  1. Bryan Adams has released the title track from his upcoming album, 'So Happy It Hurts', and announced a 2022 UK and Ireland tour. The Canadian rock legend is back with his first new music since his 2019 LP 'Shine a Light', which featured a songwriting credit from Ed Sheeran and a feature with Jennifer Lopez. The 'Summer of '69' hitmaker started penning the new material in lockdown and the collection is inspired by the "freedom" of the road. In a statement, the 61-year-old musician said: “The pandemic and lockdown really brought home the truth that spontaneity can be taken away. Suddenly all touring stopped, no one could jump in the car and go. “The title song ‘So Happy It Hurts’ is about freedom, autonomy, spontaneity and the thrill of the open road. The album of the same name, touches on many of the ephemeral things in life that are really the secret to happiness, most importantly, human connection.” The 12-track LP is set to follow on March 11, 2022. The album will be available on all digital platforms, as well as in a variety of physical formats including standard CD, deluxe CD with a lenticular cover and hardbound book and vinyl. An exclusive colour vinyl and a limited edition box set which includes the deluxe CD, vinyl, hardbound book and signed photo are also available for pre-order now. Next year, the 'Heaven' hitmaker will embark on the 12-date 'So Happy It Hurts' UK headline tour, which kicks off on May 13 at the Brighton Centre, and includes a stop at London's The O2 arena on May 26. The run is set to wrap at the picturesque Blickling Estate in Norfolk. The Pre-sale starts at 9am on October 13, and general sale tickets will be available from 9am on Friday (15.10.21).
  2. Sam Fender is heading for his second Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart with his second record Seventeen Going Under. The Geordie singer-songwriter currently has a healthy lead of 20,000 chart sales over his nearest rival Drake on today’s Official Chart Update, and is currently outperforming the rest of the Top 10 combined. Sam’s first album, 2019’s Hypersonic Missiles – which has boosted up to Number 38 midweek – debuted at the top spot following his win of the BRITs Critics Choice Award that same year. View Sam Fender’s Official UK Chart history here. Meanwhile, US heavy metal band Trivium are eyeing up their highest-ever peak on the Official Albums Chart as their tenth album In The Court of the Dragon starts at Number 3 – on track to be their second UK Top 10 album. Electronic artist James Blake could also net a career-best chart peak with Friends That Break Your Heart at Number 5. Outside the Top 10, Johnny Flynn’s fifth album Lost In Cedar Wood is tracking to debut at Number 11, while in the run-up to her comeback this Friday, Adele’s 25 is so far up 15 places to Number 12, while 21 leaps 23 spots to Number 25. New York rock band We Are Scientists’ seventh album Huffy looks set for a new entry at Number 15, while The Charlatan’s self-titled album opens at Number 17 thanks to its first vinyl pressing in 20 years. At Number 20, mysterious music collective Sault’s fifth record Rise could re-enter the chart and out-peak its Number 99 debut. Only available for 99 days, the album disappeared from sale October 2. Alt-pop duo Oh Wonder could secure a third Top 40 release with 22 Break at Number 22, Wayward Sons’ Even Up The Score eyes a new entry at Number 23, and Justin Bieber’s Justice flies up to Number 24 midweek thanks to a new ‘complete’ edition featuring three extra tracks. Simon & Garfunkel’s Greatest Hits could be heading back to the Top 40 at Number 29, and finally, English rock group T’Pau’s greatest hits collection The Essential tracks for a Number 32 debut.
  3. Ariana Grande is supporting a campaign to improve access to mental health services. For World Mental Health Day on Sunday, a day dedicated to reducing the stigma associated with mental health issues, the popstar announced on Instagram that she would be partnering with Better Help, a company that provides remote mental health services. "It's World Mental Health Day and I'm beyond thrilled to team up with BetterHelp again to give away up to $5 million in free therapy," Grande wrote beneath a graphic that reads "spread awareness & sign up for free therapy". "I acknowledge that there are very real barriers when it comes to accessing mental health resources, and while this is only one small gesture (and a much larger systemic problem remains)," she continued. "I wanted to do this again with @betterhelp in hopes of bringing access to a few more people and perhaps inspiring a few of you to try something new and prioritize your own healing. head to betterhelp.com/ariana to get your free month started." The Thank U, Next singer had partnered with the Silicon Valley-based company last year for World Mental Health Day, where she initially donated $1 million (ÂŁ733,000) to improve access to therapy. A few hours after the pledge went live, she confirmed she would donate an additional $1 million, writing that "therapy should not be for a privileged few but something everyone has access to". The campaign covers the first appointment for those seeking help, and Better Help bosses guaranteed 15 per cent off the second month should clients continue with the service
  4. Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly have inked each other with matching tattoos. While being interviewed for GQ Style, the celebrity couple opted to give each other tattoos of the words, "The darkest fairytale". Megan revealed that the phrase "alludes back to one of the first text messages we ever sent each other", and that they initially wanted to have the words placed within their inner arms, but as Kelly is already covered in body art, he had to have his etched on one hip. "F**king best tattoo I've ever seen in my life...It looks like a fairy ghost did it, right?" the musician, real name Colson Baker, asked his girlfriend after she finished tracing the design. Megan and Kelly didn't display their tattoos in the accompanying photoshoot. However, they did discuss how they were briefly introduced at a party in Los Angeles several years ago before they reconnected on the set of movie Midnight in the Switchgrass in 2020 and started dating. "I just remember this tall, blond, ghostly creature and I looked up and I was like, 'You smell like weed.' He looked down at me and he was like, 'I am weed.' Then, I swear to God, he disappeared like a ninja in a smoke bomb," she recalled of their initial meeting. "I think we weren't allowed to see each other yet. We weren't supposed to run into each other that night, so our souls, our spirit guides, were luring us away from each other, because you literally had no face, like that thing from Spirited Away...Thank God, (because) what torture had I known you were there and I couldn't get to you. It was better that I didn't know." Megan and former husband Brian Austin Green separated in May 2020, with the Jennifer's Body actress filing for divorce later in the year.
  5. Halsey has proudly displayed their post-baby body in a candid social media post. The Without Me hitmaker, who uses both she/her and they/them pronouns, and boyfriend Alev Aydin welcomed their first child, a son named Ender, in July. But following praise from fans following their performances as musical guest on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, Halsey took to Instagram on Monday to insist that they were very much embracing their postpartum figure. "I did SNL two nights ago and a lot of people were quick to say how good I looked. That was a weird feeling. My body has felt like a stranger's for a long time. I uphold myself to honesty to the point of over sharing sometimes but this feels important," the 27-year-old captioned a slideshow of images showing her changing stomach area in the weeks and months following the birth of Ender. "The first picture on this slide is days after my baby was already born. A lot of people don't know that you still look pregnant for a while after. It is still changing and I am letting it." Halsey went on to note that they have no desire to hit the gym as they are too busy caring for their baby, and credited custom-made outfits and great stage lighting for their appearance. "I do not want to feed the illusion that you're meant to feel and look 'great' immediately postpartum. That is not my narrative currently. If you've been following me because you're also a parent and you dig what I'm doing, please know I'm in your corner," the star continued. "I will never have my 'pre-baby body back' no matter how it changes physically because I have now had a baby! And that has altered me forever; emotionally, spiritually, and physically. That change is permanent. And I don't want to go back! But In the spirit of honesty, I'm really tired and not a superhuman and this is really hard. Doing my best to serve my art and my family whilst keeping it all so very real."
  6. Liam Gallagher is "super proud" to be performing a headline gig in his native Manchester next year. The former Oasis rocker will take to the stage at the Etihad Stadium - the home of his beloved football team Manchester City - on 1 June, and has also added a gig at Glasgow's famous Hampden Park on 26 June. He said: “I'm super proud to announce I’m doing a gig in my hometown of Manchester on 1st June 2022 - home of the champions of English football Manchester City. Also can't wait to play Glasgow’s famous Hampden Park on 26th June 2022, C'MON YOU KNOW LG x" Goat Girl will support Liam at both gigs, while The Streets will join him for the Manchester show and Kasabian will support in Scotland. Tickets go on sale on 15 October, but fans who pre-order a copy of Liam's upcoming fourth solo album, 'C'MON YOU KNOW' - which will be released on 27 May - by 3pm on Wednesday (13.10.21) will receive access to a presale from 9.30am on 14 October. The 'Once' singer's announcement comes days after he sold out two huge shows at Knebworth Park - which will take place on 3 and 4 June next year - within a day. Oasis famously played to a record 250,000 fans at Knebworth across two days in August 1996. And the 'Wonderwall' hitmakers have just released the documentary, 'Oasis Knebworth 1996', in honour of the milestone. Fans had speculated that Oasis could reunite at Knebworth, while the director of 'Oasis Knebworth 1996' believes the band will get back together eventually. The 'Slide Away' group split in 2009 after a bust-up in Paris between Liam, 49, and his estranged sibling Noel Gallagher, 54, but Jake Scott - who worked with the band on the film - believes they will reunite in the future. He said recently: "Yeah. I’d love to think so. It’d be lovely. Oh God it’d be great wouldn’t it? There’s so much studio manipulation in music now. Just a solid rock n roll band would be an amazing thing to see again." Speaking about the band's iconic Knebworth gigs, the filmmaker added: "My sense of Knebworth was to be there was very special. It wasn’t just one of those gigs, it was one of those special moments. "You’ve been to gigs but there are only a couple of gigs in one’s life you’ve really had that moment where you’ve gone, ‘Oh wow, I’m seeing something important here’. I get a very strong sense that Knebworth did that for a lot of people. There’s a sense of unity and dare I say it, love."
  7. James Bay is a first-time father. The Hold Back the River hitmaker took to Instagram on Monday to announce that his long-time partner Lucy Smith had recently given birth to a baby girl. “Family. After all these years together as two, we’re so excited to be three!” the 31-year-old captioned a photo of him cradling his daughter. “Last week Lu gave birth to our first baby, Ada Violet Bay. We are so in love and filled with gratitude and joy for this little miracle in our lives. Thank you for all your well wishes.” James didn’t share any further details. The star and music promoter Lucy have been in a relationship since they were teenagers.
  8. Jared Leto has claimed he "got teargassed" at a protest about vaccine mandates in Italy over the weekend. The Oscar-winning actor found himself caught up in the demonstration while in Rome on Saturday and took a series of images and videos on his Instagram Stories, which have since expired. In one post, the 49-year-old shared footage of a police officer in riot gear confronting protestors and revealed in the caption, "Got caught in a protest in Italy. From what I gather it was about vaccine mandates/green pass... Got teargassed then called it a night." He did not expand upon his experience at the protest further. According to The Associated Press, thousands of people took to the streets of Rome on Saturday to campaign against the new Green Pass vaccination requirement, which comes into effect on Friday. The mandate requires employees in both public and private sectors to present a Green Pass to enter the workplace. The passes prove that a person has had at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine or tested negative for the virus in the last 48 hours. Leto is believed to be in the capital with his band Thirty Seconds to Mars, reports Deadline.
  9. Jameela Jamil has been forced to defend her music production skills. After receiving criticism on social media for her producing credit on her boyfriend James Blake’s new album, Friends That Break Your Heart, The Good Place star has opened up about her experience in the music industry. "A lot of mostly women insisting I couldn't possibly have actually worked on my boyfriend's music, and that he must have just credited me to be nice
I was a DJ for 8 years, and studied music for 6 years before that," the 35-year-old tweeted on Sunday. "You are part of the problem of why women don't pursue producing." This is not the first time that the actress has been credited on one of her partner's projects. Blake, 33, released his fourth studio album, Assume Form, in 2019. Jamil produced several tracks on the album, which was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the 2020 Grammy Awards. On Instagram, she claimed that Blake, who she has been dating since 2015, had to convince her to add her producing credit since she was already “so preemptively sick of the Internet”. "In the end, I took the credit I deserved because of how important it is for women who work on music to visibly exist in the space of music production, and because I would want any of you who follow me to take ownership of what is rightfully your achievements," Jamil explained, adding that she hopes other producers are taking credit for their work. The She-Hulk star concluded by reminding her three million followers that “we’re all in this s**t together” and encouraged others to “carry on”. Fellow celebs congratulated Jamil in the comments, with comedian Chelsea Handler writing, “Women are smarter, more resourceful, and have had to deal with forced humility. We're done with all that." While Questlove insisted that she should “Take all of the credit” for her work and Natasha Bedingfield commented: "Glad u have a guy who is making sure you get the respect you deserve x great record."
  10. England men's cricketers are "relatively relaxed" about travelling to Australia for the Ashes in December, says all-rounder Chris Woakes. The England and Wales Cricket Board said on Friday the tour would go ahead "subject to several critical conditions". Players had expressed concerns over their families being allowed to travel, as well as quarantine arrangements. "There is no player that does not want to be part of the Ashes," Woakes said. The five-Test series is set to begin on 8 December and end on 18 January. Woakes, who has 39 Test appearances, is one of 17 players named in England's Ashes squad. "Behind the scenes there are still things being ironed out between all sorts of levels," he told BBC Radio 5 Live. "I think the players are relatively relaxed and guys are desperate to go. "But we want to be under the best sort of conditions possible so we can still live our lives outside of cricket." Australia has some of the strictest Covid-19 protocols in the world, a situation complicated by the fact the five Tests are scheduled to be played in five states, each of which has its own regulations. England have played much of their cricket since 2020 under different levels of Covid-19 protocols, which Woakes said could take a toll. "Until you have been in that situation and done it over and over again, the novelty wears off," the 32-year-old added. "Some people get it, some people don't, and that is fine - everyone is entitled to their view. "But until you have been in it and experienced it over again, it is hard to have a say on it." Woakes is currently in the United Arab Emirates as England prepare for the T20 World Cup, in which they will play their opening match against West Indies on 23 October.
  11. Helen Nkwocha was fired by drive and determination when she sold her home and decided to live on a houseboat to fund her dream of becoming a professional football coach. Never in her wildest dreams could she have imagined she would become the first female coach of a top-flight men's team in Europe. Tvoroyrar Boltfelag are one of the oldest clubs in the Faroe Islands. But as they approached the end of a poor season - which has brought them only three points - they turned to Nkwocha, who had been working at the club as a youth coach, to guide them through the final six games. "I didn't think twice," the London-born former police officer tells BBC Sport. "People's reaction is not the same as mine because they are reacting to my gender. But I am used to being a female. It is nothing new to me. "And the fact I am working with male players? I have worked with more male players than female ones. To be working at this level, yes, that is different. But working with male players is not different to me." When BBC Sport spoke to Nkwocha in 2015 she was at the start of a journey that has taken her to varied places, including China and the US, looking for work. For someone whose origins are not at the elite end of the game, opportunities are not easy to come by. "It's been quite challenging because coaching is so competitive," the 45-year-old says. "You have to be persistent and the houseboat was the best way to save money for the courses I needed to go on and then to be available to coach because you don't get a lot of money at this level. "It's taken a lot of financial sacrifice and then in terms of geography, you move around because you're looking for an opportunity to grow and develop and learn." Nkwocha was working in Chicago when a friend told her about the job in the Faroe Islands. With Covid just about to make its presence felt, she decided the security and the scope of the role was too good to turn down. She had never been to the Faroes before. "It's like a fairytale land," she says. "It's so beautiful, possibly one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. "There's not a lot of people - our population is 2,000 - and a lot of the games that we you have to get onto the ferry, then a car to get to the venues. It's also very windy and the ball is in the air a lot so it is a challenging place for football." In her two matches so far as caretaker boss, Nkwocha has failed to halt TB's losing run. However, they only lost 1-0 at the weekend, despite having a man sent off. Nkwocha will keep working at it, putting off any thoughts about what the future may hold beyond the end of the year. In any case, it is not as though she has much spare time to mull over her future. When BBC Sport spoke to her, she was just finishing her 'day' job - coaching some of TB's younger age groups. Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola does not have to teach kindergarten kids as well as adults, I say. Nkwocha breaks into a wide smile. "Well I'm not being funny, but if you see the sessions, you might say Helen doesn't either," she says.
  12. Raheem Sterling and Marcus Rashford have changed how black footballers are viewed, says Ian Wright. England forwards Rashford and Sterling received MBEs for services to children and equality respectively. Wright praised them but added that they can't fight the racism battle alone. "It's people like Marcus Rashford, he changed the course of how people write about black players, and Raheem Sterling - that's power," said the former Arsenal and England striker. "They're not only magnificent footballers, they've got social conscience and they've got massive platforms where when they say something, people listen, and that's what happens nowadays," he told the Press Association. "And what you see is everybody comes together when this happens now and this is how things change. Things are moving, not as quickly as they should be, but they are moving. "Things only change when white people get involved. If it was down to black people, we would still be (constantly) being racially abused. We can't change it alone." Manchester United's Rashford has campaigned to end child food poverty in the UK, with his work for the provision of free school meals in England during holidays and other support to low-income families prompting major changes in government policy. Manchester City's Sterling has spoken about the racial abuse he has had to face, on and off the pitch, and campaigned for racial equality. Match of the Day pundit Wright, 57, wants to see greater black representation but points out the impact of "white allies", and cited Rangers boss Steven Gerrard and Burnley captain Ben Mee, who have both spoken out on racism. "We still need black people to get into certain offices high up to make change - and that's still not happening because if it was we wouldn't be going through certain things that we're going through now," Wright continued. "But at the same time, people like Steven Gerrard and Ben Mee and white allies who speak up and speak up passionately about the wrongs of racism and inequality is how things change, how things move. "That's how people change what they feel, that's how you make them think, their conscience." As part of Black History Month, Wright has produced a short film with son and former Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips, 39, and grandson D'Margio, 20, who plays for Stoke City, celebrating three generations of footballing excellence. "To have three generations playing football is amazing, I'm very proud of that, I'm very proud of them," Wright added. "(But) one of the things I think about all the time is the racism side of it. Three generations, are we all going to have it?"
  13. Ireland's Amy Hunter celebrated her 16th birthday by becoming the youngest player to hit an international century in Monday's one-day game in Zimbabwe. The Belfast schoolgirl notched 121 not out as Ireland made 312-3 which earned them a series-clinching 85-run win. India's Mithali Raj held the previous record when hitting an unbeaten 114 against Ireland at the age of 16 years and 205 days in June 1999. Shahid Afridi is the youngest man to hit an international century. Afridi was 16 years and 217 days old when he hit 102 in a one-day game against Sri Lanka in 1996. Gaby Lewis scored 78 runs, and Laura Delany hit 68, in Ireland's innings as the visitors produced a huge total which secured them a 3-1 series victory in Harare after they had lost the opening game. Hunter said she felt "a bit surreal" after notching the record-breaking century. "When I got to my hundred, I had no ideal what to do," said the thrilled teenager, who hit eight fours in her 127-ball innings. "I didn't know whether to take the helmet off or keep it on. It was unbelievable." After winning the toss, Zimbabwe's decision to field backfired badly as Hunter and Lewis produced a 140 partnership after Leah Paul departed when the Irish had reached 40-0. Hunter and captain Delany then put on 143 for the third wicket to set up Ireland's big score. In their reply, Josephine Nkomo hit 66 for the hosts but they were never in touch with the run chase as captain Delany and Sophie MacMahon both took two wickets
  14. Newcastle part-owner Amanda Staveley met Steve Bruce at the club's training ground on Monday with the manager's future still unclear. Staveley, who owns 10% of the club, and partner Mehrdad Ghodoussi also met players as the squad began preparations for Newcastle's game against Tottenham at St James' Park on Sunday. A large proportion of fans want Bruce to leave the club. Newcastle are winless and second from bottom in the Premier League. The new owners, who took over the club in a ÂŁ305m deal on Thursday, have been linked with former Borussia Dortmund manager Lucien Favre, Steven Gerrard and former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard as potential replacements. Bruce's assistant Graeme Jones could also be a temporary stand-in for the under-fire manager, who is set for his 1,000th game in management against Spurs. Jones, 51, joined the club midway through last season from Bournemouth and is a Newcastle fan.
  15. Germany became the first team to join hosts Qatar in securing their place at the 2022 World Cup when they won their qualifying group on Monday. Denmark could also book their place this week, though England must wait for the next international break to secure theirs. With three games - at most - left for European teams in World Cup qualifying, BBC Sport looks at what can happen this week. We also look at the home nations' situations. Denmark (and Scotland) Denmark - who beat Moldova 4-0 on Saturday - will qualify for the World Cup if they win their home game against Austria on Tuesday (19:45 BST). They can afford to drop points if they match Scotland's result against the Faroe Islands. Scotland can book a play-off place if they win two of their final three games. They could even do so on Tuesday if they win and Austria and Israel (at home to Moldova) both lose. Belgium (and Wales) Wales' 1-0 win in Estonia on Monday means Roberto Martinez's Belgium have not yet confirmed their place in Qatar. Wales would need to win their last two games - and hope Belgium lost both of theirs - to finish top, but the runners-up spot seems more likely. That is a straight fight with the Czech Republic. Robert Page's side have a good chance of qualifying for the play-offs through last year's Nations League groups even if they do not finish in the top two. England A late Albanian winner in Hungary means England will have to wait until next month to book their place at the World Cup. England host Hungary on Tuesday (19:45 BST), but cannot move far enough clear of Albania or Poland because they play each other. Gareth Southgate's side just need two wins from their final three games to be sure. Northern Ireland A defeat by Switzerland on Saturday left Northern Ireland's hopes in tatters. They visit Bulgaria on Tuesday (19:45 BST), knowing defeat could make it impossible to reach the World Cup. 16. Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Sunil Narine put in a stunning performance to lead his side to a four-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League eliminator. Off-spinner Narine took 4-21 to restrict RCB to 138-7 off 20 overs. He then smashed 26 off 15 balls as KKR reached 139-6 with two balls to spare despite a late wobble in Sharjah. KKR face Delhi Capitals in Wednesday's second qualifier for a spot in the final. The winner of that tie will play Chennai Super Kings on Friday for the 2021 IPL title. KKR have now won six out of eight games since the delayed tournament resumed in the United Arab Emirates, while RCB are eliminated in Virat Kohli's final match as captain of the franchise. Narine bamboozles RCB big names Narine's all-round display was one of the finest in IPL history - there are not many bigger wickets to take in T20 cricket than Kohli, AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell, while he gave KKR much-needed impetus with the bat. RCB made a strong start before KKR's spinners took hold, with Narine bamboozling the batters with his changes of pace, immaculate length and sharp turn. After removing Srikar Bharat, Narine then bowled both Kohli and De Villiers with beautiful deliveries, each one foxing the star batter and finding a gap between bad and pat. Once Narine also had Maxwell miscuing a big shot to Lockie Ferguson, RCB's hopes of posting a massive total had completely subsided. The game was in the balance when Narine arrived at 79-3 off 11 overs but three sixes off the first three legal deliveries he faced from Dan Christian put KKR on top. West Indies opted not to select Narine for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Oman and the UAE because of concerns over his fitness - this performance suggests they could rue that decision. Disappointing end to Kohli's captaincy Virat Kohli (right) was unhappy about several decisions made by the umpires After announcing he would step down as RCB captain at the end of this season earlier this month, Kohli was hoping to lead the franchise he has represented since the first IPL in 2008 to their maiden title. He began imperiously with a flurry of boundaries, but got bogged down on a slow pitch and his side could not pick up the scoring after his dismissal. Kohli was visibly frustrated throughout KKR's innings, remonstrating with the umpires after he successfully overturned an lbw decision on review, believing it should have been given out on the field. His mood did not improve as he watched Narine clear the fence, with KKR hitting five sixes compared to none by RCB. Mohammed Siraj (2-19), Yuzvendra Chahal (2-16) and Harshal Patel (2-19) - who equalled Dwayne Bravo's record of 32 wickets in an IPL season - kept RCB in the game with some fine bowling despite a couple of dropped chances. It left KKR needing seven off the final over, but Shakib Al-Hasan hit a sumptuous scoop shot over short fine leg for four off the first ball before he and captain Eoin Morgan completed the chase. "I've tried my best to create a culture where youngsters can come in and play expressive cricket," said Kohli, who took over the RCB captaincy in 2013. "I've given my best to this franchise and I will continue to give that effort on the field - I don't see myself playing anywhere else, loyalty matters to me more than anything else."
  17. Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has expressed his "surprise" at gains he says Mercedes have made with their engine performance. Under Formula 1's rules, the title rivals are not allowed to improve the power of their engines in-season. Horner said Mercedes' straight-line speed "has taken a significant step recently". "It's surprising they appear to have made the step they have with the power-unit," he added. Mercedes reject Red Bull's claims, saying nothing has changed in their engine apart from fitting a new one to Hamilton's car for last weekend's Turkish Grand Prix. Hamilton takes engine penalty Verstappen to start at back of grid after engine penalty Both Hamilton and title rival Max Verstappen of Red Bull have taken new engines - at the cost of grid penalties - over the last two races, Verstappen at the previous race in Russia, Hamilton in Turkey. Verstappen leads Hamilton by six points with six races to go after the Dutchman finished second in Sunday's Turkish Grand Prix and Hamilton in fifth. World Championships standings Internal combustion engines always degrade over time, so Hamilton's new engine will have provided a small performance advantage over the one he was using previously. Red Bull's claims echo similar ones Hamilton himself made about his rival's Honda engine earlier in the season. Red Bull made an apparent step forward in performance around the time of the French Grand Prix in early summer, and Hamilton publicly questioned how they had been able to do that. Red Bull's explanation at the time was that aerodynamic upgrades to their car had allowed them to run smaller rear wings, reducing drag and boosting straight-line speed, without harming cornering performance. Horner said: "We could match them with smaller [rear] wings previously; now we can't get near. And we saw that particularly at this circuit, where Lewis had a straight-line advantage with a bigger rear wing on the car." Horner added that reliability problems with the Mercedes engine could also be affecting impressions of performance. "You can see across all their teams Mercedes obviously have some reliability issues they are managing, which is unusual for Mercedes," Horner said. "But their performance is still incredibly impressive. "Whether one comes at the expense of the other, I don't know, but if you look at some of the speed deltas on the back straight at some points it was 15-20km/h, which is more than if there had been DRS (overtaking aid in use)." Mercedes say they are puzzled by Horner's suggestions, saying they are not borne out in the data. Mercedes F1 boss Toto Wolff admitted the company were managing reliability against performance with their engines. "When you start to push the boundaries with power-unit performance, at a certain stage you will experience some obstacles," he said. "Our power-units have been the most reliable since the introduction of the hybrid engines in 2014 and and because the boundaries are being pushed we have seen examples of, let's say, unusual noises within the combustion engine that aren't completely understood at that stage yet. "They caused some troubles in the past; we had some engines that basically failed and now it's about containing the problem because changing parts is not something you would tackle." Mercedes appear to have made a step forward in overall performance compared to Red Bull since F1 reconvened following its summer break. Over the first half of the season, Red Bull had an average advantage in qualifying of 0.026%. In the three dry qualifying sessions in the second half of the season so far, Mercedes have had an advantage of 0.286%. However, the three tracks in question - Monza, Sochi and Istanbul Park - are regarded as favouring Mercedes, whereas two of the remaining six races - Mexico and Brazil - are expected to significantly advantage Red Bull.
  18. Heavyweight Deontay Wilder will not be quitting boxing after losing to Tyson Fury for a second time, says the American's lead trainer Malik Scott. Wilder, 35, was knocked out in the 11th round by Fury in a thrilling WBC world championship fight in Las Vegas on Saturday. "Deontay has set his family financially secure so he doesn't have to fight to make a living," Scott told iFL TV. "But retiring is not in his plans at all and not something we've discussed." Wilder and Fury contested a controversial draw in December 2018 before the Briton won the February 2020 rematch when Wilder's then-trainer Mark Breland threw the towel into the ring in the seventh round. That move angered Wilder so much that he dismissed Breland and replaced him with Scott, a fighter he had defeated in 2014. In the third Fury-Wilder bout, both men were knocked down - Fury twice in the fourth and Wilder in the third and 10th rounds before a third knockdown in the 11th saw the referee stop the fight. Scott, 40, said there was not a moment when he considered ending the contest. "Over the years of me knowing Deontay, he has always said throwing the towel in with a knockout artist like him wouldn't be tolerated," added Scott. "It's something I respected. The last knockdown was the worst knockdown and the ref called it off. "Deontay and Mark never had a relationship outside the gym, they never talked for more than five minutes on a phone call. Me and Deontay would never fall out and not speak again - our bond is too tight." 'Wilder has been a good dance partner, but it's done' - Fury proud to retain crown Wilder was world champion for more than five years from 2015 and has 42 wins, including 41 inside the distance, from 45 fights. "He will be back in any form he wants to be," said Scott. "He's a big-time fighter and he doesn't belong down there with the other guys, he needs to be in high-level fights and main events. "Deontay Wilder was great on Saturday, but Tyson Fury was even greater - it was a great night of boxing for the heavyweight division. "You have to give Fury credit for having a good chin and getting up. Fury is a legend and one of the best in the heavyweight division in any era, and it's the same about Deontay."
  19. There are two murals of black footballers facing one another across an alleyway in Glasgow. One helped shape football as we know it, the other is Pele. Andrew Watson captained Scotland to a 6-1 win over England on his debut in 1881. He was a pioneer, the world's first black international, but for more than a century the significance of his achievements went unrecognised. Research conducted over the past three decades has left us with some biographical details: a man descended of slaves and of those who enslaved them, born in Guyana, raised to become an English gentleman and famed as one of Scottish football's first icons. And yet today, 100 years on from his death aged 64, Watson remains something of an enigma, the picture built around him a fractured one. His grainy, faded, sepia image evokes many different emotions: awe, pride, passion, and for one man in particular, discomfort. When Watson moved to Glasgow in 1875, aged 18, he had hardly played football. It was a time before professionalism, when the sport was still evolving and a single set of rules was yet to be universally adopted. Within six years he'd established himself as one of the most talented and well-respected players, a trailblazer who helped popularise the Scottish 'passing and running' game - an early step in football's evolution towards what we recognise today. Watson twice played against England, and on each occasion Scotland were convincing winners. The second victory, 5-1 at the original Hampden Park, was a pivotal result that convinced the English Football Association its approach needed to change. They turned to Watson to show them the way as a new elite amateur team was formed; Corinthian FC would later be credited with popularising football around the world. Watson, a public school educated player who would have spoken with the upper class accent of his new team-mates, was among the first recruits. He assumed the role of 'Scotch Professor' and taught his English peers - both at Corinthian and numerous other clubs and representative sides - "the science" of a more dynamic passing style. He is seen as a conduit who helped modernise football during a period of great upheaval that signalled the "death" of the "individual, dribbling game" - characterised by a single player running with the ball at his feet surrounded by eight forwards - that had been favoured by the English. "Pele was a genius footballer, but there are thousands of genius footballers whose influence dies with them the second they retire," says Ged O'Brien, founder of the Scottish Football Museum. "You can look at any game of football being played anywhere in the world - by any person of any gender or ethnicity or culture - and the ghost of Andrew Watson will be looking down on you, because they are playing his game. "Watson is the most influential black footballer of all time. There is nobody that comes close." Watson (fourth from right in back row), with the Scotland team that beat England 5-1 in 1882 During his lifetime, Watson's influence was felt across the game. He was a captain, a national cup winner, an administrator, investor and match official, each achievement and contribution made as the first black man to do so. Historians, researchers and academics have worked hard to bring his legacy to light. But unravelling his personal story has presented a different challenge. Watson was born in 1856, in Georgetown, Demerara, a colonial trading post established by the Dutch, captured by the French, then re-named by British rulers who imported slaves from Africa to work on its plantations. Now it's the capital of Guyana - which has been a republic since 1970, four years after it declared independence from Britain. It borders Suriname, Venezuela and Brazil. Watson moved to Britain aged around two. He was educated at some of the finest schools in England. His family boasted significant wealth and powerful family connections. Liverpudlian poet Mark Al Nasir spent years researching Watson's background. After first "seeing himself" in images of a 19th-century footballer broadcast on a BBC TV documentary in 2002, he traced his own ancestry back to Watson's in Guyana. "I saw a black guy from Guyana who was the world's first black footballer, who looked like me and has our family name. I thought: 'We have to be related,'" says Al Nasir, who changed his name from Mark Watson when he converted to Islam. "I grew up to feel worthless, that I was nobody, that I was from nothing. There was nothing to give me pride or dignity in being black. So seeing someone like him, one of the very architects of the game, I needed to find out what our connection might be. "I was looking for a sense of black pride, something in my history to be proud of." What Al Nasir found were descendants who were both slaves and slave traders. "The blood of both courses through my veins and that is a dilemma that I have to reconcile within my own soul," he says. "And Andrew Watson's family consisted of both."
  20. Halloween Kills director David Gordon Green is set to helm a film about the creation of Disneyland. Disneyland opened on July 17, 1955, and has been one of the most popular vacation destinations ever since it opened. The road to creating Disneyland is a fascinating one that took years of development and deals with many different companies to see Walt Disney turn a section of orange groves in Anaheim, California, into the iconic theme park known the world over. Disney has recently started to explore the behind-the-scenes legacy of Disneyland with recent documentaries like The Imagineering Story and Behind the Attraction on Disney+. While the studio has never made an official biopic on Disney creator Walt Disney or the park's creation, the studio has cast their founder in 2013's Saving Mr. Banks, which featured Tom Hanks in the role and a scene at Disneyland. However, it appears the studio is looking to make a feature film based on their creator and their legendary park. RELATED: Jungle Cruise: Why Disney Thinks Theme Park Rides Make For Good Movies Per Deadline, David Gordon Green is set to direct the film about Walt Disney's creation of Disneyland with a script by Evan Spiliotopoulos (2017's Beauty and the Beast). The film will be a Disney+ exclusive, and producer Jason Reed has spent a year developing the pitch before bringing it to Disney. Green has directed a wide variety of films, from Pineapple Express to his most recent film, Halloween Kills, which is set to open in theaters and on the streaming service Peacock on October 15, 2021. Creating a film about Disneyland fits in with Disney's attempts to expand their theme park attractions into other media. The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is the most successful of the bunch, with a planned reboot starring Margot Robbie in development. The studio recently released Muppets Haunted Mansion on Disney+ and has a new Haunted Mansion film in development. Jungle Cruise was a box-office hit and had a sequel greenlit. Scarlett Johansson is set to star and produce a movie based on The Tower of Terror. Finally, Ronald D. Moore (Outlander) is working on a series for Disney+ titled Magic Kingdom, which will tell stories based on the various rides like Thunder Mountain and the Matterhorn. When David Gordon Green can direct the film is a significant undecided factor. The director is not only signed on to direct Halloween Ends which is due out in 2022, but he is also set to direct the sequel to The Excorcist that Jason Blum and Universal Pictures are developing. He is not only signed on for one Excorcist film but an entire trilogy, with the first of the films planned for release on October 13, 2023. Given that Halloween Ends is set for 2022, filming on the Walt Disney Disneyland project probably won't start until late 2023 at the earliest. After spending so much time in the horror genre, it will be a nice change of pace for Green to try a new type of film about Disneyland, the happiest place on Earth.
  21. Kevin Smith has seen Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and has taken to the internet to provide his review. The film is the sequel to 2018’s Venom, and once again focuses on Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and Venom. Directed by mo-cap icon, Andy Serkis, the film is currently in theaters. Sony brought the Venom universe to life in 2018 with the release of Ruben Fleischer’s Venom. Though not quite as critically well-received as some of the recent Spider-Man movies, the film still proved to be a massive success – largely due to Tom Hardy’s commitment to a wild and energetic performance in his dual roles. That film teased the arrival of Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady a.k.a Carnage, arguably the second most iconic symbiote-powered Spider-Man villain next to Venom himself. Though Spidey doesn’t play a central role in the new film, the sequel sees Eddie and Cletus go head to head in a battle for symbiote supremacy. RELATED:Every Venom Movie Ranked (Including Spider-Man 3) Now, with Venom: Let There Be Carnage making a huge impression at the box office, Kevin Smith has officially seen it. In a recent episode of his podcast, FatMan Beyond LIVE (via Comicbook.com), the filmmaker praised Tom Hardy’s commitment to the project and many of the sequel’s comedic beats. Smith also had a bit of criticism regarding the lack of actual carnage and how surprised he was about the movie's low "body count." Read some of Smith's review below: Here I'll say this, Let There Be Carnage? I'd put a question mark at the end of that. Like, well, what does 'Carnage' say to you other than the character? Body count. I was actually surprised at the body count....He's a serial killer BEFORE he gets a symbiot in him and sh-t, so you're like 'Aw he turns his hand into a cleaver!' In a world where, I'm not saying every movie has to be this, but what's that Kingsman movie where they went in a church and f-cking slaughtered everybody? It's a pretty high bar for a comic book movie where you're like 'All right, Carnage could do this,' and he didn't. He swung it, it was very, very cool, don't get me wrong. Again, no complaints, but could you imagine him halving people? And you could get away with it in this movie, they got a real sense of humor about death and violence in this movie. You know, it continues to be fun little Tom Hardy project, he f-cking wrote or came up with the story, he's deeply invested in it and obviously giving it his all. There's sh-t that legit made me laugh out loud. There's a lot of chicken jokes in the f-cking thing, and one of the, I don't think that I'm spoiling anything to tell you that eventually Venom and Carnage will fight, and one of the ultimate line, the coup de grñce line, was pretty f-cking wonderful, literally made me laugh out loud in the theater. So ultimately, it seems that Smith is largely positive about the new film. However, he does seem to think that the film isn’t without its share of faults - particularly due to its lack of an R-rating. Elsewhere in his remarks, Smith noted that the film likely could’ve benefited from leaning further into ultraviolence to capitalize on Carnage’s vicious nature. Of course, like the rest of the fans, Smith will have to wait and see how the Venom franchise evolves as it moves into the future. The finale of Venom: Let There Be Carnage promises a much larger world for Eddie Brock that’s far more connected to the Marvel that many fans know and love, but how that will all unfold remains to be seen. At this time, the big screen Venom now appears to be on a path that will lead him to an on-screen encounter with Tom Holland’s MCU version of Spider-Man. As such, it stands to reason that the odds of something more R-rated (such as what Smith wants) will likely go down the closer Eddie Brock gets to Peter Parker. Venom: Let There Be Carnage is currently in theaters
  22. Christopher Kusiak, the location manager for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, recently explained how they filmed in a real maximum security prison. In Venom: Let There Be Carnage, the prison is first seen when reporter Eddie Brock is sent to interview the murderous Cletus Kasady. Eddie later returns to the prison, Kasady bites Eddie’s hand, and Eddie’s blood turns Cletus into Carnage. Empowered by Carnage, Cletus wreaks havoc throughout the cell block and breaks out of prison in a scene that involves, well, a lot of carnage. While the scenes of Eddie meeting with Cletus Kasady and the interiors of the prison were not filmed on location in San Francisco, the exteriors of the prison were all real, including several shots inside the prison perimeter on prison grounds. These scenes were filmed on location at San Quentin State Prison outside San Francisco while the maximum-security facility was still fully operational, with real prisoners still on site. This meant that every detail of filming had to be meticulously planned, like where they could put the equipment and how long it could be there, along with emergency procedures in the case of a natural disaster or a real prison break. RELATED: What Does Venom’s Future Mean For Tom Holland’s Spider-Man? In an exclusive interview with Kusiak, he talks to Screen Rant about the months of planning that went into that single day of filming. Every detail had to be mapped out in an effort to keep the actors separate from the prisoners and keep everyone safe, and there were special protocols put in place in case of emergency. When asked if there was any concern about a prison break while they were filming, Kusiak answered, “Yes, everybody had picture name badges, the background that wore the San Quentin prisoner jumpsuits had name badges with the picture on them under their prison jumpsuit and if there was some sort of altercation we were to line up at the nearest door and flash our badges and get out as soon as possible.” Of all the fascinating locations filmed in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, the real maximum security prison may have been the most incredible and the trickiest to accomplish. Filming in San Francisco in the Spring of 2020 (exactly when Matrix 4 was filming there), Venom 2 lists many iconic and interesting locations like Coit Tower, the Tenderloin district, and Grace Cathedral. Filming took roughly 3 weeks and covered much of the city, but it was the single day of filming at the prison that clearly involved the most planning. While filming went smoothly and there was no prison break during the filming of Venom: Let There Be Carnage (prison break by Carnage being the exception, of course), the very real prospect of an emergency situation occurring and the prospective danger the filmmakers were in, does bring into perspective the negotiations currently underway for the film unions. Filmmakers work notoriously long hours and go to great lengths in an effort to create the worlds seen on film, at times even going into dangerous situations, like the one at San Quentin during the filming of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. If the negotiations fail, a strike is imminent, and film production would cease for an unforeseen length of time. Hopefully, things will be sorted before production is set to begin on the prospective Venom 3
  23. Director ChloĂ© Zhao has confirmed the runtime for Marvel's upcoming film, Eternals. Based on the Marvel Comics race of the same name, Zhao's new movie centers on an alien race that emerges from hiding to save Earth from their evil counterparts, known as the Deviants. The third film in the MCU Phase 4 plan takes place after the events of 2019's Avengers: Endgame, which sees Earth's mightiest heroes reverse Thanos' snap, inadvertently sparking the creation of something known as the "emergence" that endangers humanity. Eternals boasts an impressive cast list set to appear as the new team of superheroes. The ensemble cast includes, Angelina Jolie, Kit Harrington, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, Don Lee, Barry Keoghan, Harish Patel, Lauren Ridloff, and Brian Tyree Henry. Each actor is set to play one of the immortal members of the alien race, which was created by the Celestials and have lived on Earth for over 7,000 years. Dealing with such a span of time and a massive list of characters, Marvel's new film is shaping up to be a long one. RELATED: Eternals' Origin Changes Open The Door For MCU Greek Gods Zhao sat down for an interview with Fandango to discuss the upcoming Marvel movie, during which she confirmed the film's runtime of two-and-a-half hours. Making it one of the longest MCU movies yet, Zhao explains in the interview that the long runtime was intentional, even saying "It could be longer!" Zhao further justifies her claim saying, "You know, it’s ten characters, the Celestials and 7,000 years. There’s a lot going on." To put Eternals' runtime into perspective, the shortest film in the MCU is tied between 2013's Thor: The Dark World and 2008's The Incredible Hulk, which both clock in at around 112 minutes. Side note, 2011's Thor is a close second, clocking in at 115 minutes long. On the other end of the spectrum, the longest film in the MCU is 2019's Avengers: Endgame (for good reason), which runs for a total length of 181 minutes (just over three hours). Beyond that, the second longest is 2018's Avengers: Infinity War, which runs for 149 minutes. So, while Eternals upcoming runtime is behind Endgame, Zhao's film easily takes the number two spot once it releases. Given Zhao's inspiration of 2001: A Space Odyssey, which runs for about 139 minutes, it's no wonder her film blazes past the two hour mark. Going further, as Zhao points out in her interview, the upcoming Marvel film deals with a lengthy span of time and features a large ensemble cast. Therefore, the movie's runtime seems justified. After all, if fans could easily sit through Endgame's three-hour runtime, they should have no problem making it through Eternals two-and-a-half hour length.
  24. Actor Chris Pratt has shared a funny fake "first-look" at the animated Super Mario Bros: The Movie. Pratt was recently cast as Mario for Nintendo and Illumination's Super Mario Bros: The Movie animated feature, which sports a strong cast of interesting players. The announced cast includes Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike. Original Mario voice actor Charles Martinet is also expected to make some guest voice appearances in the film. Super Mario Bros. is a platform game developed by Nintendo in 1983 which focuses on brothers Mario and Luigi, both plumbers, who must travel to the Mushroom Kingdom to rescue Princess Peach from the evil clutches of Bowser. From the colorful characters to the catchy theme to the popularization of side-scrolling games, Super Mario Bros. would go on to become an icon of gaming, launching a multitude of games that continue to be produced today, as well as merchandise, an animated series, and a notoriously terrible 1993 live-action film starring Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo, and Dennis Hopper. RELATED:Super Mario Bros: The Movie - Why Charlie Day Is Actually The Perfect Luigi While some fans have been skeptical of the casting, Chris Pratt has embraced his new role as the voice of Mario and today shared a funny fake video that he teased was a look a the new film. The video in question take the final scene at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and adds Super Mario Bros. imagery and sound effects, with Pratt's "Mario" reaching for a Super Star (an Infinity Stone in GOTG), which grants temporary invincibility in the game. The humorous clip is little more than a fun tease for the project, which Pratt appears to be quite excited about. Take a look at the video below: Pratt's most recent film, Amazon's The Tomorrow War, was a big hit for the streamer and for Pratt. His acting dance card has filled up tremendously of late, with a number of high-profile projects on the way and in development. Aside from Super Mario Bros: The Movie, Pratt returns to his Jurassic World roots next year with Jurassic World: Dominion, suits up as James Reece in the series adaptation of Jack Carr's The Terminal List, and returns to the cosmos as Star-Lord in three more projects, including Thor: Love & Thunder, Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. While some fans weren't thrilled with Pratt taking on the role of Mario, the fact remains that Pratt cut his teeth in comedy with projects like Parks and Recreation and movies like The LEGO Movie, where he showed a natural ability for voice work. While he may not be the original Mario voice actor, Pratt does bring some clout, as does the rest of the cast, in creating something original that also pays proper homage to the characters, world, and themes fans have come to love. In the end, a studio hiring a large cast of A-list talent for an animated film is nothing new and it's good to see Pratt flex his comedic muscles again, rather than just his newly acquired physical ones. Super Mario Bros: The Movie is expected to jump into theaters on December 21st, 2022.
  25. Chief creative officer at Disney, Alan Horn, is retiring at the end of 2021. Alan Horn is one of the most trusted names in Hollywood, as he is a producer known for his strong working relationship with filmmakers. His time as COO of Warner Bros. from 1999 to 2011 was where he oversaw successful film franchises like the Harry Potter series, The Hobbit trilogy, and Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. Disney CEO famously got Horn to come out of retirement to join Disney in 2012 after Horn was forced out of Warner Bros. by then-CEO Jeff Bewkes. Horn joined Disney in 2012 and served as the chairman of Walt Disney Studios where he helped the studio recover from a string of high-profile flops under Rich Ross. In 2020, Horn was appointed Chief Creative Officer while Alan Bergman became chairman. Under his leadership, Horn saw a successful period of feature films including overseeing the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a Disney property starting with The Avengers, the revival of the Star Wars franchise, and the new age of Disney animation with hit films like Frozen, Zootopia, and Moana. RELATED: Disney's Insane Box Office Reign Began In 2012 (Because Of Paramount) According to Deadline, Horn is set to retire as the chief creative officer of Walt Disney Studios effective December 31, 2021. The report states his position is not to be filled or replaced as the various creative heads at Disney like Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige, Lucasfilm Ltd. Kathleen Kennedy, Pixar Animations' Pete Doctor, Disney Animations' Jennifer Lee, and more have a certain level of creative autonomy. Horn released an official statement regarding his departure that can be read below: “It has been my great privilege and pleasure to be able to spend these past 50 years helping creative people tell stories that move, entertain, and connect audiences around the world – and a dream come true to have the chance to do it at Disney, no less. I’m deeply thankful to Bob Iger for the opportunity he gave me and to Alan Bergman for being an incredible partner throughout this adventure, as well as to Bob Chapek for his steady leadership during these unprecedented times. I also must recognize the extraordinary leaders of our individual studios as well as our business teams and every single one of our fantastic team members. It’s never easy to say goodbye to a place you love, which is why I’ve done it slowly, but with Alan Bergman leading the way, I’m confident the incredible Studios team will keep putting magic out there for years to come.” Horn's career at Disney is no doubt successful, as in the nine years with the company twenty of Disney's films passed the $1 billion mark, and twelve of those films are in the top twenty films of all time. He secured Disney the biggest grossing domestic release (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), the biggest global grossing film (Avengers: Endgame), the biggest animated grossing film domestically (Incredibles 2), and the biggest animated film globally (Frozen 2). In 2016, the studio became the first studio to gross $3 billion at the domestic box office. This is a far cry from the studio, who at the turn of 2010, had suffered high-profile flops like Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Mars Needs Moms, and John Carter. Horn's departure from Disney comes at a major time of transition for the studio. In the wake of Bob Iger's departure from the studio and new CEO, Bob Chapek ,taking control, there has been a growing concern that the studio will prioritize data and profit over the working relationship and creativity of the people that work at Disney. Horn was always known for his good working relationship with talent and trusting the filmmakers and creatives everywhere he worked. Horn helped shaped the identity of what Disney is to a modern film audience, making it one of the biggest studios in the world. Horn is leaving the studio's film division in a better place than when he found it, and his Midas touch will certainly be missed, but the hope will be that Disney continues to learn the right lessons he imparted
