Chad Hodge announced that his drama starring Michelle Dockery will not return for a third season.

It's the end of the road for Chad Hodge's Good Behavior.

The TNT drama starring Michelle Dockery has been canceled after two seasons on the Turner-owned cable network.

The news comes as little surprise as a renewal for the series based on Blake Crouch's novella last aired in December 2017 and ranked as TNT's second-lowest rated original series. Based on the Letty Dobesh books by Crouch, the show starred Dockery as Letty, a thief and con artist fresh out of prison trying to stay afloat and reunite with her young son and who becomes involved with a hitman named Javier Pereira, played by Juan Diego Botto.

The series was executive produced by Turner's in-house company Studio T and Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements' ITV-based Tomorrow Studios.

While Good Behavior will not return, Hodge will remain in business with Adelstein and Clements after he signed an overall deal with Tomorrow Studios back in August. TNT had been in discussions for a way to bring the series, which posted decent delayed viewing gains, to a proper conclusion. That will no longer happen.

News of Good Behavior's cancellation arrives as TNT is under new ownership as part of AT&T's acquisition of Time Warner assets including the Turner-owned cable networks, HBO and more. Still to be determined is if the Kevin Reilly-led cable networks will approach scripted as AT&T looks to increase funding for its new crown jewel, HBO.

Creator and showrunner Chad Hodge broke the news of the cancellation Tuesday on his verified Instagram account with a heartfelt post: "With a heavy heart I have to let you know that Good Behavior will not return for a third season on TNT. I’ve always said I could write about Letty and Javier for 500 episodes. Their relationship and place in the world live on the edge of something unique and beautiful and I’m more proud of creating their story than anything in my TV career thus far. The experience of making Good Behavior was also the best of my career. Collaborating with Michelle Dockery, Juan Diego Botto and the entire cast… with pilot director Charlotte Sieling, producing director Mikkel Nørgaard, and all the episodic directors… with Blake Crouch and the writers… with my producing partners Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements… with our kick-ass creative team and crew… we were one family making this show and it was better because of every person who donated their creative lifeblood. You can see it on display in every episode currently streaming on Hulu. To our fans… our incredible fans around the world: THANK YOU. Thank you for loving what we made, for the letters and DMs and gifts, for the love. If I could keep writing the story of Letty and Javier for you I would. The last episode of S2 is not the ending. Actually I did write a bonus scene for you that would have been in Season 3… swipe left and you’ll see. So just know that Letty and Javier are out there somewhere… living their best lives (eh probably not lol). But they are alive. Their story continues. Though for now, as Letty would say… BYE. #GoodBehavior"
