The Crew 2 Is Getting A Closed Beta

Announced during E3 2017, The Crew 2 is finally set to race onto the scene late next month, just over a full year since we first heard about the game. If you want to kick the tires before that time comes, though, Ubisoft has announced an impending closed beta across all platforms.

If you're looking to get into the upcoming beta for The Crew 2, you'll want to head on over to the session's official sign-up page. While this is a closed beta, we imagine Ubisoft is going to send out as many invites as possible to make sure their servers are put through the paces before the game goes live. To register for the beta, simply choose PC, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One as your platform of choice and hit the "Register Now" button. You'll have to offer up a bit more information, obviously, but it's a super quick process and, once finished, you'll be in line to potentially play the game before the rest of the unwashed masses can get their hands on it.

There's also a pre-order option for The Crew 2 at the bottom of that same page, if your confidence is high regardless of a test drive.

Since The Crew 2 is set to launch on June 29, we expect those beta tests will go live in the very near future. We don't know if they'll go out in waves based on platform or if Ubisoft is aiming to test all versions of the game at once. In other words, if you're looking to sign up for that beta, you'll probably want to do so as soon as possible.

As for the game itself, it certainly looks like an ambitious offering for fans of all things that go fast. The first iteration of The Crew had players racing through a condensed version of the United States. The Crew 2 looks to offer a similar online open world, but you'll be able to drive, steer and pilot a whole lot more vehicles this time around.

From the trailer, as well as the game's cover art above, we're reminded that The Crew 2 will feature all sorts of land vehicles, including cars, motorbikes and ATVs. You'll also be able to race around in boats or take to the skies in racing planes. The game's promotional images feature San Francisco, the Grand Canyon and New York so, again, expect to go whipping past a variety of landscapes and familiar landmarks.

We're certainly interested in seeing everything come together and, if Ubisoft can actually pull it off, they might have another big hit in the games as service market. The Crew 2 seems custom made for additional locations, vehicles and cosmetic items so, if it finds an audience, we wouldn't be surprised to see it stick around for quite some time.
