Jennifer Lopez knows what it's like to feel unsexy.

The star is considered one of the hottest women in show business, which she proves yet again with some seriously raunchy scenes in her latest film, The Boy Next Door.

In the thriller she plays Claire Peterson, a newly divorced woman who falls in love with a much younger man, played by Step Up hunk Ryan Guzman.

"I thought the woman and her story were really believable," she explained to German newspaper Bild.

"She gets a divorce because her husband cheated on her. She doesn't feel sexy anymore. Every woman can identify with that."

Jennifer, 45, has been married three times - to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd and Marc Anthony.

Her latest relationship with dancer Casper Smart ended last year, amid rumours he had cheated on her with transgender models. In the interview, Jennifer admits being betrayed is hard and that she has moments where she doesn't feel she looks her best.

However, her twins with ex-husband Marc, six-year-olds Max and Emme, keep her going.

"I always wanted a family," she smiled. "I feel so lucky to be a mother - my kids are my greatest treasure. That my love life would be so difficult is something no one could predict."

The star admits she felt very low after her last divorce, from Marc in 2014, but that she decided to get "better" rather than "bitter". It helped her identify with her character in The Boy Next Door.

"We all want to numb the pain at some point in our lives," she reasoned. "That could be with alcohol, it could be with sex. The question is always: how will I get through tomorrow? You think your life is going down the pan and then suddenly you realise there is light at the end of the tunnel."
