it only took one trailer for the relatively fresh actor to become the breakout star of the film. Between the quick comedic timing, as well as his extraordinary levels of cowboy swagger, Alden Ehrenreich seems like the perfect front-runner for the young Han Solo spin-off that follows Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in the canon of standalone films that will help fill in the gaps of the Star Wars universe. Though we'd venture a guess that if Ehrenreich's hypothetically charming performance translates into similarly impressive box office numbers, the adventures of the smuggler from Corellia might become a sort of mini-franchise of their own. Though we'll have to wait until 2018 for the as of yet untitled Han Solo spin-off, Alden Ehrenreich can next be seen in Warren Beatty's Howard Hughes biopic, which will be released at some point this awards season.
  7. Taylor Swift is enjoying having a break from making music and isn't certain when she'll next release an album. The American singer-songwriter's fifth album, pop-focused 1989, was released in 2014 and sold more copies in its opening week than any album in the previous 12 years, making Taylor the first and only act to have three albums sell more than one million copies in the opening release week. In spite of her incredible success, the Bad Blood singer reveals she isn't putting pressure on herself to push out more hit music. In an interview for the May edition of America's Vogue, Taylor states that she has "no idea" when she will return to the recording studio. "This is the first time in 10 years that I haven’t known. I just decided that after the past year, with all of the unbelievable things that happened, I decided I was going to live my life a little bit without the pressure on myself to create something," she told Vogue. But while the 26-year-old admits she is interested in pursuing a fashion line in the future, she is quick to reassure fans that she is not abandoning music altogether. "I’m always going to be writing songs," she explained. "The thing is, with me, I could very well come up with three things in the next two weeks and then jump back into the studio, and all of a sudden the next record is started. That’s an option, too." The blonde beauty, who poses for the fashion magazine's cover in a metallic mini-dress, adds she has many short term goals that aren't related to music and would like to learn CPR, how to change a tyre and to be a "well-rounded person who can make a good drink". Further, Taylor shares that her relationship with Scottish DJ/producer Calvin Harris is moving along nicely. "I’m just taking things as they come," she smiled. "I’m in a magical relationship right now."
  8. Singer Kelly Clarkson has given birth to her second child. The pop star announced via Twitter on Thursday (14Apr16) that she delivered her baby boy on Tuesday (12Apr16). Kelly and husband Brandon Blackstock have named their son Remington. "Our little baby boy has arrived!! Remington Alexander Blackstock was born 4/12/16 & he is healthy & we couldn't be happier or more in love!" she tweeted. Kelly revealed in August last year (15) that she was expecting her second child with Brandon, during an emotional performance at L.A.'s Staples Center. Kelly and Brandon tied the knot in Tennessee in October 2013 after two years of dating, and welcomed daughter River Rose in June 2014. Brandon, 39, is also dad of daughter Savannah, 14, and son Seth, 8, from a previous relationship. A heavily pregnant Kelly, 33, appeared on TV just last week, for the final of American Idol, the TV talent show which launched her career in music. She was warned by doctors earlier this year (16) not to attend both an Idol show and the Grammys as she had been experiencing a difficult pregnancy, so the Since U Been Gone singer opted for the TV talent show over music's big night. Kelly also previously admitted this will be the last time she's going through the pregnancy process since the journey has not been an easy one for her. "Oh, no, we are done," the pop star told Australia's KIIS FM radio station. "Oh good Lord, yes, I can't be pregnant again. This will be our number four total, so we're good... Honestly, the first one was really rough, and I was like, 'Oh, it can't happen again,' and no, it happened, like, way worse this time." Kelly revealed she suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, a condition which results in severe nausea, vomiting, weight loss and dehydration.
  9. Gavin Rossdale has agreed to divide assets in favour of Gwen Stefani rather than push for an equal split in their divorce settlement. The No Doubt frontwoman announced she was splitting from the rocker in August (15) after 13 years of marriage, and asked for joint custody of their three sons Kingston, nine, Zuma, seven, and Apollo, two. The former couple did not have a prenuptial agreement so Gavin was entitled to receive half of the assets they acquired during the marriage, in accordance with Californian law, but he has reportedly opted against taking money she earned through concert and record sales, according to TMZ.com. Gavin is also not asking for child support and they will split custody evenly, but the Bush frontman will look after the boys most often due to Gwen's busy schedule. The settlement is complete and just needs a judge to approve it before their divorce will be officially finalised, according to the website. The split inspired Gwen, 46, to write her new solo album This Is What the Truth Feels Like, and she recently told U.S. show Good Morning America that she was still reeling from the end of her marriage. "It's still painful, I'm still looking at the pieces going, 'What is happening?,'" she said. "There's so many great things, but it's still super hard to, like, have your family break up. What do you do after that? It's like, 'Here we are, we're doing it.' "I felt like I was so... I was embarrassed and I was like, 'Wow, I can't go down, this is not who I am, I am not gonna fail,'" she recalled. "I had to make something good out of it, so I tried to write, because I know that that was my gift, and I was like, 'I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna make this into music'... It feels like I'm supposed to be doing this right now and sharing my story." She has since found love with country singer and fellow The Voice U.S. coach Blake Shelton.
  10. Music-News.com can exclusively unveil the new new AM2PM remix video of Peppermint Heaven's The Cage That We Live In. https://youtu.be/ozYNqaqwryA After cutting their teeth playing the Chicago indie club scene several years back, Peppermint Heaven aka Juno (Vocals, Keyboards) and Spark (Vocals, Bass, Drums) separately made the long trek from Chicago to LA eventually winding up together in the summer of 2011 when they began creating their own tasty brand of 80s-influenced indie pop, replete with heavenly harmonies, Juno’s delicious keyboard hooks and Spark’s inventive bass ‘n’ beats. Taking their name from an obscure pre-Smiths Morrissey song, Peppermint Heaven found a home at indie band playground The Bedrock in LA’s storied Echo Park area and several months of playing, writing, recording, mixing, and honing their sound followed. After a wintry trip to London in early 2013, the boys decided that the UK would be the perfect launching pad for the band. This made perfect sense, as many of their influences hail from the UK (Tears For Fears, Pet Shop Boys, Simple Minds, New Order, Howard Jones, Psychedelic Furs to name a few). Having unveiled their debut EP, the aptly titled The Delicious EP, last year, the band were thrilled with the loving response the record received, including a Top 10 placing on Music Week’s dance chart. Building on their earlier efforts, the band returned to the studio impassioned by the response. With echoes of David Bowie, Morrissey, Erasure and Pet Shop Boys, but also boasting a distinctive Peppermint Heaven edge, the duo return with their ambitious debut album Precious Things. Hypnotic album opener Stranger Than Fiction is a clear demonstration of how the boys have raised their game. An intriguing dancefloor filler which sees Duran Duran meeting New Order, Spark and Juno show that they are plenty capable of reaching the arena highs of their musical idols. Journeying through the social comment of tantric The Cage That We Live In through to the uplifting breeze of The Girl I Used To Know and the irrepressible earworm Foreign Feeling (think Heaven 17), Precious Things is an ambitious debut that delivers what the duo have always promised – a big nostalgic 80s driven, contemporary pop record. A welcome breath of fresh air (Pop Wrapped) A real feat of music ingenuity (Music News) dark indie pop at its finest (Essentially Pop) Well worth getting hold of (Review Graveyard)
  11. Ringo Starr has joined Bruce Springsteen in boycotting the state of North Carolina over recent LGBT legislation. The government in Charlotte recently passed an ordinance that loosened the gender identification of transsexual people as far as public facilities were concerned. The state of North Carolina overrode the ordinance passing one that applied statewide that limited use of facilities to the gender listed on a person’s birth certificate. Springsteen was first out of the box, cancelling a Charlotte appearance and, now, Ringo Starr has followed suit, saying “I’m sorry to disappoint my fans in the area, but we need to take a stand against this hatred. Spread peace and love.” Starr and Springsteen are the two main artists who have outright cancelled appearances in the state while a number of others have sympathized with the issue but have decided to keep their appearances. Gregg Allman posted: For over 45 years, I’ve been fortunate to play music all around this country and the world. I’ve been honored to know and be friends with many different people from all walks of life. Although we, as a nation, have made progress in many areas, it’s sad and infuriating that some, in 2016, are still working so hard to take the rights away from our brothers and sisters, as in the cases of “bathroom laws” recently passed in North Carolina (HB2 – Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act) and Mississippi (“Religious Liberty” bill 1523), discriminating against the LGBT community. I know that North Carolina is a state full of good folks and loyal fans, many of whom are angry about and feel misrepresented by this action. My band and I will continue to play our show as scheduled there tomorrow, April 13, and hope that our music unites people in this challenging time. We stand in solidarity with the LGBT community urging Gov. McCrory to listen to the people and reverse this wrong. – Gregg Allman Jimmy Buffett said: North Carolina was there for me as a performer in the early days and I have always felt a loyalty to fans there that goes deep. Rightly so, a lot of people are reacting to the stupid law. I happen to believe that the majority of our fans in North Carolina feel the way I do about that law. I am lucky enough to have found a job in the business of fun. These shows were booked and sold out long before the governor signed that stupid law. I am not going to let stupidity or bigotry trump fun for my loyal fans this year. We will be playing in Raleigh and Charlotte next week. Brandi Carlile: As I’m crossing over the state line into the beautiful state of Massachusetts where I was legally married to my wife four years ago- I’m contemplating Bruce Springsteen and North Carolina- everywhere I’ve gone I’m being asked if I plan to cancel my shows. I should start by saying that I want to be Bruce Springsteen when I grow up. Bruce has decided on principal not to go through with his concert because of thinly veiled legislation having been passed that permits the discrimination of my LGBTQ brothers and sisters in NC. I deeply appreciate this, and I want to say on my own behalf thank you for doing what you’re doing guys. These are massive shows and this is big business lost for NC- Bruce is not LGBTQ himself- but is bravely defending those of us that are. This is how we’ve seen the progress that we’ve seen. As artists it’s our responsibility to take cause against those who would oppress our brothers and sisters and defend them using whatever power we possess. Bruce is an artist, but on behalf of NC LGBTQ citizens, also is poignantly depriving NC of the big business his event would bring- well done. For very different reasons I have decided not to cancel my North Carolina shows. I’m a small artist, and I’m gay, many of my fans are gay as well. To cancel my shows in NC would further oppress my fans who are hurt by this legislation, who worked hard to suppress it, and who need a place where they can come together. That’s why we intend to be in Wilkesboro, Charlotte, Asheville, and Greensboro this summer. We’re going to come together, let our voices be heard, not stand down, and make a joyful noise in the face of this insult of a law. We all have a role to play here. Bruce is playing his beautifully and I respect him. In my own humble way though, I want to witness the protest through music. See you in NC my friends. XoBC @springsteen Cyndi Lauper has also said she will go ahead with her North Carolina shows. VVN Music
  12. Singer Justin Bieber feels no shame over being a grown-up colouring book fan. Although the 22-year-old Baby hitmaker has been considered a full-fledged adult in the eyes of the law for several years now, he still falls prey to reverting back to his childlike ways every now and then. Tapping into his inner kid on Wednesday (13Apr16), Bieber shared an image on Instagram of his work, which featured the coloured-in figure of a sexy tribal hentai anime woman who is licking an ornate ax. "I colored this," he wrote in the caption. "its dope Cuz I actually sat down for 30 min and finished I never can sit still for that long so it's an accomplishment, yes this took me 30 minutes haha I know I suck Don't judge me." Bieber, who is known for his brilliant dance moves the world over, has previously spoken about why it can sometimes be a challenge for him to focus on a task or subject for a lengthy period of time. Back in 2010 while speaking with British newspaper The Guardian, the Sorry pop star admitted he becomes easily distracted by things, attributing this behaviour to the possibility he may suffer from Attention Deficit Disorder. "I have a small case of ADD," he explained. "It’s self-claimed.” “If I don’t understand something, and I’m bored, I don’t pay attention, so my teacher has to really make it fun for me,” he detailed. “Every hour he has to give me a five- to 10-minute break. But after the break, I’ll be back into it. I’ll be good.”

  14. Italy’s biggest music artist, Zucchero, returns with his new international album, BLACK CAT, on June 10th. With more than 60 million record sales, BLACK CAT has a rock-blues flavour recalling the atmosphere and the spontaneity of ORO, INCENSO E BIRRA, one of the best-selling Italian records worldwide and among the most significant in the history of Italian music. The album recorded during 2015 in X Y Z, sees Zucchero collaborate with producers. T-Bone Burnett (Elvis Costello, Elton John, Tony Bennett), Brendan O'Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan) and Don Was (Rolling Stones, Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan). Amongst the collaborators, BLACK CAT sees Zucchero team up with Bono who wrote the lyrics for "Streets of Surrender (S.O.S.)” after the Bataclan Paris tragedy in November 2015, and Elvis Costello who penned first single “Turn The World Down”. The album also features the extraordinary guitar work of Mark Knopfler, who plays on both "Streets of Surrender (SOS)" and “Ci Si Arrende”. BLACK CAT is his twelfth studio album. Among the greatest interpreters of Italian blues, Zucchero (born Adelmo Fornaciari) is the biggest selling Italian artist of all time. His album ORO, INCENSO E BIRRA sold more than eight million copies and was for a long time the biggest selling album in the history of Italian pop music worldwide. In a career spanning three decades, he has achieved international success, not least through his collaborations with artists including Eric Clapton, Miles Davis, Ray Charles, B.B King, Sting, Bono, Jeff Beck and Andrea Bocelli. He has been nominated for a Grammy and won two World Music Awards, four Festivalbar awards and six Wind Music Awards in his homeland Italy. Zucchero will be returning to the UK for a special concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall on October 20th, his fifth time at the prestigious venue. 15. Rapper Azealia Banks has accused Kanye West of ruining his brand after marrying Kim Kardashian. The outspoken 24-year-old has never been afraid of speaking her mind, and has waged wars of words on social media with the likes of Iggy Azalea, Erykah Badu and even former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Now, a day after she and Badu ended their months-long Twitter feud, it appears Azealia is looking for a new target, and when a follower suggested critics hate her because she has the potential to be as influential as Kanye, the young star didn't appreciate the comparison. "Kanye lost all credibility when he became a kardashian," she spat back. "i don't even look up to him anymore. i look past him...(sic)." She went on to explain she has nothing against the first family of reality TV, but feels Kim and her clan have detracted from Kanye's real purpose in life. "They're cute and all, I think they have nice gowns," she wrote, but suggested Kanye was "put here to do major cultural work" and he had traded that "for trying to make bootleg jay-z moves." It isn't the first time Azealia has spoken out against 38-year-old West, telling French publication Skyrock last year (15), she feared he was focusing too much on being accepted by "the white fashion world". "I feel a little sad for hip-hop in 2015 because I think that... aside from people like Kendrick Lamar and stuff like that, I think there’s a huge emphasis on kind of tailoring yourself to these dominant, white social norms, and there’s an emphasis on being accepted by white people or what I like to call 'The Big House'." she said. "I feel like there were artists like Kanye West, for example. Someone like Kanye West, when he first came out, it was a different thing, and now, he’s really focused on, like, being accepted by, like, the white fashion world, and it’s kind of like… It’s a little confusing." Meanwhile, Azealia's Twitter rants may have landed her in big trouble with U.S. politician Sarah Palin after it appeared she had suggested Palin should be sexually assaulted on camera in a series of since-deleted posts on the social media platform. Azealia has since apologised for the posts, but the former Governor of Alaska has revealed she plans to sue the musician over the comments.
