Karl-Anthony Towns’ Timberwolves future in doubt

Recommended Posts

THINGS are reportedly souring in Minnesota.

According to ESPN’s Zach Lowe, the Timberwolves and Karl-Anthony Towns’ relationship has taken a turn for the worse.

“I said on a podcast recently that I just have a gut feeling something crazy is gonna happen there this summer. It’s not in a good place right now internally.”

Brian Windhorst added more fuel to the fire, suggesting that a trade wasn’t out of the question.

“I don’t think Anthony Davis is going anywhere any time soon,” Windhorst said on the same podcast.

“But Towns … now that might be a different story.”

It’s an unfathomable situation; with the 2015 No.1 pick as close to an untradeable asset as you’re likely to find.

The 22-year-old is arguably the most skilled big man in the league.

When polled on which player they’d choose to start a new franchise with at the start of the season, Towns was the leading vote-getter — 29% of the 30 NBA general managers choosing the Kentucky product.

Minnesota reached the Western Conference Playoffs for the first time since 2004, with first-time All-Star Towns averaging 21.3 points, 12.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists in the regular season.
