  1. Lily Allen will always work at being in love. The singer took some time out from music to marry builder Sam Cooper in 2011 and raise their two children Ethel and Marnie. Now she's back in the business, but the 30-year-old realises she can never lose sight of how important her family is. "The secret to any relationship is: stay in love!" she enthused to the German edition of Cosmopolitan. "But I think we're only at the beginning. Five years are nothing. I won't start worrying until we're 50." Sam and Lily started dating in 2009, married two years later and welcomed little Ethel in November 2011. Marnie followed in January 2013. Pressing pause on her career was a no-brainer for Lily, who knew she needed more in her life. "I needed to know where I stand. In this job there are so many people telling you what to do: album production, promotion... and I always wanted kids," she smiled. "When I met Sam, it didn't take me long to realise he was The One. And then he just asked if I wanted to marry him." Lily made a return to music last year when she released latest album Sheezus. Now she's learnt to juggle love with her career, the star is able to pass on some words of wisdom. "You have to love yourself in order to be loved. I got that from my therapist," she grinned.
  2. East London DEXTERS return with their second album 'We Paid For Blood' on 25th September 2015 for Acid Jazz. The first single 'Stay Strange' is released 18th September and was recently aired for the first time when the band played to huge crowds at the Isle of Wight Festival this summer. For an early taste of the album a brand new song 'Suburban Sex Dungeon' is available for free now when ordering the album: http://geni.us/DextersPaidForBlood The four piece who consist of Tom Rowlett (vocals), Ben Debo (guitar), Jamie Harris (bass) and Chris Mardon (drums) ' home grown in Hoxton before the beards and pop-up cocktail bars arrived - have spent the last few years touring consistently, honing their classic yet contemporary sound. The result is a shockingly tight live band who are heading out on a month long UK tour in November. 'We Paid For Blood' is the follow up to 2013's 'Shimmer Gold' and sees them musically evolved, whilst still maintaining their raw power and melodies. The album has a much fuller sound ' a mixture of The Clash, The La's, The Replacements, The Wytches and Slaves ' although they are much more than the sum of their influences. Fired up by the political situation of 2015 (both personal and public) Rowlett uses these issues lyrically and enhances the urgency of the new record. Tom adds 'We've grown as a band, this album is a huge step forward in both sound and lyrics. There's a message, there's a social conscience, reacting to the shit that's happening around us. We love music, being on tour, playing to our fans (and meeting new ones), getting away from the boring side of life; shit jobs, no money, life is hard. This is escapism, it's fun, it's rock n roll'. Recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studio in Wales earlier this year with producer Nick Brine (who has worked with such bands as Stone Roses, Oasis, Bruce Springsteen and The Verve amongst others) this session saw the band more comfortable and confident which comes across in the music. With a few summer festival appearances coming up these will see the band getting ready for a very busy end of 2015. 3. Phil Rudd, drummer of AC/DC, has been arrested again days after being sentenced to home confinement for threatening to kill a man and drug possession. It has not been officially revealed why the arrest was made; however, Australia's Noise11 is reporting that he "was arrested on Saturday night for getting a 'whole lotta Rosie' after having a party in his house while on home detention with prostitutes. The 61-year old drummer was arrested at his home in Tauranga. Prostitutes were said to be at the house but how this relates to the terms of Rudd's current home detention sentence is uncertain." Rudd's lawyer, Chris Truck, would only say "he has been arrested and will be appearing on Monday at 10:00 (22:00 GMT Sunday) in the Tauranga District Court. That's all I can say for now and that's all I am telling everyone who is calling." If it comes out that Rudd has breached his sentence, he will most likely be going to jail. Judge Thomas Ingram told him at this sentencing "I stone cold guarantee that's where you'll end up. The temptations of the rock star lifestyle have caused your downfall here." While Rudd is heard on the latest AC/DC album Rock or Bust, he was not able to tour with them due to his initial arrest. He was replaced for the tour by another ex-AC/DC member, Chris Slade.
  4. Chris Brown allegedly thinks some of his close friends are behind the armed raid on his house. Last week masked men descended on the singer's Californian pad, holding his aunt at gun point before locking her in a closet and ransacking the place. TMZ reported the robbers were keeping tabs on Chris and knew he was at a Hollywood nightclub at the time they struck. Now the news outlet claims Chris is suspicious the break-in was masterminded by people he knew - and not just casual acquaintances, but good friends. TMZ's police sources have also suggested it might be more of an inside job, rather than a random attack. The website reports that cops think LA gang the Bloods are somehow involved too and that a member of LAPD's Gang Unit was assigned the case. Chris has yet to comment on the crime but it's thought Nia Guzman, the mother of his young daughter Royalty, is worried about the situation. Nia reportedly thinks the robbery shows that some of Chris' friends have turned on him. However it's business as usual for the singer, and he's taken to Twitter to post a series of messages regarding upcoming shows. It's also been suggested Chris could be reuniting with ex-girlfriend Rihanna, who he physically assaulted in 2009, on a new song. 'I think there might be a dope Rihanna and Chris Brown song coming this year,' sources told urbanislandz.com. 'These two have collaborated before and make dope hit music so when they come together you can expect something crazy. This is something that they have been talking about for a while now but it was his idea original to get her on his upcoming album. She agreed that they should do another song so it's almost a done deal.'
  5. Nick Jonas has joked he named his album after himself because he couldn't come up with a better title. After band Jonas Brothers, which he was in with siblings Joe and Kevin, broke up in 2013, the 22-year-old launched a solo career. His self-titled record was released in November last year and has already spawned hit tracks Chained and Jealous. It follows 2005's Nicholas Jonas and the star jokes he's just a little lacking in imagination when it comes to naming his musical efforts. "Um no, no, it's very important I call it this; it's a redefining in my life... and maybe I couldn't think of a better title..." he laughed in response to BBC Radio 1 host Nick Grimshaw's suggestion it's a little lazy. "I'm so obsessed with myself!" Luckily he's a little more inventive when it comes to lyrics and particularly Jealous has been a smash hit. It reached number one in the US Hot Dance Club Songs chart and even Nick can't get enough of it. "I felt the same way when I wrote it!" he admitted when Nick said he thought the track would get on his nerves after a while. "I was like, 'Oh, I'm loving this!' and then I thought by the time I release it I would hate it, because it feels like one of those songs that could become annoying. "And to some who are listening are probably like, 'It is annoying!' but to me, I still enjoy it."
  6. Rita Ora doesn't want to step on anyone's toes in her new role as honorary ambassador of Kosovo. The Poison singer was born in the Eastern European country and was recently given the role by the country's president Atifete Jahjaga. While the 24-year-old hopes to make positive changes with her new title, she isn't planning on turning her back on music any time soon. 'I'm not a politician,' she told British newspaper The Mirror. 'I'm going to do what I've been doing as a musician and be aware, give a positive message. I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes.' Rita has had a number of chats with president Jahjaga about what she would like to do in her role. She plans to use her influence to help young people engage more in the world of politics. 'I've spoken to the president and Tony Blair. What we're trying to do is blur the social/cultural barriers we have, because right now with social networks, there really isn't any barrier within the countries, like Brazil and Kosovo,' she explained. 'It's almost like all of our problems have merged into one. What I'm trying to do is make our generation be aware of what, politically, we can do as a team to change our future.' Right now, Rita thinks young people's focus is elsewhere and that politics isn't at the top of their agenda. 'Sometimes people vote more for a singer to win an award than for their prime minister,' she added. 'If parliament would have me, I'd talk to them.'
  7. Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson has got engaged. The 23-year-old has been dating fellow musician Jake Roche since last year. The Rixton front man popped the question on Sunday at Manchester Arena and Jesy immediately said yes. 'I cannot believe what has just happened! The most surreal moment of my life and everyone that I love most was there to share it with us!' she wrote on Instagram. 'I feel like the luckiest girl in the world rite now literally cannot stop crying! Future Mrs Roche. (sic)' Jake, 22, got down on one knee during a Little Mix sound check as his pal Ed Sheeran serenaded the couple with an acoustic version of Tenerife Sea. The star was extremely grateful to the Don't singer for going out of his way to make his proposal extra special. 'A year ago today I met her at manchester arena, so it was only right, with a little help from my friend, that this happened. Best day of my life, (sic)' he wrote on Instagram, before adding on Twitter: 'Travelled 5 hours to sing our favourite song on his day off. I will never ever be able to repay you. Love you pal. @edsheeran (sic)'. Jesy's day had already got off to an amazing start when the band discovered they had achieved their first UK Number One in three years with current single Black Magic. Jesy is the second member of Little Mix to get engaged, as band mate Perry Edwards is tying the knot with former One Direction singer Zayn Malik. https://youtu.be/BCHp4gQemtc

  9. British singer-songwriter Jamie Lawson has been unveiled as the first ever signing to multi-platinum, international superstar Ed Sheeran's own label Gingerbread Man Records. The debut major label release of his self-titled album, alongside that of his international smash Wasn't Expecting That will come in October 2015, alongside a full UK tour including a date at London's Scala on 4th November. Enigmatic and soulful, Jamie first drew Ed's attention with an early version of his international juggernaut hit Wasn't Expecting That, which drew the ginger-haired superstar to tears. Ed says of the signing: 'I first became aware of Jamie Lawson a few years ago, after hearing his track 'Wasn't Expecting That'. I very rarely get emotional over a track, but that song stopped me dead. He manages to put across such raw emotion within his work, and I knew immediately that I wanted to work with this guy in some way. Having decided to start my own label 'Gingerbread Man Records' with my label Atlantic Records, the first artist I had to sign was Jamie. Starting Gingerbread Man Records means I can put music I love out there on a huge platform, and Jamie seemed like the perfect choice for my first release' His debut release on Gingerbread Man Records was produced by Ed's longtime collaborator Will Hicks (Lily Allen, Plan B, Bastille) and mixed by Ruadhri Cushnan (Mumford & Sons 'Babel', Ed Sheeran '+' & 'X'). The album reflects a writer and singer who is confidently, comfortably and completely himself. Full track-listing below: 1. Wasn't Expecting That 2. Someone For Everyone 3. Cold In Ohio 4. Watch the riotous Chris Turner-directed video for Swarm below. The Bohicas are rock and roll painted in vivid primary colours. Hi def, loud, fast and shiny. All shot through with pulp imagery torn from the pages of a graphic novel. 14. Marvel has a major problem on their hands, but it’s a good one: they have way too many sub-franchises within their cinematic universe. They already had to make room for Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 and a brand-new Spider-Man movie, but what about Ant-Man 2? Should the Paul Rudd-fronted film reach as high of highs as Guardians, the studio will likely move ahead with a sequel, but when might we see such a thing? The man behind the Marvel curtain, Kevin Feige, recently spoke about the matter, and, understandably, he’s as stumped as the rest of us. Speaking with io9, the Marvel Studios head made it seem like his team is overwhelmed with trying to figure out whether to squeeze in another sequel or focus on the all-new Phase 3 line-up, which includes (in no particular order) Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, the two-part Infinity War, Inhumans, and Thor 3. With specific regards to Ant-Man 2, though, he’s not entirely sure when we might see it come to fruition. He said: The answer is I don’t really know. We’re entering territory that’s an incredible problem to have, which is too many franchises to navigate. That’s a very very high class problem, and if we’re faced with that high class problem, we will try to figure out a solution in a way that allows us to produce the movies in the way we have. At the end of the day, there are way too many characters populating the Marvel Cinematic Universe to give them all standalone films. That’s probably why we haven’t seen Black Widow, for example, get her own solo outing. (Though, we might have some additional thoughts on that front.) But her major role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the first step in making up for that lack. Elsewhere, Marvel is running into problems with developing more solo Hulk movies. We recently found out that, while the studio can produce these films, the distribution rights are out of their hands. We’ll have to see how Ant-Man is received by fans, but for now, at least, it’s too soon to tell whether Marvel will even offer the film a sequel with all that’s going on. That’s not to say we’ve seen the last of Rudd’s Scott Lang. The character shows up again in Captain America: Civil War, along with two armies’ worth of characters for a Team Iron Man vs. Team Captain America blowout. Since Guardians is essentially it’s own little world that is physically separate from the rest of the heroes, it seems easier for Marvel to make more installments. Though, for a little guy like Ant-Man, we shouldn’t count our eggs just yet.
  15. Warning: Spoilers for Terminator: Genisys are in play. If you’ve been able to avoid the big twist that’s been talked about for some time now, continue to do so and skip this article. Bookmark this spot, and come back after you’ve seen the movie. Pretty early on, at least early in terms relative to how big of a spoiler it potentially would be for audiences, the revelation that John Connor was actually the villain of Terminator: Genisys was one that was met with a pretty snarktastic reaction. Fans clamored "too soon" no quicker than the rumor had actually dropped, and people were starting to wonder if Terminator: Genisys was going to be worth watching after its revelation. Believe it or not, no one could have taken the twist harder than the man who would be humanity’s savior, and now it’s greatest foe, Jason Clarke. I was recently granted a moment to chat with the Australian actor, who told me he "stopped, put the script down, and [went] for a walk outside" after realizing the big twist. That wasn't the worst of his reaction though, and what follows is a line of thought that Terminator fans who disapproved of this twist of fate have mirrored themselves. In his own words, here’s Jason Clarke’s initial reaction to the script to Terminator: Genisys: What the fuck is going on here? What did they send me? I don’t want to play the villain. It’s not easy to accept a twist that big on the first go-round, which is probably why the folks behind the Terminator: Genisys marketing machine decided to advertise that twist right out of the gate. But Clarke took the time to go back to the script, and see things in a different light, just to be sure. Thankfully, the second time around showed Jason Clarke an improved outlook on the role. He was more welcoming of the change in his next read-through, and according to his remarks below, that’s where the real meat of the role lied: For me it was, yeah, you go, ok, I’m the villain. I’m the protagonist. I’m the predator. I’m the chaser, but then when it resides, what I thought about it and read it again, John’s at the heart of the story and the problem of the machines, of technology, you know. Despite his new role in the Terminator franchise, John Connor is, as Jason Clarke said, very much at the heart of the new trilogy. How and why, though, are to be explored when you see Terminator: Genisys on the big screen. While we won't spoil either just yet, we would urge you to keep your browser dialed here for more with Jason Clarke and the folks behind Terminator: Genisys.
  16. Avengers star Jeremy Renner may not care about those rumors about him being gay floating around, but he does take issue with the new Mission: Impossible movie. Renner reprises his role of IMF agent William Brandt in Rogue Nation, having already been featured in Ghost Protocol. He is used to the hustle and bustle of the franchise and went with it, for the most part. However, in a new interview, the actor looks back at his time making this film and reveals that he was kept in the dark for most of production. Renner spilled the beans to Playboy magazine. Though he said Rogue Nation is just like any other Mission: Impossible movie — meaning, there are lots of cool action sequences and set pieces — the fact that he didn’t know what the heck was going on more than half of the time was incredibly frustrating from an artist’s perspective. He said, There have been four successful versions before this one, so why would I fight the process? I just went and gave to the best of my ability in the scenario I was in. Now, was it the best scenario for me? The best at what I’m good at? Fuck, no. Not having any information about what the heck is going on doesn’t empower any artists to be at the best of their ability. I trusted Tom Cruise , [director] Chris McQuarrie and the studio, and I went with it. Does this situation sound familiar? It actually sounds a lot like the production protocols implemented for some of the Marvel movies and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Some of the actors, like Greg Grunberg (Matt Parkman from Heroes Reborn), were only given portions of the script for Star Wars, just enough for them to know what scenes they were in. In a similar turn, Anthony Mackie didn’t even know he was in Avengers: Age of Ultron until the movie posters came out and the credits listed his name. In these cases, the non-disclosure is to preserve the stories’ secrets as much as possible. Actors — and even Marvel executives, as we’ve recently seen with Kevin Feige slipping the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 title — can let things slip early on. However, in the case of Rogue Nation and looking in from an outsider’s standpoint, it seems counterproductive for this situation to occur. That said, McQuarrie is a pretty solid person to place one’s trust. M:I - Rogue Nation will see Renner return alongside Cruise, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames for a mission to take down the Syndicate, otherwise referred to as the anti-IMF. The trailers have already backed up Renner’s claims that there will be loads of glorious action, including a moment when Tom Cruise is dangling off of a jetting plane. The film opens in theaters on July 31, and we can only hope that the filmmaker’s decision to keep Jeremy Renner in the dark works out in his favor.
  17. The upcoming true-life thriller Triple Frontier has been in the works for a long while now, first starting up in 2009 with Kathryn Bigelow attached to direct and Mark Boal penning the screenplay, but after years of being stuck in development hell, it now seems as though the movie might actually make it to the big screen after all. This is because the project has possibly found a new director in J.C. Chandor, still working from Boal's screenplay, and the fact that Will Smith and Tom Hanks are both circling big roles. Deadline has the news about this latest change for Triple Frontier, noting that Smith and Hanks have been mentioned in connection with the project for a while, but are still interested in taking it on. The film has been in stasis for about a year now, as that was when Katheryn Bigelow and Mark Boal stepped away from the movie in favor of making a movie about Bowe Bergdahl, the American soldier who was held as a prisoner of war by the Taliban for five years. Triple Frontier, which was originally titled Sleeping Dogs, is still being based on the script penned by Mark Boal, and is a South American-set thriller. The title refers to the boarder zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil, which just so happens to be one of the most dangerous regions in the world due to the heavy presence of organized crime. Should they officially sign on, Tom Hanks and Will Smith likely won't be the only big names in the film, as there are actually five main characters that the ensemble movie will center on. That being said, getting both Hanks and Smith on-board would be a huge move. He may be interested, but whether or not Tom Hanks will have any time in his immediate schedule to make Triple Frontier is another question. In just the last couple weeks we've heard about major developments for two upcoming films: a biopic about hero pilot Capt. 'Sully' Sullenberger (which will be directed by Clint Eastwood), and the tech thriller The Circle (which recently cast Emma Watson to play the female lead). Will Smith hasn't exactly been sitting on his hands either. He may not be a part of Roland Emmerich's Independence Day: Resurgence, but he is currently up in Canada making David Ayer's Suicide Squad. And if all goes according to plan, there's a chance that the end of that production will lead him straight into making Bad Boys 3, which is hoping to be put together in time to lure Smith back to the franchise. Regardless of whether or not Triple Frontier can rope in Tom Hanks or Will Smith, the film will be one to look out for. Not only is it a fascinating subject to explore, but JC Chandor has proven himself as a talented filmmaker with movies like Margin Call, All Is Lost, and A Most Violent Year under his belt. Hopefully we'll hear more about the project soon.
  18. We’ve known for some time that Black Panther (played by Chadwick Boseman) would make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in next summer’s Captain America: Civil War. Boseman even took the stage with Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans at Marvel’s massive Phase 3 announcement, cementing the deal. But we didn’t know how the hero would be utilized in the Civil War plot, or why Marvel chose to use him, until now. While out promoting the studio’s upcoming Ant-Man, Marvel President Kevin Feige was asked by Birth.Movies.Death about why Black Panther was necessary to the plot of Civil War. And Feige, always one for a candid explanation, told them: "The reason we introduced him in Civil War is because we needed a third party. We needed fresh eyes, who wasn’t embedded with the Avengers and who has a very different point of view than either Tony or Steve. We said, ‘We need somebody like Black Panther… why don’t we just use Black Panther?’ That’s how it went in the development process." Feige went on to explain that when we meet T’Challa, he will be assuming the "mantle" of Black Panther from his father, T’Chaka, the current ruler of Wakanda. He will be an inexperienced hero, though one who is responding to actions that occurred in Avengers: Age of Ultron. As you may recall, during the scenes with Andy Serkis, Ultron acquires a large shipment of vibranium – the chief export of the fictional kingdom of Wakanda. This land is highly evolved, but has remained in seclusion from the outside world. The will not be able to stay hidden forever, though, and it’s soon going to be T’Challa’s time to shine. Feige explained to the site: Today, pre- Civil War , post- Ultron I think [black Panther] and his father are saying, ‘A bunch of vibranium just got out of here and wreaked a lot of havoc. Maybe we can’t stay behind these borders anymore. Maybe we have to stick our heads out and make at least an attempt to be a part of the rest of the world right now, while at the same time protecting our people.’ That’s sort of where we meet [black Panther] in Civil War." Black Panther isn’t the only Marvel hero making his debut in Civil War. As we have been reporting, Marvel and Sony recently agreed to hire Tom Holland in the role of Peter Parker and his costumed alter ego, Spider-Man. The web slinger will appear in Civil War before – like Black Panther – spinning off into his own solo movie. Spidey’s will drop in July 2017, while Black Panther’s solo gig arrives the following year, July 2018.
  19. Well, that didn’t take long did it? It’s only been a few days since the world learned of the chilling and traumatic ordeal that a New Jersey family went through because of a miscreant named The Watcher. But that hasn’t stopped Hollywood from leaping at the opportunity to turn the Broaddus family’s horrific plight into a movie. Tracking Board has reported that various Hollywood studios, writers and directors are now chomping at the bit to turn the story into a feature film. Rights for the tale are still up for grabs, and the likes of Blumhouse Productions, Dimension Films, New Line Cinema, and Universal are currently trying to get the story into development. It’s believed that Dimension is making the biggest strides to develop the film after an unnamed writer pitched the story to them. Directors James Wan (Furious 7) and Bryan Bertino (The Strangers) are also believed to be very interested in developing the film. Wan has previously had great success with the horror genre, having created memorable scares in films like The Conjuring and Insidious. Bertino would also be a good choice, though, as The Strangers has a similar tone and story to what actually took place in New Jersey. It’s immediately clear why Hollywood are so interested in bring the story of The Watcher to the big screen. For those of you who don’t know, it recently emerged that Derek and Maria Broaddus had been receiving terrifying notes from an unknown tormenter who revealed that he watches over their new home. The Broaddus family had only just moved into their new abode in Westfield, New Jersey, but they were soon bombarded with notes from the individual who insisted that he was the true owner of the home. According to TheStar.com, one of these notes declared, "My grandfather watched the house in the 1920s and my father watched in the 1960s. It is now my time. I’ve been put in charge of watching and waiting for its second coming." Spooky stuff. I mean, I couldn’t help but look over my shoulder while just writing out the above. Another note even made reference to "young blood," and they were so creepy and intense that the family understandably began to fear for their young children’s safety. NJ.com has reported that Derek and Maria Broaddus are now suing the Chicago Title Insurance Company and A Absolute Escrow Settlement Company for common law fraud, equitable fraud, and emotional distress at Union County Superior Court, because they failed to inform them of the stalker before they bought the house. I imagine that Hollywood’s take on the story won’t have such a judicial conclusion.
  20. The world has been waiting with bated breath for more information on the upcoming Power Rangers movie before they decide whether it will actually be worthwhile. Well, we don't have to wait any longer, because the coveted further details have emerged and we now have an idea about what the Power Rangers movie will consist of. Heroic Hollywood was the first to reveal the first plot details for the upcoming blockbuster, and it looks as though they were able to get their hands on quite a bit of Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz’s screenplay. Here’s how it basically breaks down: Jason, Billy, Zack, Kimberley, and Trini are all 16-years-old who will become the new Power Rangers. After travelling to a decommissioned base to check out a dinosaur fossil of a T-Rex they’d found on Google Earth, they come across five power coins that light up later that evening. Meanwhile, Rita Repulsa, the film’s villain, plans to steal gold in a series of bank heists so she can remake Goldar, a huge warrior that serves to her and Lord Zedd. Zordon, who, at the beginning of the film, we see battle Rita Repulsa alongside his own group of Power Rangers, and Alpha 5, a robot who has been marooned on Earth for 65 million years, soon become aware of Rita’s plan. The power coins have now bonded with our five heroes and they only have 71 hours to become fully-functioning Power Rangers (Alpha 5 and Zordon will assist them in this quest) and stop the villainess from remaking Goldar. That's the gist of it anyway. Sounds like pretty run of the mill stuff. It’s also been teased that Power Rangers opens up on Earth during the cretaceous period. At this point we see Zordon and his posse of Power Rangers tussle with Rita Repulsa. Obviously it’s quite an intense fight because in order for Zordon to defeat his rival he has to detonate a black hole. Zordons’s decision has rather huge repercussions. In doing this he tears the fabric of time around the entire solar system. It also doesn't fully defeat Rita Repulsa, because she was able to land her starship in Russia, and after she wakes up there she then goes on her quest to make Godar. Zordon also isn’t confident that Jason, Billy, Zack, Kimberley, and Trini will be able to make the necessary progression to become Power Rangers and defeat Rita. He believes that earthlings are too primitive to pass the test to become Rangers. The cheeky swine. I have a feeling that he will ultimately be proven wrong. Meanwhile, there’s reportedly going to be a scene where the moon is struck by a huge meteor shower that results in the waves on Earth rising, and there’s also a brief character outline for each of the new team. Zack is described as a lady-killer who the guys want to be, but who is also a tad selfish, while Kimberley is a perfectionist on every level. She is dating Jason, who sounds like a rugged, working class stiff. Billy is apparently brilliant in his own way and is probably a computer whizz, while Trini is a loner. It’s all pretty rudimentary, but what else would you expect from Power Rangers? We’ll see if all of this adds up to make an exciting film when Power Rangers is released in January 2017.
  21. Despite being announced over over two years ago, progress has been slow on Justice League Dark. Unlike the other officially announced DC films, Warner Bros. hasn’t given the project a release date, and there have been few updates on its progress. Now the film has suffered another major setback with the departure of director Guillermo del Toro. Included in their report that Vertigo projects (like Sandman) will be released under New Line Cinemas, THR revealed that del Toro is no longer attached to the film. No reason was given for why he left, but the article does mention him being the director of Pacific Rim 2, so it’s possible his busy schedule may have had something to do with it. Unlike del Toro’s other recently vacated film, Silent Hills, Justice League Dark hasn’t been outright cancelled. Instead, Warner Bros. will likely look for another candidate to helm the mystical adventure. Still, this isn’t a good sign for the magical superhero team’s big screen debut. The last we heard about Justice League Dark’s development, del Toro, who had been attached to the film since January 2013, said that he had turned in a script revision to Warner Bros. However, he seemed less sure about staying onboard, citing time as an issue. This is the second DC film that’s lost its director this year, following Michelle MacLaren leaving Wonder Woman (though she was replaced by Patty Jenkins). It also follows nearly two months after Constantine, another DC project revolving around magic, was cancelled by NBC after only one season. Little is known on what to expect from the Justice League Dark, which is based on the team introduced in 2011 as part of DC’s New 52 relaunch. Unlike the regular Justice League, this team deals with otherworldly threats that can’t be met by normal superheroes. Several characters we may see as part of the lineup include John Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman, and Etrigan the Demon. Other team members from the comics have included Swamp Thing, Frankenstein, Madama Xanadu, Black Orchid, and Doctor Mist. It was also hinted that Justice League Dark will take place within the DCCU, though this has yet to be confirmed. Although del Toro won’t be dipping his toes into the magical side of the DC universe, he’ll be keeping himself busy in the near future. His upcoming projects include Pacific Rim 2 and more episodes of the FX series The Strain. You can catch two of del Toro’s films, Crimson Peak and Rings, in theaters later this year. Now that del Toro is off Justice League Dark, who would you like to see hired as his replacement? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
