The grime heavyweights unite in the new clip

Dizzee Rascal has shared the video for his new single ‘Money Right’, featuring Skepta.

The video, which was directed by Romain Chassain, paints more scenes of drama not unlike his ‘Bop N Keep It Dippin’ video, which won Best Urban Video at UKMVA this year.

‘Money Right’ is taken from Dizzee’s surprise-released EP ‘Don’t Gas Me’, which dropped on September 14. The song hears Dizzee and Skepta rap over David Sylvian’s piano riff from ‘Night Porter’ by ’80s new wave band Japan. The melody was also used by Ray Keith in his jungle classic ‘Terrorist’.

Rapper Wiley appears to be very unhappy about the pair’s collaboration.

In a lengthy Instagram post yesterday (October 17) Wiley said: “You know why I’m the king? Because I tell people to work with you, you tell people to ‘fuck Wiley. Fuck grime, I’m a pop star. Fuck all them man.’ You and Skepta, I hope you’re happily ever after bruv.”

He added: “Dizzee and Skepta are on a tune…fucking hell” before calling them both “frauds”. He added: “you will never be able to beat me at my own game, ever.”

In other news, while speaking to Julie Adenuga recently on Beats 1, Dizzee said of his new EP: “You’re just getting the whole me… it’s the closest you’re gonna get to my original stuff.”

Elsewhere in the Beats 1 interview, Dizzee voiced his support for UK drill music producers, calling them “pioneers”.

“I’m not really going to defend anyone’s lyrics,” Dizzee said. “If you say you’re going to lick man down, it is what it is. But that beat is doing a lot for me.

“And I still need to meet these producers and find out how you twisting that bassline like that cos I still don’t know how to do it.”
