WandaVision Cast Includes Super Secret Actor That Will Surprise Viewers

Recommended Posts

The cast of WandaVision will apparently include an actor who viewers won't be able to see coming, according to one of the show's stars. The MCU show is now just a mere few days away from premiering on Disney+, but casting news continues to abound. The buzz for the series is building and it should come as no surprise that the MCU has some more tricks up its sleeve that haven't been leaked yet.

Outside of Vision (Paul Bettany) and Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), much of the show's cast has already been revealed. Kathryn Hahn will be playing Agnes, the nosy neighbor, Teyonah Parris is playing a grown-up Monica Rambeau, and Kat Dennings and Randall Park are reprising their roles as Darcy Lewis and FBI Agent Jimmy Woo, respectively. At least in terms of the main cast, that doesn't give a lot of breathing room for a significant surprise actor to join the ensemble.

But Bettany is ready to light the fire behind surprise casting news. While speaking to Black Girl Nerds, Bettany revealed that there is an actor who hasn't been revealed yet in the cast of the show. Bettany didn't reveal who it was, but said, "I get to work with an actor that's going to be a surprise for everybody...I've been wanting to work with [this person] forever who is just unbelievable and we have some real fireworks together." He also mentioned that he's been wanting to work with the mystery actor for some time.

With no clear indication of who the actor is that Bettany is referring to, it's hard to surmise what role they are playing either. They aren't likely to have a major role, but with the episodes taking on homages to sitcoms of the past, it feels like the most likely role the mystery actor will be playing will be in the world of one of those sitcoms. The show could also be trying to sneak in another MCU character, although Bettany suggesting he hasn't worked with the actor before rules out most of the universe.

In an interview, Bettany cited Hugh Laurie as an inspiration for his performance and it would be great to have the House veteran join the show. Jolene Purdy of Orange Is the New Black fame has also been cast in a recurring role, but it's also unclear what that role is. The MCU is keeping things close to the vest, which should only add to the excitement when WandaVision premieres on Friday.
