‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 8 Scripts Vanish After Filming In Fear Of Piracy

Some shows will do anything to avoid spoilers being leaked, and Game of Thrones is no exception.

Due to it’s history of breaches involving security and both episodes and seasons being released on line, series star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau revealed in an interview with Elite Daily that upon filming being completed, episode scripts are deleted to avoid them getting out to the public. Said breaches have spoiled key moments for fans of the acclaimed series, and caused the series to be the most pirated TV show for six years.

While speaking to Elite Daily at the Cannes Film Festival, Coster-Waldau stated

“They’re very very strict. It’s reached a crazy level this year. We actually get the scripts, and then when we’ve shot the scene — and we only have it digitally — and then when you’ve done the scene, it just vanishes. It’s like Mission: Impossible. ‘This will self-destruct.’”

He also went on to state that the show was going out “the right way” and “on its’ own terms”, while not revealing how the show would end. Whether or not this measure will stop spoilers is something only time will tell.
