I noticed that sometimes the invitehawk website tends to slowdown and become laggy even when i'm only scrolling through the page.

So i check task manager and saw that there is constant CPU usage from the website even when nothing is being done.

Why is this happening?

Its common know that browsers use a lot of CPU, specially Firefox!

Five simple tricks to speed up your browser

1. Time for a spring clean

Clear your browsing history by deleting your browser’s history files. Internet browsers store information about each website you visit.

After a while, that data can begin to slow down the speed at which pages load.

2. Clean out your cache

Empty your browser’s cache of temporary internet files—this is a folder on your hard drive where websites you have visited are stored by your browser to help speed up the time it takes to load the pages if you go back to them. There’s no need to clear them out regularly (unless you want to for privacy reasons).

But it’s worth doing this from time to time because if it is full to bursting it will have the opposite to its intended effect and will slow your browser down. To do this in Chrome, click on the three-lines icon, and then Tools, Clear browsing data, select Empty the cache and choose the time period, then click on Clear browsing data.

In Firefox, click on Firefox, Advanced then Network.

Here you’ll see exactly how large your cache is and have the opportunity to delete it. In Internet Explorer click on the gear icon, then Safety, then Delete browsing history and tick the option marked Temporary Internet files and website files, then click Delete (do make sure nothing else on that list is ticked, or you’ll delete that as well). Safari users should click Safari, then Empty cache.

3. Close the tabs

Tabs are a great feature as you can keep several web pages open at once and flick between them. If you find that your browser is slow and you have rather a lot of tabs open, close some of them and see if the speed improves (save them as bookmarks if needed). Each tab takes up memory on your computer and is therefore slowing you down.

4. Rationalise your add-ons

Each add-on takes up space on your computer, so don’t keep them unless they are useful. To view your add-ons and delete any you don’t need, in Chrome go to Tools then Extensions, in Internet Explorer go to Tools then Manage add-ons, in Firefox click Firefox then Add-ons and in Safari go to Help then Installed Plug-ins.

5. If all else fails

If you’ve tried all these fixes and your browser is still slow, consider switching to a different browser. Safari and Chrome are said to be fast browsers, possibly because they have fewer added extras than some other browsers. And consider upgrading your internet speed with your ISP, as this may help enormously.

@Archiee he is using Vivaldi.

@kitsura IH is a little more "heavy" than some sites due to many function we have available to users, however,  in order to check if everything is ok on your side, please post a full screenshot of your Vivaldi task manager (you can press SHIFT + ESC ). Try to not hide anything. The windows task manager only show's the full Vivaldi usage, and not IH only.

This is my Chrome usage - http://prntscr.com/sg6uvh

I think the usage is sometimes also affected if there is a virus on your computer or some browsers are known to silently mine cryptocurrency. I don't know about Vivaldi but maybe look into it?

Ethan!

I have included both task manager for Vivaldi and Chrome, no other website seems to be affected. And i only noticed it due to noticeable slowdowns while browsing.

I installed Vivaldi here to confirm:

image.png.f80207d95dce825f03270b5a0d6d960b.png

It seems to be working fine.

There are several reasons for a high usage on browser, per example, addons conflicts. Try to clear cache and cookies for IH too.

@kitsuraMaybe it could be easyer to test if you install per example a fresh new browser, like Firefox or Opera.

I reinstalled a brand new browser instance. And i discovered that high CPU usage only occurs when i'm logged in. So it has something to do with either my particular account or account levels in general.

@kitsura , i think i found what is causing a bigger CPU usage in some cases. It has nothing to do your specific account.

Let me run some more tests.

You can't see any diference? We just found a module that was causing high CPU usage.

At this point, i'm not capable to help you anymore because it could be a local situation.

Thank you for the report

@kitsura - I would suggest checking your computer for viruses or try using another computer and see if the issue persists.

There is still a CPU usage difference logged in vs logged out.

There is a difference between logged in and logged out, its normal because all the information that is carry on each account.

Btw, that values are alot lower than before. So its strange if you not notice any difference.
