  1. Sting and Shaggy have been animated for a new music video based on Lewis Carroll's poem The Walrus & the Carpenter. In Just One Lifetime, the rocker and the reggae star's cartoon lookalikes battle to save the earth with the characters from the 1871 poem. The new track, which features lines from the popular narrative poetry piece, recited by Tweedledum and Tweedledee to Alice in the book Through the Looking Glass, is the follow-up to Sting and Shaggy's Don't Make Me Wait. Both songs feature on the new collection of "Caribbean-flavoured" tunes the pair has recorded. The album's title, 44/876, references the international telephone country codes for Sting's native U.K. and Shaggy's Jamaica. The duo teamed up in the studio late last year (17) to record music together, and debuted Don't Make Me Wait at a charity concert in Jamaica back in January (18). The studio version of the song was released in February, and more material from their studio sessions will follow, according to an announcement on Sting's website. Sting and Shaggy, real name Orville Richard Burrell, have just announced a joint North American tour, which will begin in Jacksonville, Florida on 14 September (18). The pair just wrapped up a European concert series, where they teamed up perform their biggest hits, like Every Breath You Take, Message In A Bottle, It Wasn’t Me, and Mr. Boombastic, together.
  2. Nicki Minaj insists there's no feud brewing between her and Kylie Jenner after she attacked the new mum for helping her rapper boyfriend Travis Scott beat her to the top of the U.S. charts. The Super Bass hitmaker took aim at the Antidote rapper on Sunday (19Aug18) after his third album, Astroworld, clung to the top of the Billboard 200 countdown and deprived her of a number one with Queen. Contesting his reported sales figures, Nicki slammed Travis' promotional tactics, which included selling season passes and merchandise via his girlfriend Kylie Jenner, the mother of his seven-month-old daughter Stormi, who boasts 113 million followers on Instagram alone. Posting a screenshot of Kylie's post, Nicki raged: "Travis sold over 50k of these. With no requirement of redeeming the album! With no dates for a tour, etc. I spoke to him. He knows he doesn't have the #1 album this week (sic)." She also added that she put her "blood sweat & tears into writing a dope album only for Travis Scott to have Kylie Jenner post a tour pass telling ppl (people) to come see her & Stormi..." On Monday (20Aug18), Nicki and Kylie almost came face to face on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards, but when the make-up mogul saw the rapper she reportedly changed direction to avoid a nasty run-in, as seen in a video obtained by TMZ. However, Nicki wants Kylie to know she is not interested in feuding with her. "I f**king love Kylie and that's not going to change," she tells Fader. "This is not real life, this is entertainment. I love Kylie and so do my fans... We're not going to make something that it's not. We're not going to start any dumba** cat fights for your entertainment. This is strictly music, between musicians... She supported her man like she should. Me and my fans are not feeding into this." Kylie and Travis have yet to address Nicki's rants.
  3. Noah Cyrus is opening up about her battle with depression and anxiety on her new album Miley Cyrus' little sister released the project earlier this month (Aug18) and now explains she wanted to get candid about her struggles to help fans who are suffering from the same issues. "This EP is mostly just about how my emotions have been, and about my anxiety, and about how I've been struggling with depression, and how it's OK to feel those feelings," she tells L'Officiel USA magazine. "A lot of people like to judge you, and make fun of you on the Internet, and people make you feel crazy whenever you're in a depression or having anxiety or having a panic attack. It's (album tracks) about that and being sad and having your emotions and not being able to ignore the feelings you're having." Earlier this year, Billy Ray Cyrus' daughter revealed she initially didn't want to go into the family business, because she suffered from self-esteem problems as a child - as trolls and critics picked on her online due to her sister's fame. "I would have been 12 when I started on Instagram, and then people were just so terrible and there was just so much cyberbullying going on," she told Britain's NME magazine in February (18). "The words that they thought were OK to say to a 12-year-old girl made me think, 'OK, this is alarming'." "At the time, I thought that all my validation comes from social media," she added. "As a 12-year-old girl, I thought that I was only pretty if the people on social media told me that I was pretty - and they weren't telling me I was pretty. So, I didn't think I was pretty and I was really down on myself and I really was sad with myself."
  4. Gladys Knight, The Four Tops and Johnny Gill will headline the Aretha Franklin memorial, which takes place in her adopted Detroit, Michigan next week (30Aug18). A total of 23 acts are set to hit the stage to pay tribute to the late Queen of Soul as she is laid to rest after losing her battle with cancer on 16 August (18). According to a performers list, obtained by TMZ, Ron Isley, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Jenifer Lewis, and Angie Stone will also hit the mic, as will members of the soul legend's family, while sources reveal Nation of Islam leader Dr. Lewis Farrakhan is attending as a guest. The memorial takes place at the Chene Park Amphitheatre. Meanwhile, in a new Billboard tribute, producer and singer Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds has revealed he once gave Aretha dating advice as she embarked on a new romance in her 70s. The star got to know the late Queen of Soul in the last few years of her life, and he reveals she was still feisty and looking for love. "I was fortunate enough to do one show with her up in Oakland, California, probably in 2016," he tells Billboard. "I remember coming offstage and going back to see her and her saying, 'You was killing them out there, 'Face! I had to come out here and see what was going on!' "We sat and talked for a little bit. She was actually dealing with the cancer, and her attitude was, 'I’m not going to let this beat me. I’m going to keep fighting this. I’m going to fight until the very last minute and keep doing what I do'. "Even up to the point of that night, we talked about this guy she was starting to see. She gave me the story of what happened and wanted to get my advice on if he was for real or if he was foolish. Later, we talked on the phone, and she said, 'By the way, you was right about that guy. He didn't do enough for me'. "This was her at 74 years old. There’s no question that she lived her life all the way."
  5. Ariana Grande has thrown shade at Travis Scott amid the ongoing feud between the rapper and her pal, Nicki Minaj. The 25-year-old songstress performed for fans at a listening party in Chicago on Wednesday (22Aug18) in celebration of her fourth studio album, Sweetener, and took the opportunity to publicly support her best friend Nicki, who launched a scathing attack on Travis on Sunday after his Astroworld album reached number one in the U.S. charts ahead of her fourth record, Queen. During the show, Ariana's manager Scooter Braun took to the stage to declare that Sweetener would "100 per cent" make it to number one this week - a claim the Side To Side singer was reluctant to support in the wake of Nicki's claims. "We have three days left, you don’t know what Travis could pull," she quipped in a series of fan videos posted to social media at the event. Nicki and Travis beef was ignited on Sunday when the Super Bass singer claimed he had used underhand promotional tactics to get to number one, suggesting his girlfriend Kylie Jenner, with who he shares seven-month-old daughter Stormi with, had helped him sell season passes and merchandise via her 113 million Instagram followers to boost album sales. "I put my blood sweat & tears into writing a dope album only for Travis Scott to have Kylie Jenner post a tour pass telling ppl (people) to come see her & Stormi. lol (laughing out loud). Im actually laughing," she penned to her 20.3 million Twitter followers. "#Queen broke the record of being number 1 in 86 countries. Thank Jesus & thank you to my fans (sic)." The 35-year-old then put Travis, 26, on blast again during her Apple Music Beats 1 show, Queen Radio, on Tuesday and contested Astroworld's alleged sales figures, following reports the album had sold 205,000 copies in its second week of release compared to Queen's 185,000. "What we're not gonna do is have that Auto-Tune man selling f**king sweaters telling you he sold half a million albums, because he f**king didn't. You stupid f**k," Nicki raged. "You got your f**king homeboy talking for you and you got your girlfriend selling tour passes. Stop it. Knock it the f**k off." Travis has remained tight-lipped over the rapper's claims and has so far failed to address them publicly, however, he appeared to reference the animosity at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards on Monday as he took to the stage to reiterate that his album is indeed "number one".
  6. Liam Payne wants his new album to be full of songs detailing his sex life. The One Direction star split from Cheryl, the mother of his 16-month-old son Bear, last month (Jul18) - but quickly moved on by taking 20-year-old Cairo Dwek on a romantic trip to Lake Como in Italy. Liam, 24, recently announced he was reworking his debut solo album in the wake of the breakup - and revealed in a yet-to-air interview with British radio station Total Access that his new music will detail his bedroom antics. "I like sex," Liam explained in remarks reported by U.K. newspaper The Sun. "So what better way than to musically express myself as a young man growing up. I'm into it. I like it. It's good." Discussing why he had pushed back the release of his record from September the Strip That Down singer added: "I have enough songs for it and was ready to put it out. But I kind of feel like some of the songs I'm not ready to put out right now with the way I'm feeling. I don't know. "To be honest with you, life's took a little bit of a different turn as of late, so I'm kind of going with that turn and being honest with my feelings and stuff." The pop lothario already released Bedroom Floor, a track about a warring couple who can't keep their hands off each other, last year (17) - in the middle of his romance with Cheryl. "You said it was over, but your clothes say different on my bedroom floor," he sings in the lyrics. "We always on and off until you're on me." In addition to his amorous getaway with Cairo, Liam has also been linked to 18-year-old American model and philanthropist Maya Henry following his split - and a pal of Maya's told WENN the pair had kissed. "Liam and Maya get on well - and she's a stunning girl," the friend said. "They have kissed a couple of times, but he is in no rush to date again and certainly isn't ready for a serious relationship." The newly single star was also spotted cuddling up to Rita Ora and model Winnie Harlow at the recent MTV Video Music Awards.
  7. Lily Allen's father Keith is expecting to be painted in the worst light possible in the singer's upcoming memoir. The Smile singer releases her autobiography My Thoughts Exactly on 20 September (18), and her actor father, who left Lily's mother Alison Owen when the star was only four years old, expects he won't be portrayed in a positive way, given how openly critical she's been of him in the past. "I have no idea where Lil will go with it. No idea," he told Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper. "I'm not made of steel. But I have read stuff that Lil's said about me (previously) and I've thought: 'Really? Hang on a minute. That's not my memory, not quite.' But, you know, it's tricky, and it will be tricky... like I say, me, in her eyes, abandoning the family, is a big thing." When asked why he hasn't asked for an advance copy of the memoir, the Shallow Grave actor explained that he's fine to wait and see about the contents, unlike his son, Game of Thrones star Alfie Allen, who had some concerns about his older sister's stories. "One, she's not asked me to read it. I know Alfie was very worried about it. And I said: 'Well, if you're that worried about it, you should ask Lily (if you can read it), and see if you can have final say on what's in and what's out," he said. The 64-year-old clarified that his main concern about her book is not about its contents, but the repercussions the singer, who is very outspoken about politics and social issues, could face. "It all depends on who she takes on. I'm thinking: 'Oh hell, you better weather this one, kid,'" he added. When asked if he's worried about Lily's opinions getting her in trouble, he replied, "We're poultices. We bring out poison. And she is a poultice, and that poison will go towards her. And there's nothing I can do about that. "I'd get worried if I thought (intelligence service) MI6 were thinking she was so dangerous they'll have to bump her off... But I don't think we've ever come to that."
  8. Justin Bieber has denied any wrongdoing as he tries to dismiss a lawsuit over a 2016 altercation in Cleveland. Rodney Tobias Cannon launched legal action against the Sorry singer earlier this year (18), claiming Bieber used racial slurs against him when they got involved in an altercation after the NBA Finals in Cleveland, Ohio in June 2016. Bieber’s legal team have now responded to the lawsuit, denying any wrongdoing and claiming self-defence. "Bieber reasonably believed Plaintiff was going to harm him and any force he used was only the amount reasonably necessary to protect himself," his lawyers wrote in a new documents obtained by The Blast. They are asking for the case to be dismissed and want the attorneys' fees to be covered. A judge is yet to rule in the case. In the lawsuit, which was first reported in June, Cannon alleged that the Sorry singer "suddenly became irate" after he took a picture with him at the Westin Hotel in Cleveland, "aggressively threatening harm to (Cannon) if the photograph was not deleted". Cannon also claimed Bieber made "threatening communications in public in front of a number of people including the use of racial epithets," which reportedly included the N-word. After the news went public, Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun took to Twitter to blast the allegations. "Justin Bieber has done a lot of stupid things in his past but what he has also done is apologise and own those mistakes," he said. "This most recent claim against him is completely false and a fabrication from a man who tried to push for money for the last several years. "It is disgusting to me to see this man lie and try to bring race into a situation to scare us into a payment again... He never said these things before because they never happened. This is a smear tactic to get money and it's gross."
  9. Kim Kardashian and her husband Kanye West are "open" to the idea of expanding their family. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star and Stronger rapper were rumoured to be considering having a fourth child earlier this week (begs20Aug18) amid claims Kim is desperate for another sibling to join five-year-old daughter North, two-year-old son Saint and baby daughter Chicago, who the couple welcomed via surrogate in January (18). Addressing the speculation in an interview with E! News on Wednesday, the KKW Beauty founder confirmed there is no truth to the claims - but revealed she and Kanye certainly haven't ruled the idea out. "I don't know, I don't know, I read that, I read something... none of that was true," the 37-year-old shared. "But I've been really open about it and talked about it on our show, so... I don't know. "We start filming season 16 (of Keeping Up with the Kardashians) next week, so if I think about it more and it's gonna happen, you'll definitely see it on the show," she added. "But as of now, no." It wouldn't be the first time Kim has opened up about her motherhood journey on the hit reality TV series. In an episode in November 2016, the mother-of-three explored the idea of surrogacy after meeting with two doctors who told her it "wouldn't be safe" for her to get pregnant again following the complications she had during the pregnancies and births of North and Saint. "Lately I've been thinking I would love to maybe have another baby," Kim mused at the time. "But like, I had two really difficult pregnancies and really difficult deliveries so getting pregnant again it's something that does concern me." Meanwhile, the reality star addressed the prospect of her and Kanye, 41, embarking on their own reality series together, following the success of break-out shows like Kourtney and Kim Take Miami and Kourtney and Kim Take New York. "I don't know. I don't know if that's something he would do," she said of her husband. "But, you know, I was in Miami recently, and it did make me really miss Kourtney and Kim Take Miami. So I don't know, that would be really fun to revisit that."
  10. Nick Jonas has won the seal of approval from fiancee Priyanka Chopra's mother Madhu, who has called him a "wonderful person". After weeks of speculation, the Jealous singer and the Baywatch star confirmed they were engaged to marry over the weekend (18-19Aug18) after Nick and his parents flew to Mumbai, India to take part in a traditional roka ceremony with Priyanka's parents. Priyanka's mother Madhu has now gushed about her daughter's husband-to-be in an interview with DNA India. "Nick is calm and mature," she shared. "I always trust Priyanka's judgment; she's not impulsive. She gave it a lot of thought and when she decided on something, I was sure it would be good. "He's a wonderful person and everyone in the family just loves him. He's so polite and respectful towards elders. What more can a mother want!" The American singer, 25, had visited Madhu and her husband Ashok in Mumbai before, but she admitted it was "too early" to form an opinion at that time. However, she was impressed by how seriously Nick took their roka ceremony, a pre-wedding Hindu tradition. "It was a new thing for him and he took it seriously. He followed what our panditji (priest) said, and chanted the Sanskrit mantras accurately. Both he and his parents did it beautifully. They are nice people," she gushed. Madhu admitted she used to "pester" the 36-year-old about marriage, but had given up in the last two or three years while she pursued a Hollywood career, so she believes "destiny" brought Priyanka and Nick, who began dating earlier this year, together. She now hopes the Quantico star and Nick will have a traditional Indian wedding, but she hasn't "forced any of my thoughts on her". When asked if a date for the big day has been set, she replied, "They haven't decided on a wedding date yet. It's too soon. "Both of them have work commitments right now which they need to finish. They will take some time to decide where they want it and when they want it."
  11. Paul McCartney has cut back on his drinking to one "big glass" of wine a week, insisting grandad can't party like he used to. The former Beatles star, who is now a grandfather to eight kids, tells Mojo magazine he went on a bender after the Fab Four split in the 1970s and spent many days hammered as he worked on the start of what would become a very successful solo career. He opens up briefly about his boozy past on new track Happy With You, in which he sings: "I used to drink too much/Forget to come home." And Macca tells Mojo, "I did used to get stoned and wasted... most particularly in the period right after The Beatles. I was bummed out and in the middle of this horrendous s**t, where someone was going to take every penny we'd ever made. "That wasn't easy and led to a very difficult time in my life. I definitely self-medicated there and drank more than I ever had and probably more than I ever have since. But you go through it." He's glad he didn't become an alcoholic after watching bandmate and pal Ringo Starr struggle with addiction. "I've got a lot of friends who are sober, 'cos they have to be," he tells the publication. "Like Ringo, Joe Walsh. Because they just took it too far. "When we were growing up, everyone would be going to the pub and drinking but mostly it all seemed quite jolly. But when I talk to Ringo about it, he says, 'No, if you give me vodka, I would have to finish the bottle'." And Paul insists it's not a good look for a grandfather to be drinking heavily and smoking a joint: "I’ve got eight grandchildren," he says. "I haven’t got the time. Grandad can’t just be sitting in his armchair with a great big doobie on and a bottle of tequila."
  12. Pink halted a show in Brisbane, Australia on Monday (20Aug18) to hug a teenage fan. The pop star was in the middle of her set when she spotted a sign held up by a 14 year old who recently lost her mother. It read: "My name is Leah - I’m 14 years old. I lost my beautiful Mum last month. I would LOVE a hug… Please!" The Trouble singer immediately stopped the show and headed for the crowd to get close to Leah Murphy. The fan revealed her mum, Debbie, was a Pink devotee, who had planned to attend the singer’s concert in Sydney but passed away before she got the chance. Leah had hoped to use her mother's ticket, but the show was postponed after Pink fell ill last month (Jul18). Murphy’s aunt, Katrina Donkin, bought her a ticket for the Brisbane concert and before the show she pleaded with fans to help her niece realise her dream of getting a hug from Pink. "Ok guys Help me out," she captioned a photo of Murphy and her mother. "Leah and I are going to see @pink Monday 20th in Brisbane. Most of you know Leah and Harvey lost their beautiful mum Deb recently. We are planning on dancing for Deb the whole night. If you can share this post as much as you can in the hope that @pink might see it and give Leah a hug. That’s all we’re hoping for." "We couldn’t believe it worked," Donkin told The Courier-Mail. Pink made sure there wasn't a dry eye in the house as she returned to the stage after her magical moment with Leah, urging her fans to call their mothers. "Everyone call your mom," she said. "I don’t care if it’s two o’clock in the morning and you’re stupid drunk, call your mom."
  13. Ariana Grande fought back tears of joy as she opened up about her fiance Pete Davidson during a U.S. TV show appearance on Wednesday (22Aug18). The God is a Woman hitmaker and the Saturday Night Live actor became engaged in June (18) and she explained she is "happy" and "grateful" to have Pete in her life. "(I am) living (my) best life," she told breakfast show Good Morning America. "(I am) grateful, happy." The 25-year-old recently revealed she knew she would marry Pete from the moment they met in 2016 and in her new interview she insisted she had an immediate feeling that he was her soulmate. "(It's) so cheesy, people are always like, 'When you know, you know', and you're like, 'Oh yeah, whatever OK', (but) you just feel it," she added. "He just ticks every box and it gets better every day and I'm very grateful for him, life is beautiful." Ariana and Pete were only dating a few weeks before he popped the question, but she insists they will take their time with the wedding planning, and dismissed reports suggesting the couple has already tied the knot. "My friends and I, my mom (Joan), and everybody have been brainstorming and sharing ideas and stuff. It's really fun," she said, before revealing the wedding will probably take place next year. "I work so much," she continued, as she began to become emotional. "I've never spent this much time or energy planning something personal that feeds my soul so much, and my heart. I'm gonna cry, I'm just so excited. It's sick, it's really fun. It's not soon, soon. It's going to be, like, next year."
  14. Robin Thicke's model girlfriend April Love Geary is firing back at online trolls who have attacked her for having a second child out of wedlock. The 23 year old announced she was pregnant on Tuesday (21Aug18) and hours later she returned to social media to defend herself from critics who felt it was high time she and Thicke got married. "Why are women so obsessed with telling me I need a ring?" she asked on her Instagram Story. "Getting married is the easy part, seeing how you are together AFTER having babies is the hard part. "We’re in 2018. Not in the 1950's. Women don’t NEED to get married before having babies. Ya’ll need to chill." Geary first became a mother six months ago when her daughter Mia was born, and the baby girl played a big part in mum's big reveal on Tuesday - the model posted images of the infant smiling as she clutched a ultrasound picture of her baby brother or sister. April wrote: "Well someone is going to be a big sister next year! We're so excited to share with y'all that I'm expecting again!" The model and Thicke will learn the sex of their second child together over the weekend. "We find out Saturday if it's a boy or a girl!'" she added. "What do you guys think it's going to be? Forgot to mention the due date is Robin's birthday!" The Blurred Lines singer turns 42 on 10 March (18). Robin is also dad to Julian Fuego, his eight-year-old son from his 10-year marriage to actress Paula Patton. The couple divorced in March, 2015.
  15. Lauren Jauregui has declared that her collaborator Halsey should have received a MTV Video Music Award nomination. On Monday night (20Aug18), the Bad at Love singer revealed to fans that she wasn't at the annual awards show, held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, because it didn't feel right to attend when she hadn't been nominated. Former Fifth Harmony star Lauren who teamed up with Halsey for 2017 song Strangers, took to Twitter to express her disappointment that her pal hadn't received any recognition for her work. "@halsey deserved at the very least a nomination last night," she wrote. "Consistently directed her own videos this entire era. Not to mention her attention to detail stringing them into a story. I feel like that deserves recognition, especially in a climate where most artists don’t even write." The 23-year-old responded by thanking the singer and adding, "We trained our a*ses off to make a kick a*s video this era and I’m so so proud of it. AND im proud of the strides that song made for LGBT representation in mainstream music. I’m lucky to have u in my corner. Both literally and figuratively (sic)," followed by a love heart emoji. The New Americana singer may not have attended the main awards show, but she was spotted hanging out with her ex-boyfriend G-Eazy at Travis Scott's post-ceremony bash, held at at 1 OAK in the Big Apple. They were pictured leaving the party hand in hand and getting into a taxi shortly after 4am on Tuesday morning, sparking speculation that they have rekindled their relationship. Halsey, real name Ashley Frangipane, announced on social media they were "taking some apart" at the start of July.
  16. Post Malone sent an emotional group WhatsApp message to his loved ones during his mid-air plane scare on Tuesday (21Aug18). The Congratulations hitmaker was among the 16 passengers on board the Gulfstream Aerospace GLF-4, which took off from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey en route to Luton, England, when two of the plane's tyres exploded, forcing the pilot to circle back and alert air traffic control officials that he would be performing an emergency landing near New York City. TMZ reporters caught up with Post, real name Austin Richard Post, soon after he landed, and while he initially insisted, "I'm f**king alive, I'm ready to party", he later admitted he had been so scared for his life, he sent a goodbye text to his close friends and family. "We were just stuck in the air for so long not knowing," the 23-year-old shared. "I just put everybody in a big group text to tell them I love them, just in case." Asked who he contacted, he replied: "I just did it all in one, you know, my family and friends. This was before anybody knew, I was just like, 'Hey guys, I love you' because I didn't want to f**king freak people out and then me be stuck in the air. I was just trying to think of the possibilities, the outcomes of what could happen." Admitting that the experience had left him terrified of flying, Post added that alarm bells started to ring when what he believed to be smoke started entering the cabin. Just hours earlier, the Psycho rapper had been celebrating his Song of the Year win at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards. "We took off and apparently there was a sensor in the back that flipped out, and we landed," he explained. "Then we took off again and we heard the tyre pop, and I don’t know if it was smoke or whatever coming in... I was like, 's**t, this is not good at all'." Post concluded by extending his heartfelt thanks to the pilots and aeroplane staff, who he said "handled it perfectly", and joked that they had all earned themselves lifetime passes to his concerts.
  17. Taylor Swift has broken her own record for the highest-grossing U.S. tour by a female artist. The Look What You Made Me Do singer has been trekking across the U.S. and other nations since May (18) on her epic Reputation Stadium Tour. Her U.S. gigs alone have now made an incredible $191.1 million (ÂŁ148 million), according to Billboard.com, meaning that with 11 American dates still to play she has surpassed the gross earnings of the previous record holder, her 1989 World Tour - which made $181.5 million (ÂŁ140.5 million) in 2015. During the tour, she has averaged earnings of more than $7 million (ÂŁ5.4 million) per show - with all 27 of her completed dates sold out. The pop princess is having a brief break from the road after performing at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida last Saturday (19Aug18). After the gig, she praised hometown girl Camila Cabello - who has supported her alongside British singer-songwriter Charli XCX throughout the tour. "MIAMI I LOVE YOU!! You were so loud and FUN," she wrote on her Tumblr page. "Shout out to Camila for killing it in her hometown and being just the greatest most precious magical human possible." The concerts will pick up again this coming Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee - the city where a teenage Taylor made her name as a country music star. In addition to her U.S. gigs, Taylor has also performed in the U.K., Ireland and Canada, with the latter concerts having grossed $11.1 million (ÂŁ8.5 million). Figures for her British and Irish dates are yet to come in, and unlike in the U.S., not all of these shows sold out. She will conclude the tour in Australia, New Zealand and Japan - meaning the worldwide takings from the Reputation Stadium Tour should easily surpass the $250 million (ÂŁ193 million) her 1989 live dates made globally - and may come close to beating the $408 million (ÂŁ316 million) Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour made in 2008 and 2009, the most earned globally by a female artist.
  18. Drake paid tribute to the diversity of his hometown Toronto at the first of two homecoming shows at Scotiabank Arena on Tuesday night (21Aug18) . Speaking onstage at the arena, the opener for the joint Aubrey & The Three Migos Tour Live!, the 31-year-old took an indirect swipe at America's current unsettled and undivided climate. The In My Feelings rapper praised the Canadian city where he was born and raised, thanking its inhabitants for their support and for being a welcoming place for "all races". “I’m forever grateful, everywhere I go, I carry the value of this city with me,” Drake told the audience. “Every night that I go and I do a show in America, I tell them, ‘This is how the world is supposed to work.'" The rapper, who holds dual American and Canadian citizenship, continued: “You see, tonight, we got 17,000 people inside one building from all races, from all places, and all we are doing is just listening to music, and smoking and drinking — and enjoying our lives. And I want you to know that that’s something that I learned right here in Toronto.” Drake was first supposed to play the venue, where he has his own private club Sher, on Monday night, but the show was postponed “due to circumstances beyond our control”. Migos were seen that night attending the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards in New York, while Drake visited 11-year-old fan Sophia Sanchez, who is awaiting a heart transplant, at a Chicago hospital, telling her during their filmed encounter that he “cancelled a concert so I could come see you”. Fans lucky enough to attend the Toronto show were treated to a surprise performance as Drake brought out Travis Scott for a joint performance of his hits Sicko Mode and Goosebumps.
  19. Nicki Minaj continued her rant against rival rapper Travis Scott on her Queen Radio show on Tuesday (21Aug18). The 35-year-old launched a furious Twitter tirade against the Antidote rapper on Sunday after his third album, Astroworld, beat her fourth record, Queen, to the top spot in the U.S. album charts. Contesting his reported sales figures, Nicki slammed Travis' promotional tactics, which included selling season passes and merchandise via his girlfriend Kylie Jenner, the mother of his seven-month-old daughter Stormi, who boasts 113 million followers on Instagram alone. The Super Bass singer promised to expand on her comments on Queen Radio and, true to her word, she didn't hold back. "What we're not gonna do is have that Auto-Tune man selling f**king sweaters telling you he sold half a million albums, because he f**king didn't. You stupid f**k. You got your f**king homeboy talking for you and you got your girlfriend selling tour passes. Stop it. Knock it the f**k off," the rapper blasted. "When (Travis) comes along and sells a tour pass that has nothing to do with his f**king music and says he's sold more than Kanye West and Nas - no you f**king didn't, keep it the f**k real. I know I'm that b**ch, I know I'm number one." Later in the episode, Nicki called out music streaming service Spotify, who she previously claimed had purposely delayed the promotion of her album as "punishment" for releasing the material on her Apple Music Beats 1 radio show 10 minutes earlier than they did. She also referenced her 2015 campaign against Billboard, in which she called for streaming figures to count towards album sales. "You know how many bullets I took for you motherf**kers to get streaming to count on Billboard?" she questioned angrily. "You motherf**kers is getting streaming because somebody took that bullet, because somebody was brave enough. Somebody had a big f**king d**k enough, somebody had balls enough to say, 'We are tired of having you steal our music and we're not getting credited!'" Nicki's comments came shortly before she announced she would be postponing the North American leg of her co-headlining tour with Future amid reports of declining sales.
  20. Chrissy Teigen has apologised to fellow parents at her daughter's new pre-school after "projectile" vomiting at an orientation event. The model and TV personality took to Twitter on Monday to share the embarrassing incident with fans as she joked about the bad first impression she must have made on other mums and dads. "Hello everyone from Luna's school orientation today. I'm sorry I projectile puked caffeine upon arrival, couldn't open my eyes and had the noisiest newborn in the room. (not a joke, very sorry, see you tomorrow)," she tweeted. Chrissy, who shares her two-year-old daughter and three-month-old son Miles with husband John Legend, went on to explain the reason for her cringe-worthy entrance, confessing she was a little hungover. "Oh no it was not first day of school jitters," she shared. "It was last night's wine and Korean bbq and jet lag combo". The couple, which returned from a family vacation in Bali, Indonesia over the weekend (18-19Aug18), had been spotted enjoying a night out in Los Angeles on Sunday. Many followers were sympathetic as they responded to Teigen's tweet, and one follower even revealed she had witnessed the incident, assuring Chrissy she wasn't the first parent to suffer a hangover during a school run. "Great seeing you there!" the fan wrote. "The struggle is real and we've all been through it. You and @johnlegend are awesome parents and handled it respectfully. Hope Luna has a great school year!" Chrissy replied to the sweet comment with a crying laughing emoji and a weary emoji. One person even questioned if Chrissy's vomiting could be morning sickness, asking, "You sure it wasn't baby #3?," to which the 32-year-old beauty quipped, "please lord no not right now lol (laugh out loud)".
  21. Nicki Minaj has scrapped the North American leg of her co-headlining tour with Future. The Anaconda hitmaker and Future were due to kick off their NickiHndrxx tour on 21 September (18) in Baltimore before concluding in Las Vegas on 24 November. However, representatives for tour promoter Live Nation announced late Tuesday night (21Aug18) that the 28-date trek had been postponed until May 2019 so the rapper could "reevaluate elements" of its production. As a result, Future has had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. Nicki subsequently took to Twitter to post a video explaining her decision. "Future and I will now start the European leg of our tour first, so those dates will stay exactly the same and the U.S. leg of the tour will now start in May and so because of that, with Future's schedule, I may have to take another co-headliner or I may just do it like I did the Pinkprint tour... probably just three or four opening acts. "This is all happening because I pushed my album back two months and I just finished writing and recording literally hours before the album came out so now I simply don't have the time to rehearse and be on the road in time to give you guys the level of a show I need to give." The hip-hop star, who released new album Queen earlier this month, promised fans that she was "working tirelessly to give you the best show of my life" and concluded: "I really apologise but it will be worth it." The co-headlining tour will now launch in February in Munich, Germany. The news comes hours after New York Post's Page Six reported that the ticket sales had been underwhelming. A Live Nation source told the publication: "Nicki's tour could be the most disappointing ticket sales of the year for any artist. These are big arenas with up to 20,000 capacities. Sales for opening night in Baltimore is 2,000 tickets. LA is 3,400, New Orleans 1,000, Denver 1,300, Chicago 3,900. Even her hometown Brooklyn is only 5,050." Earlier this week, Nicki took aim at Travis Scott, his girlfriend Kylie Jenner and their baby daughter Stormi after Queen was beaten to the top spot in America by his album Astroworld. "I put my blood sweat and tears in writing a dope album only for Travis Scott to have Kylie Jenner post a tour pass telling ppl to come see her & Stormi," she tweeted. "I'm actually laughing. #Queen broke the record of being number 1 in 86 countries."
  22. Pink and Ed Sheeran helped a British DJ pull off a special marriage proposal after recording video messages for his future bride. Elliot Holman, who works for a radio station in Norwich, England, secretly recruited the singers to be a part of his big surprise, after deciding to pop the question to his girlfriend, Bryony. He staged the romantic beach proposal while on vacation in Florida, and stunned his lady love by playing her two funny clips from the pop stars, both begging her to say yes. "Hi Bryony, Ed Sheeran here," the Perfect hitmaker said in his recording. "Elliot is not going to do better than you, so you need to accept it that he needs to marry you and it has to happen, and you need to make him a very, very happy man. "I'm sure he will make you a very, very happy lady, but the fact is there's no one higher on the totem pole than you for him, so you've just got to let it happen. My seal of approval is there, I'm sure that counts for a lot. Say yes!" And Pink added, "Elliot Holman would like to ask you if you will be his wife. Please say yes - I mean, if you should - if you should say yes then you should. Good luck!" Luckily for Elliot, the celebrity support worked, and Bryony accepted. Recalling the special moment, the groom-to-be told the Norwich Evening News, "We watched the sunset, I showed her the Pink video as she pops the question and then I showed her the ring, but said, 'Before you answer, there's somebody else to persuade you,' which was Ed Sheeran. "Then I said, 'Will you marry me?' and she said, 'Of course I will.'"
  23. Singer Robin Thicke is about to become a dad of three after announcing his girlfriend April Love Geary is pregnant again. The Blurred Lines hitmaker welcomed daughter Mia with the 23-year-old model in February (18), and the pair is now preparing to add another child to the brood. Along with an Instagram picture, set in what appears to be a hospital room, of an ultrasound featuring a baby's image from the womb, the proud dad writes: "They said we couldn’t make another anthem, so we went and made another anthem! Thank you April!" Robin signed off with a heart emoji. His model girlfriend also took to the picture-sharing website to announce the baby news, posting images of her smiling baby Mia and adding the caption: "Well someone is going to be a big sister next year! We’re so excited to share with y’all that I’m expecting again! "We find out Saturday if it’s a boy or a girl! What do you guys think it’s going to be? Forgot to mention the due date is Robins (sic) birthday." The father-to-be turns 42 on 10 March (19). As well as Mia, Robin is also dad to Julian Fuego, his eight-year-old son from his 10-year marriage to actress Paula Patton. The couple divorced in 2015 after spending 21 years together. The 41-year-old pop star began dating April in 2014, just before his divorce from Paula, who has since moved on to date realtor Zach Quittman, was finalized.
  24. Justin Bieber has broken his own Guinness World Record as his Despacito (Remix) with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee has become the most-streamed song across the globe. The revamped version of the catchy Latin tune, which featured Justin singing a few lines in Spanish for the first time, has been streamed almost five billion times since its release in April, 2017, surpassing the 4.3 billion hits Bieber had previously earned for his 2015 hit Sorry. The news earns the collaborators a mention in the upcoming 2019 Guinness World Records book, documenting records set by May, 2018, but they aren't the only pop stars to feature. Ed Sheeran's Shape of You single has been named the best-selling digital track to date, shifting 26 million units worldwide, and the most-streamed track on Spotify, with more than 1.65 billion listens, while his third studio release, á (Divide), has been declared the biggest-selling album across the globe. There was recognition for Ed's pal Taylor Swift, too - her Look What You Made Me Do promo has gone down in history as the most-watched music video in a 24-hour period after racking up 43 million views online last year (17), and rockers Maroon 5 now boast the most-viewed group music channel on YouTube with more than nine billion video views. Meanwhile, Guinness World Record officials are also keeping watch on social media - Selena Gomez is noted as having the most followers on Instagram with over 120 million, and One Direction, who are currently on hiatus, still hold the title for most Instagram followers for a music group, with 17.2 million. Katy Perry is the first Twitter user to reach 100 million followers, and dance star David Guetta has the most micro-blogging fans for a DJ with 22.2 million. And K-pop stars BTS have reason to celebrate as well - they beat One Direction's Harry Styles to score the highest tally of average retweets, earning on average more than 300,000 reposts, compared to the Sign of the Times hitmaker's 147,000 on the same date, according to Guinness World Record officials.
  25. Lana Del Rey has vowed to visit Palestine after ignoring pleas to scrap her upcoming Israel concert. The singer was criticised by pro-Palestine campaigners for refusing to pull out of a performance at the Meteor Festival in Lehavot HaBashan’s Pecan Park next month (Sep18), but recently insisted her decision had nothing to do with politics or picking sides in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine. "I would like to remind you that performing in Tel Aviv is not a political statement or a commitment to the politics there just as singing here in California doesn't mean my views are in alignment w (with) my current governments opinions," she tweeted on Sunday (19Aug18). And Lana took to Instagram on Tuesday, to confirm she would be performing at the festival, adding: "My views on democracy and oppression are aligned with most liberal views. "We will still be playing our show in Israel. That being said, I understand the concern towards showing support to the Palestinians too. So I just wanted to let you know when I’m in Israel I will be visiting Palestine too and I look forward to meeting both Palestinian and Israeli children and playing music for everyone. I want peace for both Israel and Palestine." She also addressed Pink Floyd star Roger Waters, who has been vocal of his support for the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement, which promotes a cultural boycott of Israel. "I read your statement about taking action even when you believe in neutrality," she wrote. "I totally understand what you’re saying and this is my action." Earlier on Tuesday, Waters wrote to the singer via Facebook, hoping to "clear a couple of things up" adding: "Palestine is a unique situation in that the BDS picket line exists at the request of Palestine civil society as a whole. To respect it as I, and many others do, is a political act of support for the Palestinian people in their struggle for basic human rights. "To cross it, conversely, is a political act in support of the apartheid state that would deny them those basic human rights. Even if in your heart of hearts you believe yourself to be neutral. As Nobel Peace Laureate Desmond Tutu rightly says, 'If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor'."
