Couple confront woman walking home with Asda trolley full of shopping

Recommended Posts

THIS is the bizarre moment a woman is confronted by a couple for walking down a busy road with a trolley full of Asda shopping.

Footage shows the shopper trying to dodge a taxi fare by wheeling her bags home with the stolen cart.

The woman puffs on a cigarette as she struggles to steer the trolley away from the supermarket outside Forest Town near Mansfield, Notts.

Passerby Sean Langley, who filmed the encounter, then confronts her for trying to make off without returning the shopping cart.

He can be heard saying: "I'm just going to video you because it's a bit weird that you're taking a trolley all the way from Asda, which is miles away, and you're going to bring it back — but I don't think you will".

She shrugs her shoulders and replies: "Sorry, I have so much things."

But Sean says: "You can afford fags, you can afford a taxi".

The woman, who says she is "not from here", then tries to push the trolley on before Sean's partner also confronts her.

She says: "Your cigarettes are £10 per packet. So, if you're within walking distance, the taxi is only a few pound".

The couple threaten to report the woman for theft if she tries to take the trolley any further, saying: "Do you know how much those things cost?"

The woman then agrees to return the trolley, saying: "Ok I turn back".

She may have been trying to take advantage of Asda's new £10 meal deal.

Designed to rival similar offers from Tesco and M&S, the Extra Special Meal deal consists of a main, side, dessert and drink for a tenner — and runs all year long.
