Does anybody have random freezing problems on utorrent ?

Mine freezes every so often I always have to use task manager to close it out.

Anybody have a clue how to fix this?

@Hardcore Utorrent is a heavy ram hungry soft. There could be many reasons behind the freeze & lag:

1. Not getting enough Ram

2. Too much torrents seeding

3. Software bug

I would suggest you to move on to qbittorrents. which is lighter & rarely causes any issue. Otherwise downgrade to utorrent 2.2 versions. Those are lighter & not such ram hungry.

Avoid unnecessary posts such as 'Thank you', 'Welcome', etc. Such posts will be deleted and user will be warned if it happens again. If caught spamming, the following actions are applicable -

  • First time - Warning
  • Second time - 5000 Points will be deducted
  • Third time - Ban for 7 days
  • Fourth time - Permanent Ban

well i am seeding alot of torrents my pc has 8 gigs of ram is that not enough you think?

@Hardcore Sometimes apart from how much ram you have utorrent is gonna get lagged due to heavy usage of full ram..so better shift to qbittorent

I find qbitorrent has changed my torrenting game for the better. Try that!

I would also suggest you to move to qbittorrent, it's quite better, doesn't lag at all (so uses significantly less RAM), and another thing, which is the main reason I use qbittorrent is that it is ad-free. Saying here from experience, as I also used utorrent before, and suffered a lot.

Forgot to add though, if you really have to/want to use utorrent, then please use an older version which uses less RAM.
