Do you believe the world will end in 21st December 2012?

The movie was very interesting. Although it's meant to simply be a piece of entertaining fiction, there are a lot of phenomena in the book explained by science, such as the Earth's pole shift. Which will probably happen someday, changing the world as we know it. When it'll happen is not known, but it's unlikely that it will be on 2012.

Thought it was OK for a "doom and gloom" type movie.

A little...err I mean a LOT over the top though.

Pretty sure the world and humanity will still be here for a couple thousand more years though.

Which 2012? An Awakening, Doomsday, Supenova? Supernova looked like they ran out of budget towards the end, they probably filmed the last sceens in a 2 bit motel.

its only the end of the current mayan calender. the mayans had cycles and were on like the 5th cycle of 12. they actually predicted that the world will end as we know it which could also mean that theirs going to be a major shift like the n & s poles swap positions which is actually happening lol

It was some time ago... in Russia there was strongest medium, named Vanga. She said that it is true, that in a 15 years after 2000 - will be apokalypse.

But no, I doubt it. It's as mentioned earlier by PlzDuntBanMe, only the ending date of the mayan calendar. I mean, it had to end at some point? And since the year back then were much different, we can't expect them to end their calendar on December 31st, just because we do.
