We Love This Awesome Key Art For BioWare's Anthem

Electronic Arts releases new key art for Anthem. Electronic Arts is in full tease mode ahead of their 2018 EA Play press conference. One of the publisher's most highly anticipated games won't be out this year, but that hasn't kept them from showing off a new piece of key art for BioWare's upcoming action role-playing game Anthem. Set to release in March of next year, the RPG will have a multiplayer focus and combines action and third-person shooter elements.

Anthem is the next game from BioWare's main studio in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The acclaimed studio is best known for their work on the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series, and is their first release since 2014's Dragon Age: Inquisition (Mass Effect: Andromeda was developed by the studio's Montreal branch). It was originally unveiled last year during Microsoft's E3 2018 press conference, and will feature more of an online focus than the developer's past titles.

The key art (which you can see in full below) showcases the game's four-player cooperative play where players can form a squad online in order to explore the role-playing game's open-world. Not much has been unveiled about Anthem in the year it's been announced, but Electronic Arts has unveiled that players will play the role of a Freelancer that use exosuits called Javelins in order to traverse the world. These suits can be customized with different abilities and so far two classes have been shown: Ranger, which serves as a balanced generalized class, and Colossus, which is a defense-prioritized character that is similar to a "tank" role in other games.

The new piece of art looks absolutely gorgeous and shows that BioWare's art design is still top-notch. The studio has always been known for creating stunning landscapes, and the brief tease of Anthem's open-world is a real sight to behold. It's sure to get fans excited to see more of the game at Electronic Arts' press conference later this month.

If Anthem does release early next year like planned, then it only makes sense for it to play a pivotal role at the company's EA Play event. The few minutes of gameplay that were shown last year was enough to make it one of the most highly anticipated games seen at E3 2017, so BioWare will be looking to further cement the hype with an even better showing this year.
